It's funny how a little spit shine can really make things glisten. I like a good haircut, but a straight razor shave is a necessary extra. Good contractors get bonus points in my book for cleaning up their messes. Same goes for automotive issues. Street Custom did a fine job replacing and painting my busted bumper, but in the end, they won a fifth star because they took a few minutes to vacuum and clean up the interior. Can it really be that simple? Yes. Because we had a few bumps along the way. I took a chance on these guys based on the reviews; Jeremy and Ashley are honest people and they claimed it was legit, so I visited, even though the place was a long way from home. Initially it was a challenge getting the car into the shop; first they pushed back the date, then I did, then they did, but eventually we nailed down an appointment, after I had swung by the shop a few times. I felt like I was spending a fair amount of time schlepping around, honestly. But I could tell the owner genuinely wanted to get it right. On the day of the repair, the owner's father drove me to the Journal Center shops, where I could work and grab lunch, while they did the work. Three hours later I had a beautiful new bumper with a spit shine: the entire interior, including the dash and floor mats, had been cleaned, and the car smelled terrific. And seriously, I suddenly forgot all about the schlepping. Awesome local biz. Originally, my Toyota dealership handed me a business card for another body shop and said, "We refer all of our customers to This Guy. We're not partners or anything, but he's good. First off, I own a rare car; only 100 in the US with my paint color. And yes, it's 16 years old and a volvo. When I got a new bumper to replace my previously mistreated one, I wanted the paint to match perfectly . But at the same time, I'm not made of money to do this the "vintage $100,000" way. Other shops were quoting me in the $1000s for a 3-panel fade and paint. Street body did recommend that the best way to ensure perfection was the "by the book" and expensive. But, they were willing to work with my budget and confident they could get the job done. I was quickly scheduled and had my car in the shop within a few days. While it was in their shop, I got to see the process live via their facebook page (which was very cool btw). It was also admirable to see them working and posting pictures of progress as late as 9pm. The next day I was summoned to the shop for pick-up. There, they told me about how many times the paint had to be mixed and remixed for the proper sheen and color (I believe it was 8 times total). To me, this represented their relentless pursuit for quality and customer satisfaction. When I saw the bumper, I was blown away at how non-noticeable the difference was between 16yr old paint and that freshly painted bumper. I was highly satisfied. The quick turn-around, great service, quality and the affordable price, allows me to stare at that bumper everyday with pride. I will be back soon for tinting on my other vehicle. read more

Can't keep saying good things about this shop to everybody I know. I contacted them on a recommendation from a friend, and was planning on dropping by on my day off. The day arrives, I show up during business hours and they're closed. My initial reaction is: "WTF?" A bit annoyed, I left a voice mail on their phone which was returned the next business day - and to my surprise, they offered much apology and said they'd come out to my workplace to check out the car and give me their estimate...and sure enough, they did. Taking that as a good sign I dropped off my car, and it took about three weeks to get back because of additional damage they found once the body pieces were off. Not only was the damage fixed, but they took it upon themselves to take dings out of the back doors (the damage was to the FRONT, mind you) and clean up other parts of the car that were damaged before repainting everything and then giving the whole car a badly needed wax job and cleaning out the interior! My car looked incredible. To say I was "impressed" by their attention to detail and considerable customer service would be an understatement. This shop clearly goes above and beyond to ensure that you're satisfied. I'll admit, I was a bit uneasy given my initial interactions with this shop, but they quickly turned that around. I don't think I would have seen this type of service from some of their other more corporate competitors. read more

These guys did a phenomenal job buffing, waxing and detailing my husband's Miata (my Christmas present to him), which was looking pretty scratched up and worn out--I almost didn't recognize it when I went back at the end of the day to pick it up--gorgeous!
