Myrtle Avenue Brewing - Jacksonville Florida Rail Yard District - Beer
    David P.

They have done a great job with this little nook in the Rail Yard District of Jacksonville. It's not an area I get to often living at the Beach, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, and the beers were really outstanding from the lightest lager to the strongest IPA (I tried a few LOL).

Hubby and I are always on a mission to find great local beer. We finally had a chance to try Myrtle Ave Brewing and it did not disappoint. This brewery has the best vibe! It's located in the rail yard district, close to downtown and they have ample parking out back. I loved the variety of seating options both inside and outside - couches, barstools, Adirondack chairs, tables, benches. Also lots of areas for kids to hang out and play. It's possibly the most kid-friendly brewery I've seen. We tried a few different brews and all were great. I really enjoyed the coffee Porter. Definitely worth stopping in for a quick brew!

Love the service always!!! Great open area outside and inside. Family friendly. I've tried the food twice really pleased both times. Beer selection is always good! Must try love this place!!!

I checked out Myrtle Ave Brewing this weekend as I was attending an event next door. Cute outside area with wonderful smelling bbq for sale. Inside was cool! The tap area seemed to have gold on the wall behind the taps. Very sheik and classy. If you have kids, there were games and toys to entertain your children while you relax. They also sold a snack pack with cheese, crackers and other snacks. I loved the casual area in the back corner with vintage couches and chairs. Made me feel right at home. The service was good and the beer was tasty;) I'll be back to try some other draft options.

Myrtle Ave Brewing is a place that makes me happy when I know I'm coming near their area are able to stop in. I always enjoy their IPA's and their vibe is kick back. They have a great outdoor space and had a vendor cooking up some BBQ. Smelt delicious... f you can catch a event here it's usually a good one and They are family friendly so bring the kids, bring the dog and for sure bring grandma...

Thanks to the Jax Ale Trail, we've been to seemingly every brewery in the area. This is our second time working through the trail so we were excited to visit Myrtle Ave since they were added this year. I'll get the minor complaint out of the way: the staff. Don't get me wrong, we weren't treated horribly or anything but no one we interacted with seemed to care that we were customers. Again, this isn't a huge deal overall but we're just kind of used to really nice, talkative people at all the breweries in the area. The guys we interacted with were just kinda like "what do you want? OK, here you". Not rude, but not nice if that makes sense. Everything else was GREAT. We liked the inside but we really liked the outside. There's tons of seating both in completed cover and partially covered areas. Like many breweries, it's pet friendly and kid friendly which is great too. We will definitely be back to spend more time here.

Great place if you have kids. There is a play area outside and inside the brewery. There is a BBQ pop up outside and they host other food trucks/businesses through out the week. They also have nitro cold brew from a local roaster on tap! The bar tenders and staff are super friendly and can help you with any suggestions or questions you may have. Whole there I saw that they host classes throughout the month. I saw pasta making! If your in the area check them out!

Beautifully renovated! More space available inside. Beer selections were very good! The only 2 things I didn't like was that it was very dark inside. However, during the cooler months they have the ability to open up the garage doors. Also, when you walk in the children's play area is right by the door. Toys were on the floor and someone could easily trip on one or even the children playing. The play area might be better in the corner. But, we'll definitely be back!

We were at the glass factory next door for a Yelp Event and we crept over here to get a beer. I really like the atmosphere and vibe of this place. A nice selection of beer and the bar area was really cool. They also had a cool "lounge" area with a few games to occupy your time as you drink .... and of course some TV's for your sports viewing pleasure. Looks like another Brewery to add to my rotation.

This is Myrtle-she is very friendly!

We love supporting our local craft breweries! Very good beer, bartender was super friendly, the outside patio was comfortable, and the building is so very cool! I couldn't get enough of Myrtle the cat who greeted us immediately when we walked through the door!

Listening to the jazz band outside! On Thursday nights 6-8 they will be playing
    Lauren R.

How awesome is this place?! Dog friendly. Toddler friendly . Blues, Brews & BBQ on Thursday nights from 6-8 means the jazz band is popping. The 'food truck' bbq is smokin'! And the brews are on tap. Enjoyed the coffee rub pork belly with Mac and cheese. The dry cider was nice! And I liked the tangerine lime sour. Brought my morkie Arrow and the kids were loving playing with him. So many toys and little playground spots for the children. My favorite part was the live band and the indoor/outdoor open flow.

    So spacious
    Ryan C.

Such a cool atmosphere! So spacious and well designed, which is great cause I can see us sitting here for HOURS drinking some incredible beer. We are so glad that there is another awesome brewery in town to check out and if you like beer, take some time and come visit. I had the Springfield Sour (collab with Historically Hoppy) and my wife had the Snake Bite (Silver Dollar Lager with MAB Special Dry Cider) and we loved them both.

    Comfy seating area

After soccer at Love's Indoor Soccer Field, everyone should go to Myrtle Ave Brewing. Every bar should have an indoor play area, comfy seating area and playground. The service was quite excellent, the food limited to North Carolina Barbecue bit good if that's what you're craving. See my photos below.

Inside is a little tight, but it is an old building with naked bricks, historic decor, a good sized bar and tables inside. Outside is a deck with covered tables, another area for corn hole and a food truck which has all the major bar food groups including churros. Sean was my beertender and he really was the best. They have a policy of holding your card for tabs which I really hate, but he made me feel comfortable about leaving my life in his hands. When I first walked in on a weekday during happy hour, it was pretty light, but around 4:30p the place started filling up. Happy hour is Monday - Friday until 6pm and they have 18 taps which qualify for happy hour. Plus they had 3 guest taps, both ciders. Ruby Beach has a mug club, it is about $80 for the year. You get a free beer on Tuesday as well as your own numbered mug. It is limited. So exclusive in fact that they do a raffle every August. My friend ordered us the Pork Belly Kimchi Fries, I got us an order of the Cheese Curds, and for my entree I got an order of the Asian Sticky Wings. I probably would have never ordered the kimchi fries on my own. Sometimes kimchi can be fickle and really hit or miss. It was definitely a hit here. More on the sweet and tangy side but worked really well. Fries seasoned perfectly, and the pork belly cubed and cooked to perfection. Out of all of the times I've been to Wicked Barley, these fries have to be one of the best items I've had from there. Cheese curds were pretty basic. Tasted great, but nothing to write home about. If you like Cheese curds, you'll enjoy theirs. I originally had my eye on the jerk chicken wings and I was warned by the waitress and my friend that they are REALLY hot. Jerk chicken is generally one of those thats right on the borderline of too hot for me. To give you an idea, if you're familiar with Butthutt BBQ's jerk chicken, theirs is as far as I can go for spice level. So I switched it up to be safe, and I am glad I did. Sweet and sticky, these had really great flavor inside and out. Would definitely get these again in the future. Brought a couple home to the hubby and he seemed to enjoy them too, and he normally doesn't like, what he refers to as, "sweet meat". I had three different beers in my favorite tasting style, sour. I had the PB&J sour, the mango sour, and the orange cream sour. The orange cream was my favorite of the 3. We enjoyed the sounds of the band Splittone in the background and enjoyed the whole vibe of our meal.
