He ran a blood test and found that her blood glucose level was low, which was the reason for her seizures. He ensured she was hydrated and kept her there for the entire day. Dr. Sandhu explained everything he would be doing and was always professional; he truly cared about Harley's well-being. When it was time to pick her up, Harley looked better, but by that time, Dr. Sandhu had already left for the day. Dr. Navreen was the one who released Harley, and she seemed unaware of what was happening. I asked her what I should do if Harley has another seizure, and she appeared surprised, as if she didn't know what to advise. Eventually, she told me to take Harley to the emergency clinic. I explained that I had already paid this vet $1,190, so I wouldn't be able to afford the emergency care. She paused, seemingly uncertain about what I should do next. I then asked if I could have some medication in case of an emergency, and she gave me some meds. A month later, I brought my other puppy, Chip, to this vet when he was almost a month old. He was constipated, which led to dehydration and a drop in his blood glucose level. Dr. Navreen was the doctor who attended to Chip. I explained the situation to her, but she didn't seem to care about what I was saying. I asked if she would give Chip medication because I was aware his blood glucose levels were low. She waited at least 7 to 10 minutes before taking him to the back to administer the medication. Six minutes later, she came out and told me that my puppy had passed away before they could do anything. I asked her what had happened, and she mentioned that she was going to take a blood sample from the vein in his neck. When she returned Chip to me, I noticed he smelled like rubbing alcohol, which the vet tech later said they applied to his neck. However, it also smelled like it was in his mouth. I questioned how she was going to perform the blood test since the area on his neck hadn't been shaved. I cannot recommend Dr. Navreen; she is unprofessional and does not care about pets. However, I do highly recommend Dr. Sandhu for his dedication and care. Dr. Navreen does not need to work with any pets her energy is negative. She killed my puppy. I pray she sees my review.

When Bubba was recently diagnosed with diabetes, I felt overwhelmed and unsure of what to expect. Dr. Pinon took the time to explain everything clearly and gave me treatment options, including insulin or medication, so I could make the best decision for Bubba. I really appreciated that she respected my choice and helped me feel confident moving forward with the medication route. She has been patient, compassionate, and thorough every step of the way. She answers questions without making me feel rushed and genuinely cares about both her patients and their owners. Managing a new diagnosis can be stressful, but her guidance has made it feel much more manageable. I truly appreciate the care Bubba has received and feel lucky to have Dr. Pinon helping us through this journey.

A routine dental cleaning for my two dogs turned into a traumatic, expensive nightmare due to sheer…read moreincompetence and a disgusting lack of transparency. They "only" charged $3400 for the cleanings, and failed to ask us if we are OK for them to remove all teeth from what used to be one of our dog's cute overbite. We also had to pay another $1500 for a follow-up emergency visit because they injured the other dog (and failed to tell us about it). Doctor must have a twisted sense of reality, because they told me the dogs did "fantastic" when I was called after the procedure. Dog 1: Permanent Disfigurement without Consent They extracted all six lower incisors from one of my dogs without a single phone call to discuss the necessity or get my consent. They effectively destroyed his signature look and "overbite" forever. We dropped off our cute dog and picked up a "small beast" with only two visible lower canines, all because they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone. And I will be requesting the x-rays and get a second opinion in the necessity of the extractions, because the other incident described below shattered my confidence in their competence. Dog 2: Injury and Cover-Up While my other dog was under anesthesia, the staff managed to lacerate both of his ears while trimming his face. Let that sink in: they cut a dog that was chemically immobilized and not moving. Even worse, the doctor called me afterward and emphatically stated both dogs did "fantastic," choosing to deliberately hide the injuries. They didn't mention a word of it during the face-to-face pickup, either. Dog 2: Late night emergency follow-up visit We only discovered the injured ears after getting home. When we called, they downplayed the cuts as "no big deal" and admitted they had used skin glue to fix one cut. They didn't even provide an e-collar. A few hours later, my dog was bleeding profusely--blood was literally pooling on the floor. We had to rush him to an emergency vet where we discovered the cuts were so deep they required actual sutures. Because of this clinic's "minor" mistake, my small dog had to be put under anesthesia twice in less than 12 hours. And we had to foot a $1500 emergency bill, after an incident that traumatized our family.

He's an indoor and outdoor cat however since raccoons have been around my area, I've started bringing my cat indoors at night. He managed to get out and ended up being in a fight with a stray cat. Once he was inside, my family and I noticed feces on him so my son washed him. Perhaps a drop of water got into his nasal cavity and he started having trouble breathing while gagging and retching. We thought he had something obstructing his throat. When we arrived to VCA, there were NO customers in the lobby which was a relief. The receptionist moved quickly, took our cat to the back and we were brought to a exam room to wait. Soon, we were told another pet was being seen before ours because the other pet needed care immediately. That's odd as a cat in breathing distress seems to be very urgent but apparently not at VCA hospital. The receptionist kept us abreast of what was happening until she came to tell us that she was closing our exam door because an aggressive dog was coming to the hospital. I appreciated that attention but once the door was closed, it seemed like we were forgotten. After a hour and twenty five minutes, I left the exam room to inquire from the receptionist desk at which point Dr. Haley Collins FINALLY came to our exam room. Her tone was crude and unfriendly. She was curt, unapologetic and relatively rude. She wasn't forthright with information to the point that I needed to ask questions about the costs. I asked her if she could detect if there was something in my cats throat to which she replied that my cat hissed at her. Hmm, that's what cats do. After she left my exam room, I overheard her exchange with the next customers (Caucasians) in the next room and she was very different with them as her attitude was pleasant, bubbly and energetic. She was gracious and friendly unlike what she presented us. I decided not to get the care from VCA hospital and paid the exam fee which Dr Collins didn't do. I basically paid for Dr Collins to be rude to me. It always preplexes and baffles me when other marginalized people like Asians are prejudice, intolerant, and rude to other marginalized people. I have been to VCA once before and I've never experienced this conduct from a vet. It was extremely disappointing and drastically contrary to what I experienced at SAGE hospital in Concord. Thank goodness for Yelp as people need to know how disrespected customers feel at some businesses with rude and prejudice "professionals". I paid a bit more at SAGE hospital in Concord and it was much farther from my house BUT the care I received was exceptional. VCA hospital took my exam fee $180.10 and did absolutely NOTHING. It just burns my soul knowing that businesses can charge you for no care. I wish I could give -

Told me they would call back with the results. They never called me back. There were other issues as well. I had only been at Fairview for a month and basically had enough that fast. When I arrived at Brentwood they were on time. The vet had asked me what was my purpose for this visit. I told her that I was looking for a new vet and I want to know what my cat's follow up blood test for his thyroid was because I hadn't heard from Fairview. She did a physical exam and went over the test that was sitting on fairview's desk for 10 days. She showed me the test results and went over everything. She adjusted his medication and adjusted his diet. She told me that I no longer needed to give him the other medications that I had paid for at Fairview until we get his thyroid issues under control. I apparently I paid for meds that weren't even necessary. She adjusted his diet as well. They treated me like a doctor would for your child. When I called, they were able to get me in the same day. Our kitty was suffering from her recurring seasonal cough, but instead of starting treatment, we were told multiple tests were required first. We ended up spending hundreds of dollars on tests that, in hindsight, did not appear necessary. Concerned about the approach, we sought a second opinion from another veterinarian. They performed only the essential tests, prescribed medication, and our kitty recovered within just a few days. I later contacted the clinic to request a partial refund for what I believed were unnecessary tests, but my request was declined. Every pet owner should make their own decision, but based on our experience, we felt the focus was more on generating revenue than providing compassionate, cost-effective care. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!! my cat has had recurring tummy issues so i thought i needed to take her in. this was one of the first places i called and they said they would take her right away. they SEEMED nice but i think knowledge and care is important too. after a ton of tests and a TON of money, they didn't find any underlying issues with her. after providing the results, they didn't recommend any treatment plan. one of the vets did call me back the next day to ask what food she was being given, but nothing came of that conversation. nothing improved so i asked if there was anything else i could do. they suggested more testing so i agreed. they said they didn't find anything so they offered a prebiotic and sent me on my way. i honestly should have advocated more and asked for a treatment plan/food prescription, but this was my first time taking my cat to the vet on my own and i was stupidly expecting them to do their job with all the money i had spent. fast forward a couple months later, i had to take my cat to the emergency because of the same tummy problems. there they prescribed her some food that's supposed to be really good quality. the vet at the emergency hospital thought it was handled very poorly by fairview, and i agree. they should have prescribed a new food or SOMETHING TO HELP HER. my cat started having another issue, this time urinary. i called this morning and asked if my kitty could be seen and they offered me an appointment later in the day. its hard to get my cat in the carrier so i kindly asked if there was a possibility to see her sooner. the girl i was speaking to cut me off with an attitude saying that there was no sooner appointments. absolutely not her fault there were no sooner appointments, but i hung up immediately because i don't have time for a bitchy little attitude. i followed up with a new vet and my cat is now on a treatment plan and is rapidly improving. i wish i could've saved a couple thousand by going elsewhere in the first place, but i'm glad my cat didn't end up hurt or dead. i will never come back here and neither should anyone else.
