Though he specializes in wood fireplaces and would not be able to assist with my request at this time, he spent quite some time on the phone with me answering the many questions I had about my fireplace, and how I might be able to get it up to snuff. So rare to find a professional who is willing to give such detailed advice with no monetary gain for himself, and it was very obvious that he really knew what he was talking about. I called this company today to ask about getting a chimney liner. I was told by another company that I did not have a liner for my wood stove and would need one, so I wanted a few quotes. Unfortunately, I did not catch the gentleman's name that I spoke to. He told me that they do not install liner's anymore, but stayed on the phone with me for several minutes to explain things and give me an idea of what I should do. Even though I wouldn't be a customer he took the time to speak with me and be extremely helpful. This business had great communication and good pricing for their services. We bought a house and had a fireplace for the first time ever and after seeing reviews for them on google and yahoo and checking with the better business bureau (they have had zero complaints ever lodged) I booked an appointment with them over email. Emails were answered quickly on the same day, often within the hour during the booking process. When they came out to my house, they called the day before to confirm the time window. They gave me a window between 8am to 9am and were there by 8:30, and the inspection took less then a half an hour. The inspector and his assistant were very nice, professional and patient in answering questions. In addition to our fireplace we also had an old 1970's coal/wood stove in our basement and he was able to assess its safety (not useable anymore) and was very upfront about the condition of the flue for that stove. Other places might have said to clean it just to charge us, but he was honest and said as long as we were not replacing the downstairs stove it didn't need cleaning but if we were to install a modern wood stove to get it done. I appreciate that they didn't try to get the extra cost out of us for a service that wasn't necessary. They inspected the fireplace, downstairs stove and climbed our roof to check the chimney itself for $125.00. I consider it money well spent for good service. read more

Recently moved to glastonbury and bought a house with 3 fireplaces. Figured we needed them inspected and cleaned. We called another company, they came out cleaned the chimneys and proceeded to tell us none of the fireplaces were usable and we would need extensive work done. They would never supply us an estimate for work that needed to be done. So we called strictly chimneys. Mike was prompt, courteous and full of info. He scheduled us a few weeks out(busy season) but penciled us in for a day that maybe his guys could come by. Two days before that penciled in day, mike called and asked if they could come a day earlier. Very grateful for that! Mario came out, reinspected and low and behold although some work was required it was not as dire as we were told. I quickly sent an email to Strictly Chimneys that same day at about 11 AM.........at 5 PM, when the two technician's were finished at my neighbor's house, they came over to my house. We were converting from oil heat to gas and needed our chimney lined. The house was built in 1864, and the interior of the chimney presented many problems to the crew, including one liner rendered useless. The men worked very long hours tirelessly and without complaint, not even stopping for lunch. When the first liner proved unusable, Mike, the owner, overnighted another liner. He never complained about the money and time he lost on the job. He called up after the job was over to make sure the men installing the boiler had had no problems with the chimney.
