The Good 1. 3…read morepowerlifting platforms, a ton of soft weights, and 2 deadlift jacks. 2. 3 squat racks, a Smith machine, and 2 legit angle leg presses. 3. 150lbs dumbbells down by 10 until 80, and then double 75lbs to 5lbs. 4. 25+ variable cardio machines and a "cross-fit" style dedicated room with associated bands, steps, and weights 5. 24hr magnetic lock access. The Bad 1. Gym rules not enforced. 2. Tourists in the gym. No bearing. No idea how to work out. Just a membership. 3. Plates left on equipment. Plates dumped on the floor. Plates shoved on the wrong post. 4. Middle aged dudes trying hard to know stuff.

I asked to perform the buyout option to cancel my membership and I was fine with paying the remaining balance, but I still was forced and required to go back and forth through various emails and calls that stated that I needed to provide actions that I already provided, to initiate the cancellation. I was told to send an email with my name, account number, and stating I was canceling via buyout option yet received 3 emails stating that they were sorry but I was only eligible to cancel via the buyout option!?!??!?! They are stuck in a loop which seems 100% intent on forcing the consumer to experience the most frustration and agony imaginable to hopefully give up on pursuing the cancelation request. I've dealt with many service provider before that perform these shady tactics and ABC Financial is atrocious at providing support and an intuitive experience for their customers as a part of the vendor of PowerHouse. I strongly recommend not getting tied up with a service provider that is leveraging ABC Financial as a vendor if you need to have a smooth, normal experience at managing your account and services. You have been warned.

I don't know if I have ever gone there and seen a mess or something wrong other than when construction is going on which is understandable.

While the gym itself is on the smaller…read moreside, the pool is a very nice size for laps and is kept at a good temperature for lap swimming (it really is the Goldilocks just-right, where I find most pools either way too hot or too cold). I always loved standing underneath the waterfall and having the weight of the water get a little shiatsu massage my shoulders and head, and the massage jets in the hot tub also do a number on aching muscles (although all the jets are positioned in exactly the same spot so it's hard to massage anything other than your exact mid) back. The locker rooms are lovely as well (it's an especially nice touch to have a swimsuit dryer so you don't have to carry a drippy suit back to your room or house), and it's always nice to treat yourself to a sauna after your workout. It doesn't take long for the sauna to heat up, and I recommend turning it on before you swim so that it's hot and ready afterwards. The pipes in the shower area could use a major overhaul though. It sounds like a massive road construction project is going on right above your head when you're in the shower. Also, there is zero suds factor on the shampoo in the dispensers and even after rewashing several times and using tons of pumps of the stuff my hair didn't feel clean afterwards. I was staying at the hotel this week for a conference -- when I went back to the pool on day three In brought my own shampoo with me.

Three locations, once price. I say this intrigued me!…read more The newest location is on Westnedge. Nice clean locker room (ladies side anyway) and a lot more options for cardio equipment. Since this is newer, the workout machines are all newer and more modern. They didn't have 24 hr access yet, however, when we arrived they were just closing. The front desk guy said he was going to be there working out for the next 2 hrs so he didn't mind if we did too. I found that respectful and took up the offer! He could've said "nah, bye" lol Gull rd location is where I signed up for the membership. Aaron, the owner, was very kind and showed us around. Now, will I say he was a little pushy? Yes, yes I would. But he was not rude about it. It just kept cutting deals for us to say yes. Coming from Planet Fitness, this location has older equipment but more the traditional style gym I was looking for. Also, they have a ladies only room, not too much more convincing needed to be done :P The third location is off from W Michigan. If this was the gym I walked into for checking it out, there would be no way I would sign. The equipment is old and torn, very limited cardio machines, and an awkward parking lot. I know that this is close to Western so I can see the appeal to freshman in college students but as an adult, no thanks. I'll pass. I will say, that doesn't stop me from giving them a great review. The customer service has been terrific and being open 24hrs is convenient. Best part, several machines that you may have not used or seen before and it's not so jam packed you have to squeeze your way in to get a good workout.

I reached out to the number listed on Google for assistance with a billing issue. The owner…read moreresponded and told me my bill showed as paid on his end. I explained multiple times that it showed the same on my end, but the payment had never actually been withdrawn from my bank account. He told me that if the issue wasn't resolved by the next day, I should contact him again. When I did, he said he would waive the late fee if I left cash at the gym. However, I couldn't even access the building because my membership had been deactivated due to the billing issue. I reached back out to ask how I was supposed to make the payment, only to be told not to contact him again because I was "reaching out too much." When the only contact number listed for all four locations is the owner's personal number, I'm not sure what customers are expected to do when they need help. I also requested to place my membership on the three-month hold that he had previously told me was available. He instructed me to contact the billing company, but they informed me they don't handle membership holds. That left me with no option but to contact him again. I understand not wanting to receive business calls at all hours, but if that's the only customer support contact provided, customers shouldn't be criticized for using it. The lack of professionalism and customer service has been extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, the issues don't stop there. The gyms themselves are often dirty, and the location closest to me consistently has more machines out of order than machines that are actually working. Considering members pay both a monthly membership fee and an annual equipment maintenance fee, it's frustrating to see so many machines left unusable.
