Fraise Tagada
Payal P.

Stopped by the outdoor rooftop bar in old city. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. They had live music which was pretty awesome. The view was obstructed by a wall but the decor at the Stratus really added a good vibe. We had a cocktail at the bar. I got Fraise Tagada which was made of hennessy, strawberry syrup, grand marnier, lemon juice. I wasn't a big fan of this drink. It tasted very basic. For 17 bucks a drink I expect better quality.

We came here for a New Year's Eve event and it was very fun! The rooftop lounge is pretty spacious but the only thing is they didn't have any heaters so we were freezing! Can't speak much on the food but the espresso martini was delicious! Bartenders were also attentive and friendly!

Oven baked Brie

(to the tune of "Grenade" by Bruno Mars) Up and up, up they go, elevators fly, Oh Strauts Rooftop Lounge lets you kiss the sky. Even through a pandemic, cocktails pouring strong, and the kitchen's open Chef Mack's got it open! Revamp is so hot, and the spacing is so nice, Spacing between spots, oh yeah. Cocktail menu's fire - all I could've asked for What you don't understand Stratus can become bae for ya..... Warm brie and some steak for ya.... You know, they'd do anything for ya.... You could even take the train for ya.... Promise - it won't be lame. So apparently while we were all chilling indoors, Stratus got a full-blown upgrade and looks absolutely spectacular. The signature cocktails aren't cheap ($15), but their take on a Manhattan had me weak in the knees (and not just because it was strong!) We LOVED the baked brie - drizzled with honey, it was the perfect sweet and salty starter. The crusted tuna was a bit more "done" than I usually like, but the tartare was SPOT ON and the service was impeccable. They've got a lot of space between tables, live music Thursdays, and six elevators to safely get you to the roof. Ideal for the kickoff to an evening.

Review based only on a recent happy hour trip. The place is amazing, not your typical roof top. They have a decent outdoor space adorned with choice full accessories and decor. The huge black wings are insta worthy. Servers are attentive and pleasant. We arrived at 5:30 and were seated immediately, music was pleasant and our server offered us the happy hour cocktail which was a watermelon tequila based drink. It. Was. Delicious. We ended up having a few of those. Ordered the truffle fries and we were not disappointed. I would say it's a decent spot in old city, worth the view.

Pretty unimpressive all around, not worth any kind of hype. Food is cheap and boring, it isn't worth the minimum you're forced to spend for reservations. Definitely an ok spot for a drink, but even the view and atmosphere are kinda bad compared to other rooftop bars in the area. Service is ok, but again not great for a place that requires you to pay in advance, wait thirty minutes pass your reservation time just to be "seated". I definitely expected much better and was disappointed.

Lobster toast. Soooooo salty
Cynthia E.

Customer service was surperb but I can't keep sending stuff back. Started with Derby Tea- tasted like dirty water. Replaced with White marble, which was magnificent. Chicken satay was okay, quite salty like it was drowned in soy but edibl. So disappointed with Lobster toast. I expected it to be simple buttered lobster with lemon and a dash of old bay on a decent bread. Instead it is this cold lobster slaw with a ton of old bay on white. I'm starving and I can't eat the rest of this mound of salt

Ask the Community - Stratus

Is the place wheelchair-accessible?

There is an elevator.

Can women wear dress shorts and sandals? And a dressy sleeveless is ok or is that still considered a tank top?

The dress code is usually enforced when it's packed up there or it's a big night. You won't find too much enforcement other times. What's described above sounds like a happy hour outfit which would be perfectly fine.

Is there cover on a sat night , how much and is it only after a certain time?

Covers vary from night to night and really depends on who's performing/promoting that night. You can pretty much count on a cover an a Saturday night. $10 is the base and it goes up depending on......who's performing/promoting that night. Now,…

18 and up?

This is a full-service bar and lounge so I would assume it's 21+. There's not always a bouncer, but the bartenders will ask for ID on those nights. Outside of a special event like a wedding, I wouldn't recommend the under 21 coming here

What's the best night to go?

As with any lounge/club, it's best to follow the venue on social media for updates on special events and parties. On average, Fridays and Saturdays have a rotating stable of DJs and promoters. Happy Hour during the spring/summer is also fun with the…

How is it in the wintertime?

The main bar, seated, and bathroom areas are enclosed by garage-styled doors. On warmer nights, they bring out the heaters and fire pits for the uncovered areas. That also gives access to the two side rooms on the rooftop. In other words, they're…

How much are drinks on average/price range?

$14+ liquor $10+ wine $8+ beer

Is this a good venue to dance the night away?

It can be depending on the night

How much is cover?

I was told it varies. I went 6.30.17 and paid 10...it was a light crowd.

I made a reservation online on OpenTable. We arrived earlier than our reservation slot so we were able to walk around and take pics. Unfortunately on the night we went it was super cloudy and had been raining so the views weren't nearly as good as they could have been. There's a grand staircase that walks down into an even bigger and more open area. Up first, was a $9 hot chocolate and a $23 Bluecoat (Dirty Martini with blue cheese olives). The martini was perfect, exactly how I like it with tiny slivers of ice shards. Second, I had a $30 Gold Espresso Martini with vodka. It was also perfect. Probably the prettiest espresso martini I've ever been served. The leaf design in your drink is pretty sweet. Tons of dates here, anniversaries, vacationers, and people super dressed up. Most certainly look your best if you decide to come. Next time I'm in Philly, I'll certainly be back!

Besides the venue just being so beautiful, the architecture and the interior design and the great views of Philly from high above!! The seating was comfortable at the bar, and I enjoyed my kahlua and cream. My bff enjoyed a Tito's. Great conversations with Folks around us. FIFA time so we were all excited about that as well as the Fourth of July festivities down below. It was beautiful time here. I look forward to coming back
