What I love most is that they don't overload the pizza. Their crust combinations are thoughtful, letting each ingredient shine instead of burying everything under a mountain of random stuff. I always ask for gluten free crust, you have to call in advance so they can prepare it, my favorite is the Lil' Pep. The atmosphere is casual, energetic and perfectly located. Whether you are a local or visiting from out of town, this is ONE of the spots that consistently lives up to its reputation. Some containers were empty when I got there at about 12:45p and weren't filled till the end of the buffet...what is up with that! At 1:30pm I noticed they completely stopped bringing out any pepperoni pizza; about 15 minutes later they stopped bringing out any pizza. At that time, the only area I noticed the grumpy manageress refilling was the salad bar area...again what is up with that! Oh speaking of the manageress, yes she still walks by people frequently, stares, comes back and stares again uncomfortably as though she's suspicious of you doing something. She should be managing the kitchen production and overall dining experience better at this dismal location. The only humorous thing was the nearly 10" inch straw you get with a kids soda cup, LMAO! Save your $15 bucks, skip this place and head across town (or out of the area) to competitors for a better value and dining choices.

I would like to say Straw Hat Pizza in Watsonville on Freedom Boulevard has the best pizza we had a fundraiser there last night on Wednesday in all my life that I've been eating pizza this place treated me and my friends and family like family they had the best chavelas and the best buffalo wings I've had in a long time if you haven't had their pizza or been there you must go there I guarantee you you will leave very very happy it's a place to have birthday parties fundraising or just go have a place to relax believe me they will treat you like family I just want to give a big thanks to all the employees and especially to the manager the owner I hope I'm pronouncing her name right Cami and her husband treated us with the most respect and were so friendly she went beyond her duties she helped us raise money for our football team for now on she is considered my guardian angel thank you c a m i. Straw Hat Pizza is my families new favorite place to enjoy a "pizza night" out. We are always greeted with friendly smiles from the staff. My husband and I really like that their were games for my grandson to play, and ONLY a nickle to play!! We were even greeted by the new owners on several occasions to welcome us to their establishment. The salad bar was well stocked and very clean. The pizza was hot and very tasty.Plenty of choices of cold beer on tap and many TVs to view sporting events.We hosted a birthday party there and the staff was very accommodating to all of my decorations, balloons etc..I highly recommend stopping in and enjoy cold pitcher of beer and great pizza served with a smile:) Keep up the good work everybody!!!! read more

I ordered online the yelp app After I ordered they called saying that they discontinued the Alfredo pasta dish I ordered for my son who doesn't like pizza. They allowed us to switch to a chicken bacon hot-hat sandwich. So I was okay with it but they should update the menu. BUT Then moments later they called back saying they were out of the crispy green bean appetizer we ordered MIND YOU the items that we were unable to get were the reason we ordered in the first place. I don't normally consider pizza places as a spot to watch the UFC fights but I heard from a friend of mine that there's a spot in Watsonville that shows it with No Cover. I was super stoked and brought 6 of my friends. The place was packed!!! We thought it would take forever to even order a beer, but they proved us wrong. We had our beer and pizza in no time. The food was really good actually, for a chain. The service was on point and they even had a raffle with prizes! It was a lot of fun. There's another UFC fight on Saturday and we will definitely be watching it there, even if I do live all the way in Monterey! read more

This is my very first review on yelp but I really enjoyed this food and was so surprised they actually delivered all the way out to me-as a last minute request too! I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple and it was great. I was pleasantly surprised because I'm very picky with my pizza. On our way home from the beach Saturday night we stopped here to get a late dinner and we were very pleased that we did. The variety of beers on tap you never seen at "franchise" pizza places like this was awesome. The staff attended to us and was very helpful and friendly, our pizza came out in a timely manner was really tasty too. The place is decked out in TV screens all of the restaurant so if you are a sports fan or even a casual fan its a great place to catch a game with great food and great beer. Amazing beer selection, great staff, great food, great customer service perfect location what more could you ask for?! Make sure to check out their paint nights. THE SPOT FOR RAIDERS AND 49ers FOOTBALL!! There are big screen tv's everywhere so every game is on. Today there was a small mix-up with the line, but Jose (the lead staff member) handled it so well. I was on a quick lunch break and didn't have much time, and he made sure my food came out quickly while also making me feel really welcome. He even told me to come see him next time I'm on my break, which I really appreciated. The food is consistently fresh, the atmosphere is great, and the customer service really stood out today. Highly recommend stopping by--and make sure to say hi to Jose, he truly goes above and beyond!

Yummy it is a great side dish to cool your taste buds off after you have some of your spicy hot chicken!! I have tried the Medium, hot and extra hot. Medium not hot for me at all! X-hot hold on to your hat it is super hot! I love the hot! I can't imagine what angry tastes like!! My kids do love this place and they had great service. Line moved super quick. Food was fresh and hot!!!

They had orange poppy seed pancakes the day I went and I'm daydreaming of them as I write this, so very delicious, fluffy, and flavorful. Service was also lovely and the ambiance is homey and welcoming. Portion sizes are very good and price points are fair. Well worth the drive to Watsonville and the wait!

We had a decently large group, ~6 people, and it took just over 30 minutes for us to be seated, which was totally fine! The food itself was incredible; the french toast, the pancakes, the eggs, bacon, omelettes, and toast, all wonderful across the board. Absolutely no complaints, will be regulars for life!
