I used to live in CA and found my Babalot Fury Pickleball shoes here and loved them! I recently went there on vacation and went to buy a new pair, the ladies were great helping me, however I should have left and checked prices elsewhere. They did not have the Fury (discontinued) so I bought the Mach 3. I paid cash, it was cheaper by $10 if I did, but I was charged either $120 or $130 for the shoes (did not keep receipt). I am now home and researching Babalot shoes (as I do not like the Mach 3 at all) and the prices are way cheaper, as low as $71 - $99. So if you are not on a budget, having to watch your money, you are fine, otherwise shop around! read more

I love this in Dana Point small business!! It was recommended by our tennis instructor at Dana Hills Tennis Center and I am so glad that he recommended coming here over ordering some thing on Amazon or from Dick's. The ladies (perhaps the owners) working at the store were so helpful and friendly! They helped my boys pick out just the right size and style tennis racket. They even gave us a complimentary case to keep it in. If you're worried that the store will be more expensive than Amazon, you shouldn't. Our rackets were no pricier than they would be ordered online. In fact, we probably would've paid more for shipping. I highly recommend coming to the String for all of your tennis needs! read more

We were on the hunt for a new tennis racket for my son. His tennis instructor told us about String in Dana Point. After mistakingly going into the hair salon downstairs we found the location upstairs. It's a small place, but has what you need with extremely knowledgeable staff. Missy helped my son and made some great suggestions. Since he wasn't sure she even let him try out two rackets before deciding. He found the one he loved and we were happy to give them our business. We almost blindly picked a racket off the wall at Dick's but we are glad we came here instead. Been coming to Tony for a couple years now. He does a great job of getting to know your game, and recommending the right racket, string, and grip combo. From the get go he let me borrow multiple demo rackets and zeroed me in from there. My elbow started getting tendinitis and Tony correctly suggested a better grip width and a softer set of strings with the proper tension. The customization made all the difference! Tony at String is the real deal! I thought my three Prince rackets from when I played in college were kaput, but he put hours into fixing them up (cleaned the frames, replaced the bumper guards, wrapped new Tourna grips) and now they look brand new! He also shipped them to my office, which was very convenient for me since I don't live near his shop. It's important to me to support local businesses (especially tennis) and I would definitely go to Tony again for all of my tennis needs! read more
