Everything about the appearance of this place, from the menu font to the neon sign, was a '90s nostalgia trip in the best way possible. We had lunch here and chose a few items from their huge menu. I got the "tiki torches" (coconut chicken fingers that came with "lizard sauce" [a bbq sauce?] and tangerine honey); neither of the sauces really did it for me (maybe a honey mustard would have been better than just straight honey), but the chicken was good. I also got a side of their pasta salad since I love Hawaiian Mac salad and this was a tasty version. My husband ordered the Shark Attack Cheeze Fries, covered with molten cheese and bacon and served with "beach sauce" (the sauces could use better descriptors, honestly). A full order was HUGE so he had leftovers. The setting was very fun with a beachy vibe (obviously!) and we had a friendly, efficient server. Always love this place, is it showing its age? In an empty restaurant tried to sit us in the dark bar instead of the bright festive dining room. The sauces did not measure up to what I remember, they seemed not homemade. I hope they go back to some handcrafted goodness of their old days. read more

We waited an hour to be seated while we watched nearly everyone else be seated and were the only ones left waiting. After being extremely patient, we finally asked the hosts when we would get our table. We were told, "we texted you 30 minutes ago." I showed them my phone, no text. What's worse is they made no effort to see if we were still waiting. Which left us wondering if they'd even notice us if we were still waiting by closing time. Lots of dining choices in Paducah, but this place sounded both fun and promising. First, they don't take reservations, but they do have a wait-list process on their website.....which doesn't work quite right. When we (party of 5) arrived, the site listed 'no wait time', which was accurate. We got seated immediately. By the time we left, the place was full, there were people waiting, and the website still said 'no wait time'. The place was clean, cool and spacious. It was a bit loud due to all the hard surfaces and high ceilings, but not overly so. Our waitress, Kara, came over and whispered something. We guessed she might be asking us if we wanted something to drink. Since the regular menu didnt list any drinks and we knew they offered specialty drinks, we asked for the drink menu. She goes back and retrieves one and hands it to my wife. While my wife is looking at the drink menu she asks if the rest of us want a drink. We said sure we would, after we get to look at the drink menu. She gave us a blank stare and whispered to my wife, asking her if she chose a drink yet. My wife said she'd need a few minutes to look at the menu. So, Kara just leaves. Doesn't come back with more drink menus, but waits until each of us read the drink menu and passed it round to each other. After we order our drinks, Kara brought them out one by one....four trips for 5 drinks. The drinks were great, by the way. Kara whispered again, and we think she asked if we were ready to order. So we ordered. It was a mind-numbing back and forth with her as each of our party tried to understand what she was saying. This would be the theme with her throughout the entire meal. She wasn't rude at all, just meek, detached, stoic and super quiet. When she came back with the orders she had no idea who ordered what and the whispered dialogue continued with her saying 'who ordered the _____?' and us saying 'um, what did you say?' over and over and over. Anyway, the food was excellent and plentiful. Each of us had something different, so we had a great sampling of their menu on our table. There was almost nothing left on our plates when we finished. That's pretty rare. We almost didnt get to sample dessert, because our check came before we were asked (or maybe we were asked and didn't hear her?), but we eventually got both of their offerings (key lime cake and chocolate cake) and they were delicious. I really loved the fries! Not sure what exactly they were seasoned with (maybe garlic and Parmesan?) but they were sooooo addicting I couldn't stop eating them. I also got the coconut chicken which I wasn't a huge fan of. The coconut batter just didn't go too great on the chicken tenders and they were a little rubbery. I tried the key lime pound cake which was face puckering-ly sweet. I would not get that again. The service was okay but it was within an hour of closing so I know they were busy cleaning up. Glad to make a return visit after 10 years when we were back in town. Love two of our long standing favorites, the Monte Cristo and the Wave. Both were exactly as I remembered (from all 3 locations- 2 Street, Broadway and West End). Sad to see another favorite was missing- bird legs or bamboo sticks or something like that. Love the addition of the fabric sails as it really quieted the building. Service was prompt, but the hostess staff was less than friendly and seemed irritated that they had to stop chatting with each other long enough to wait on us, which isn't behavior you'd expect from two 50 or 60 year old women at noon on a Wednesday. I could have stayed in the big city if I wanted that kind of rudeness. Southern hospitality truly was nonexistent. Other than that brief exchange, the visit went without a hitch and I will forever wish I had the recipe for that smoky, sweet salsa. read more

There is a perk of spending too much time on social media; finding unique spots to visit. We were staying at the state park for the weekend and wanted to give Flamingo Road a try. The inside is going for a tropical vibe which fits but the decorations remind me of decorations you see in a kids play area. It was it what I was expecting but I honestly enjoyed it. Flamingo Row is known for their Fillymingos which is stuffed bread. I went with the 3 cheese roll which was insanely filling. I had 1 piece and was stuffed. If you drive through Paducah Kentucky this is a place to visit for a casual and deliciously different meal. The place was mentioned to me by a work colleague who lives in the area. It was hard to find initially as it is tucked away from all the other eateries. I called for a to go order and the graciously and quickly took my specific order of a Beach Ball Salad without cheese. Now that I have had this cannot imagine using Ranch dressing (). This was hands down one of the best salads with protein I have eaten lately. Bibb, and butter lettuce diced red tomatoes, bacon, two coconut chicken tenders, three slices of fried green tomatoes and a honey horseradish dressing. I was hungry, tbt, but this was a great salad. I would have liked another tender; but again I was hungry. The menu has something for everyone and a great variety. I will go back, maybe even before I leave town this week! read more

Large menu that offers a lot, from coconut chicken & waffles to seafood, to jerk chicken pasta & more. All with a Caribbean flair. Menu is maybe a bit too big, as it took the kitchen a long time to get the food out (we waited over an hour & noticed long waits for other tables as well). Not a place to eat if you're in a hurry. The waffles are basically cake & were even too sweet for my junk food loving children but everything else was delicious. Not a lot on the menu for restrictive diets like carnivore or Keto. I heard great things about Flaming Row, and I was excited to check it out. After a short wait, we were seated and I really liked the fun, lively atmosphere. Zack was our server and he did a fantastic job. We ordered a couple appetizers (Feeding Frenzy and Nachos) and we were very happy with those. They also had a nice variety of drink options. Their sweet tea had some flavor options, and you could order an Arnold Palmer as well. I ordered the Sun Rumba Burger, and I was glad that I did. So I was in here a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember the name of the burger I got, but it was really good and cooked the way I wanted. I tried out the potato salad as a side, and it was Mayo based. Just personal preference, but mustard based is my favorite kind of potato salad. It was still good though. Now for the star of the show...the loaded fries! A carpet of cheese and big, thick cuts of bacon. These are served with a spicy, Mayo like sauce that's really good. These things were lights out! Wifey had blackened mahi mahi tacos. There were three with very little fish and bland as far as taste goes. A pile of melted white cheese covered the tasteless trio. Substituted a side salad for the original side. Thought the sub was even but realized $1.70 up-charge for the salad. Ticked me off when the bill came. I ordered the chicken tacos. There were three nice pieces of chicken coated with batter and placed in a shell with a few tomato bits and cheese. The side was chips and cheese caso dip which came to the table cold. Chicken was very good. Service was average at best and prices were a premium for what was brought to the table. I did not tip well, which is a real change for me because I like to tip generously, because overall we were really disappointed given the build up we received from a local. I had the turkey club on a croissant (that is not the name but I can't remember the name) with pasta salad and my wife had the bacon cheeseburger carmilized onions. My wife devoured the half pound burger. It was juicy and the carmilized onions added sweetness to her burger. The fries, which I syole quite a few, were really crispy - just the way I love them. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants not only in Paducah, but all around. Their menu is extensive with something to please most everyone. Their "potions" are amazing, and their service is outstanding. If dining in, I love their Caribbean/Jamaican "beachy" vibe from the bright colors to the metal palm trees. Sometimes we just get takeout though and it is consistently made to perfection. Some things I have had are the Cuban mojo, the Big Kahuna burger, Beach Ball Salad, Gulf Breeze Nachos, Coconut Chicken Tenders, etc. My husband's favorite is the Jamaican Jam. The portions are huge! They have the best bartender staff as well. I have gotten to know them from picking up my to go orders. They know me by now I go there so often. I am always met with a smile! Unexpected gem! My parents and I are traveling through and came across this restaurant due to its number of high reviews on TripAdvisor. I wasn't sure I understood an island vibe restaurant in Kentucky, but we went with it. I'm glad we did. My dad ordered the big kahuna burger and for someone with a large appetite, he couldn't even finish it. He said the burger patty was delicious! My mom tried one of their signature fillymingo stuffed breads. She wanted to try the Monte Cristo, but they were already sold out so we opted for the club. The bread shell was soft and you could tell it was homemade. Think of it like a softer version of a calzone. Very good and again... She couldn't finish the whole thing. Finally, I opted for the Tijuana tacos. I'm still not sure I liked cheese on my fish, but the tacos had pretty good flavor, they were packed full of fish and toppings, and even the avocado was fresh. The tacos also came with a coconut rice that my mom couldn't stop helping me eat. If you're passing through town, definitely go with this local option! Finally, as someone that's taking Covid precautions very seriously, I appreciated their carry out service. We ordered over the phone and the food was ready when they said it would be.
