Came to watch a Sunday football game, it was nice and empty. But all the arcade games are shut down, they had no water and were out of salad. Half the TVs were on but just had DIRECT TV screensaver on. Pizza wasn't bad. The crust was bland but the toppings made up for it. The hot ham and cheese was pretty plain and the dough inside seemed like it didn't get enough time to rise and was dense and not cooked all the way through. This place isn't bad, but isn't great. This horrible Pizza and one piece of garlic bread cost $25. I ordered extra cheese and you see by the picture what I received it was horrible it was the worst pizza I ever had in my life. We are visiting Pajaro Dunes for the weekend and came in late on Friday so wanted a pizza for the first night. We went in to pick up our order and the cashier was very friendly and talkative. Good vibe in the restaurant, employees are very nice. We ordered a small cheese pizza for the kids and they loved it. We also ordered an extra large works and unfortunately it was raw. The ingredients were of high quality but we weren't able to enjoy the pizza because it wasn't fully cooked. Since we are visiting for the weekend we didn't call or give Straw Hat a chance to make us a new one. A decent option for pizza in the area. It's great that they have several gluten free options for pizza crust. Pizza quality is good, but not great. I'd like to be able to get delivery from directly from the restaurant. Delivery has to be done through a third party which makes it cost more. Two pizzas with gluten free crust, delivery, and tip came out to more than $70, which is kind of absurd. read more

The pizza can be a little pricey, but it tastes good. For example, I ordered a small 3 topping pizza which came out to about $15.00 The small pizza was tiny, like individual sized. Really good tho. Their lunch special and buffet is a better deal, but I didn't have time to take advantage of the buffet so I got what I got. Customer service is also good. And not to mention the blond woman with literally sky blue eyes is easy on the eyes too. And nice. Win win. read more

The simplest rule for wings is if they're not offered with bleu cheese, they're not worth getting. We avoided this advice at our peril. They weren't bad, just heavily breaded and inconsistent in size, shape, and meat. Not at all like the picture. The sauce was fine though. The pizza was also pretty mediocre. 40% cheese, 40% crust, 10% toppings and 10% sauce. Pretty dry despite (again) the flavor being fine. Fries kinda sad too. A great experience from start to finish. Although I would recommend do not order online, but call the place. Not the least because the UI of the ordering app is complete garbage, but because also the company who made it very likely takes a hit of the order price. I'd rather give the full price I pay to this small business. That being said... the person who handled my order was so helpful and friendly. The pizza arrived in less time than I was told, and was still hot and fresh on arrival! And, not to mention, great quality AND prepared how we asked, with 2 different meat toppings and only 1 half of the pizza to have sauce etc. We are specific what can I say! Haven't been to this place in a while. Stopped in with my family (husband and 3 children) and of course first thing they do is run right up to the games begging me for quarters. Typical. The lady at the front laughed to herself as I rolled my eyes and said don't worry, they take nickels! I cannot begin to tell you how much easier that makes my life (and I'm sure every parent) being nickels vs quarters! So stoked! Food is great, staff is professional and friendly and there has been made a HUGE IMPROVEMENT in the ladies bathroom!!! Love this place and all of their vegetarian options! I just stopped in for the $5 off one topping special they are running and got the Cheese Pizza, it was exactly what I was looking for. The salad bar looked fresh and had great options. I stocked up while I was there and took home a large salad for later, it was so pretty I didn't want to eat it. They always have great food, nice atmosphere, great staff and service, fight nights are the best! Love the new GF, Vegan, and Keto options. read more

As of this writing, June 25 2018, Straw Hat has 4.5 stars. I cannot figure out how in the world it can be so well reviewed. My wife and I thought, hey, this is one of the best-reviewed restaurants around, let's check it out! So we go, get a salad, wings, and a pizza. It was way too much money for the quality. The salad bar wasn't bad, but the lettuce was wilty and you had to pick through the ones with black speckles. Yuck. The wings were okay, but greasy, and the pizza was okay, but greasy. The entire place smelled like urinal cake, and it their arcade just sucks. I will say they have a great sense of community. Service was friendly, and other customers were really nice and chatty inside. It had that nice friendly small-town vibe, but man, their food (and smell) needs a little help. read more

I think the pizza is overpriced. However the Pizza buffet is not (if you don't eat salad like myself). For a buffet it is way much better than any other pizza buffet. There is no comparison really. It's a "long" drive for me from Aptos (for a lunch break) but I often do instead of going to Roundtable for my lunch pizza fix. Only issue is that unlike Round table that is constantly placing new pizzas, Straw Hat is a bit slow and often when new pizza comes in, it is gone in seconds. I guess it is because it takes too good ;) Staff are nice too. Place is nice. Great soda selection. read more

Every time I come in im treated like family. The staff always goes beyond to make sure im taken care of. Straw Hat surprised me and surpassed my expectations. I've lived in LA the last couple years so I've had the opportunity to try different variations of noteworthy pizza, especially with the health kick in LA as I am always looking for a great cauliflower pizza. Well, Watsonville has been elevated because Straw Hat has an INCREDIBLE cauliflower pizza, wow! You can't even tell the difference! This was my favorite place to order pizza until today! It took over an hour for my paid order to be ready. At 45min I asked the cashier when my order will be ready and I was informed that they did not have all of the ingredients for my order. I was shocked that I, the customer, had to ask for the status of my order. They did not inform me of the delay or reason for the delay. Horrible service!
