Horrible shit can of an establishment! Phone service is a joke, their internet is sketchy, so good luck on any inspection. Won't answer a phone to save their lives, and jokes for employees!! First time customer, last time customer. Took my BMW for oil & oil filter change. Previously, I always dropped the car off at a garage. At Strickland you sit in the car and watch. Remember the saying, righty righty, lefty lousy? Watched this guy tighten the oil filter instead of unscrewing it. This resulted in him breaking the the oil filter gasket. Only $980 for a new gasket. I've used the Pittsboro Quick lube for oil changes and inspections for my cars for a long time. Monday July 14th I tried to get my car inspected and they had a sign indicating no inspections at this time. I tried calling later in the day to see if they were able to do inspections yet. The phone went immediately to a recording that said the voicemail was full and unable to leave a message. Today, Wednesday July 16th, I again tried to call and got the same message . I then drove to the location and was again greeted by the "no inspections today" sign. An employee came out and told me there was no one able to perform inspections and the telephone problem was AI. I'm very disappointed in the operation of this location and I don't know how a business can operate without telephone service and without someone to do inspections read more

The service at this oil change location has gone downhill within the last year. There seems to be a constant rotation of employees and a lack of care when handling customer vehicles. I went in for an oil change before traveling out of state. Upon reaching my destination, I noticed that my splash shield was not screwed all the way in. A number of the screws were not put back in after it was replaced at the end of the oil change. The effect of this was my having to pay for a new splash shield. The other shield was damaged due to it not being screwed back in properly. This, to me, shows a lack of care and respect for the customers. I will never return to this Strickland Brothers location. It's a shame! I had previously been a returning customer, but times do change. read more

This place can't never have staff for state inspections. If they do, it is hit or miss. You can't even call to verify anything because it goes to recording. Why even have phone number to the shop if they aren't never going to answer the phone!!! Wrote to corprat but all they is sorry but no action on fixing the issue. I needed the state inspection for my car taken care of today and visited SB as I've been here for oil changes etc and knew the service would be reliable and quick. They worked rather quickly to run my car through all the necessary inspections and they were quick and efficient. They left copies of the needed paperwork on my seat and also emailed a copy of the receipt. read more

Here for an inspection. They apparently do inspections and oil changes in both bays even though the signage is only for the right bay, and they don't monitor who shows up before who, which is frustrating if you're on a schedule, and they don't talk to you before you pull into the bay. The work is decent but it's more like 20 minutes for an oil change, not counting the half hour wait beforehand. read more

I have been taking my vehicles here for the last 12 years. This place has gone downhill ever since it became Stricklands. I took my RV to be inspected here as I have for the last 11 years. They told me they couldn't do it because it won't fit in their bay even though they have done it the last 11 years. They told me they have been doing it illegally the last 11 years!! Had my oil changed on 2 vehicles at this location many times without issues. The last time I was there they did not tighten my oil filter and a quart of oil leaked out of my van. I just happened to find this after parking in my driveway. Now there is an oil stain on driveway that will not come out. Poorly managed, only has one state inspector who is either in the hospital, out to lunch, or only there on certain days. Tried 3 times to get my vehicle inspected with zero success. I went there to get an oil change and tires rotated. It was 6:20pm and they close at 7pm. One of the bays had a truck in it, and there was one car behind it. The second bay was empty. The attendant said it was too late in the day to take me. Having been there, I know the typical service takes about ten minutes, and they could easily fit me in. Was hesitant to get an oil change somewhere that promised such quick service but I was way overdue and decided to take the chance. Service was great! I was nervous but Jared checked me in quickly and his charisma really made me feel more comfortable. I was in and out super quickly and my car is running like a dream. I went to MERF/Quick Change Oil & Lube to get an oil change and inspection. The staff was friendly, they explained everything they were doing, they did an outstanding job, and their prices were reasonable. The service was great, but a few months later I discovered they had not put my oil pan guard back on my car. :( read more

Super nice folks and great advice! I highly recommend them. I pulled my Tesla into their parking lot after hitting a pothole and having the low tire pressure indicator light up. Rather than telling me sorry, we can't work on electric cars, they asked me how they could help!! There were smart enough to know they should not put my car on a lift, as it might cause electric battery damage. Crawling underneath, it took them all of 2 minutes to diagnose the inside sidewall tire damage from the pothole, as well as notice a nail in a different tire. They recommended I did not drive the car, as it could be unsafe. When I said I was willing to take a chance anyway for the few remaining miles I had to go, they put air in the tire for me and wished me well. All at no charge.... what wonderful, helpful folks! read more

Consistently good service and very professional. Prices are on par with other facilities. Usually in and out in under 30 minutes.

I use MERF for all my vehicle inspections. If I don't have time, they take care of oil changes and tire rotations, too. They are fast and friendly. I've never had an issue or complaint after their work was complete. read more
