So this is a great gym to work out in on a regular basis. The equipment is a bit outdated but it all works and serves the purpose. However, this week I received an email from the gym with threw me- it's an email promoting a church service stating "It will be a Christian faith based message taught out of the Bible". I was not aware this was what appears to be a " faith based " gym. I signed a year contract so now I need to see how I can exit my membership as this is not what I had signed up for. But if this fits your lifestyle, then this gym will be a great fit for you , ** update - I spoke with the gym and I was assured it was not faith based . ** For more clarity I would suggest you contact the gym directly.

I joined this gym 3 years back and it was cool even when Joe took over. Not too busy and a good…read morelocation with all the basic equipment. But after a couple months of the new ownership, Joe just became erratic. I have no issue with his religious stance but honestly I don't think bible verses and crosses belong in the gym. It makes people who aren't of that faith feel excluded and uncomfortable. Also, the crosses are made out of duct tape fyi. Plus his Instagram videos are so off putting. Lots of swearing and drinking, you really get a good glimpse of what this guy is like. He even went so far to stroke his ego to try and make a movie about himself. He could have definitely used that money instead to purchase new equipment for the gym. The poor gym has outdated equipment from the early 2000's, but don't fret he also installed a boxing arcade game that's not even plugged in and has no business being in a gym. The seats on some of the equipment are completely ripped through and he just put duct tape over it like a bandaid. He gets super defensive of anyone that makes complaints to the point where he's just trying to come off intimidating. The bathrooms are so sick. They are RARELY cleaned and always lacking products (toilet paper, soap, toilet seat covers). The smell is so unbearable and the trash is never taken out. I eventually had to cancel my membership, but he makes it near impossible. You can only cancel it through him and he will make sure not to return your calls, texts, or emails and by the time he does he'll make you pay for one more additional month before "cancelling". I suggest for anyone trying to cancel, once he "allows " you to cancel, make sure to call your card company and have the payments stopped from being charged. Because what he is notoriously known for is continuing to charge ex-members since he never gets rid of your card information. This business isn't even BBB verified because they don't respond to complaints. He also has people writing fake reviews on yelp with 5 stars and coincidentally there's no detailed information about the gym lol. I eventually left because this place was stressing me out and I couldn't continue coming to a gym where I felt unwanted and under appreciated. Also, this gym used to cost $50 a month and recently when I looked at the new prices I COULD NOT believe that it is now $100 per month. And for what? Outdated equipment, a lack of proper cleaning practices, and the trauma from having to deal with Joe's shady business practices.

In the time I've been working with Samera, I've learned so much about strength training, feel confident to continue a practice on my own, learned how to nourish my body to support my practice, am stronger than I've ever been, and I've lost 40 pounds! (For reference, I'm 60 years of age.) All the while, Samera has been encouraging and supportive, notices improvements, celebrates advancements, and always with the deepest sincerity. Your wins are her wins. If you're looking for someone who is as invested in your success as you are, Samera is your person. Do not hesitate, you won't regret it.

Over the course of our time together, I've not only lost 35 pounds but have also gained muscle and improved muscle tone. While I've shed inches, the boost in confidence I've gained is truly transformative. What sets Samera apart, beyond her delightful personality, is her ability to make fitness accessible and enjoyable. She has helped me embrace a lifestyle change rather than viewing fitness as a temporary fix or a chore. By integrating my fitness goals into my daily life, I find the process far more manageable and fulfilling. This investment in myself has been the best decision I've made, and I know it will have lasting benefits for years to come.

And when I say intense, I mean the kind of intensity that makes you sweat tears and see unicorns. There is no AC, no TVs, no mirrors. You're not going to find any treadmills, stair-climbers or recumbent bikes here because those machines are too easy. That's why I made the move from the commercial gym (24 Hour Fitness) that has been my home base for years; I needed something to push me beyond my limits because I wasn't doing it on my own. Andrew (Moose), the head trainer, does exactly that with everyone no matter what their various limits are. I have only been in for about three weeks and my cardiovascular conditioning has improved dramatically. He is quickly turning me from a normal, beer bellied, bicep curling bro to a shredded, homicidal gym predator. The monthly rate ($105 w/ a 12 month commitment) is a bit more than what I've been paying at 24 Hour, but the unlimited hands on training is entirely worth it. I can't say this gym is for everyone because it's not, but anyone with a serious desire to push their limits to achieve their fitness goals should definitely check them out.

Boxing is a newer endeavor for men but one class got me hooked the point that I went and bought my own gloves! Barre is a shockingly hard workout, and great for when you want to feel your muscles shake (and struggle to walk the next day). Seriously, take a class. There's no wrong choice. I know those window sills, etc. are very hard to keep up as dust just descend and cake on pretty quickly, but I appreciate the efforts to keep those ledges at least partially clean. Staff remain cheerful and welcoming, and many of them are doing a lot more cleaning, dusting, emptying trash cans, refilling paper towels, sprays, and wipes, and some of them vacuum. It's all getting better and it seems more and more people are coming to this location, so the cleaning will need to be kept up. The swimming pool certainly is a big draw, people want to do their lap swimming and with no pool at the Pocket location, the Greenhaven branch becomes the default for this area, so I'm noticing more new members. Women's locker room look better now, no more overfilling feminine products disposal bins. Sometimes the floor is still wet, so maybe more mopping up every couple of hours or for a staff to check or even just leave a mop for members to mop up the wet floor is a good idea so people don't slip and fall, especially since this location has a lot more senior gym members who have been coming to this location back from when it was Greenhaven Racquet Club. Anyhow, sometimes the women's locker room is TOO cold, the AC is turned WAY high, and other times it's like completely off and stuffy, so maybe moderate that. Finally, lately the women's sauna was down, and it was fixed within a few days so that was good. Hope this gym branch will continue to improve as it is a pretty nice community here, the staff are friendlier here.

Antonio the new manager has beefed up the upkeep of the gym overall. Sometimes the men's locker room could use some more periodic mopping of the floors for safety as well as cleanliness, but this location is still the cleanest one south of downtown and closest clean one to us. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially Ajay and Connor. They are taking on much more janitorial duties than we've seen staff at other locations doing so. Notably, Ajay and Jasmine we've seen clean quite a lot, as well as the older gentleman who's a new staff (have not gotten his name yet), my wife saw him vacuum late one evening this week, and Antonio himself sets an example. We appreciate his leadership to set the bar higher. The gym is older, but MOST of the staff are doing their best at keeping the gym in good shape, some staff do less though, I won't name names. Members do pay attention... But all in all, staff are all available and helpful.
