Let me tell you something. I don't vouch for places often, but the StretchLab and assisted stretching should absolutely be a thing. I'll get back to why I said "should" a little later. I walked in for my 12:00pm appointment and the place was pretty much empty, aside from the attendant at the desk who happen to be who would be stretching me. Estrella introduced herself, asked me to sign my waiver, and walked me over to the assessment tablet. Before laying down to start my stretches, I asked that she rewipe the table (can never be too careful) and she did it without any issue. Thank you for that. She was so easy going and very informative about muscle groups, necessary stretches needed to loosen me up, etc. Once we got into it, the stretching was amazing (as was the conversation) and the information she gave me about my own body. She was putting me in stretches that I've never done and when it was all over, my body felt so good. Now things I didn't like: The place being empty made me waaaaaaay more comfortable because the openness can be a bit off-putting for some of the stretches/conversations. Shortly after getting started another customer came in and it went from peaceful to hearing his conversation about his body with the other attendant. I also didn't like that Estrella had to keep stopping to help walk-ins asking about services. That was a bit distracting during my session. The massage "waiting" chair being stationed right next to the table where my stretch was taking place was a bit of an issue too. When other clients walked in, she offered them the chair, but it was so close to us. It made me a little uncomfortable and a little more reserved in conversation. Nevertheless, it was a good experience. I was able to get in on an introductory price of $79.00. After my stretch was done, Estrella spoke to me about the benefits of continuing my stretches and about purchasing membership/subscription options - all at a higher price. I honestly believe $79.00 is the perfect price for this service, especially in this economy. The membership/subscription options are pretty expensive and why I said it "should" be a regular thing, but feels like more of a luxury that you must decide whether you need or not. Overall, it was a great experience I'm still on the fence on whether I'll buy a membership/subscription, but I have recommended quite a few people try it out. read more

They really take the time to assess and target my problem areas, especially the spots that tend to be injury-prone. I finally tried StretchLab Alameda on Sunday with Xn, and it exceeded my expectations. I like the following three things: assisted PNF stretching where the Flexologist pushes and releases to get you deeper into the stretch than you ever could on your own, percussive therapy with a massage gun, and a vibrating foam roller, all honestly felt like a treat. The combination of all three left my body feeling decompressed. It is not just stretching, they bring great tools and technique to the session, and you feel the difference. My first time ever doing an assisted stretch was last week at Stretchlab Alameda with Xin. The assisted stretch session was effective, Xin's chill demeanor made me comfortable, and I'm now excited to see how much more flexible I can become over time with Stretchlab's help. I have constantly told my wife how I should stretch more and so last Christmas she gifted me a gift card for Stretchlab. I was hesitant to try because the activity is so foreign to me, but since she spent the money I didn't want to let it go to waste. I'm very happy with the result from my first session and am looking forward to a follow up sometime in the near future. Directly after my session I felt more limber - my tight calves, hamstrings, neck, shoulders, and forearms were loose first time in years. Xin informed me to stay hydrated over the next few days and treat the stretch session as a work out. The guidance was appreciated since my body was sore (a good workout sore) over the next 2 days. I visited the Stretch Lab on Friday, and it was an amazing experience. I suffer from scoliosis in my lower back, which causes me a lot of pain, and my hips were very tight. Val made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the session. She even provided me with core workouts to do at home and allowed me to record her instructions to ensure I was doing them correctly. After the session, I immediately signed up for a membership. I shared my experience with my husband, who was convinced to try it as well. I booked him an introductory session on Sunday with Joel, and they hit it off like old friends. My husband had a shoulder injury, and Joel helped him stretch it out effectively. Since my husband frequently goes to the gym, Joel also showed him stretches that would improve his workouts. We both really enjoyed our sessions, and I slept like a baby afterward. The Stretch Lab is fantastic--I also love their massage chairs and massage guns; they are incredible. I've now signed up for the weekly stretch sessions. read more

I stopped in on Christmas Eve to grab a gift certificate and ended up treating myself to an intro session as well, and I'm so glad I did. From start to finish, the experience was great. Beth was amazing. She was incredibly thorough during the stretch, clearly explaining what she was doing, why it mattered, and what I should (and shouldn't) be doing. She also gave helpful tips so I can continue seeing results beyond the session. Even better, there was zero pressure to sign up for a membership afterward, which I really appreciated. I had tried a different StretchLab before and didn't have a great experience, so I was a bit hesitant this time. But the Alameda location, and Beth specifically, completely changed that for me. I have been going to StretchLab for about 5 weeks now. Jeff is awesome, and has been working miracles on my flexibility. I had a great 15min demo with Daniel! We started with a mobility exercise and I got to see scores for my joints. Then we worked on stretches for inflammation on my hamstrings and quads. Had an appointment with Daniel at Stretch Lab Alameda. He was amazing! You never know how much more you need to stretch until you actually have someone assist you. Omg! If you haven't done assisted stretching before, you might want to at least try it out. It will change your life.
