This place is over looked but was filled with locals. Really fresh oysters and mahi. I don't really care about service if my fish is fresh and tasty (our waiter was great!). The grouper fish tacos were the best and the raw oysters.

Needed updated menu online - have added photo to show prices as of 4/4/25 choose accordingly. Would not return. Waiter was kind. However ended up eating half our meal in the dark, arrived at sunset but being left in the dark just leave a bad taste in my mouth aside form mediocre food. The French dip was good, everything else was meh

Stripers is the best restaurant and service is even better. Emma was our waitress and she made great recommendations and was so friendly. I went with all of her recommendations and they were spot on! Thanks Emma! Best lobster bisque with hush puppies and honey butter! Crabcake sandwich was amazing with no filler at all. We also had the meatloaf and it was the best meatloaf ever.

Stumbled upon Stripers when we were going into Manteo and I'm so glad we did! The food was great; we had the cream of crab soup, crab dip, loaded bloody marys, ceasar salad, open face prime rib sandwich, and lobster street tacos. The lobster tacos were amazing. I got an extra side of the citrus aioli and it was so good. The tequila lime ceasar dressing was sooo good. We'll definitely be back again when we come to NC!

Went for an early dinner before driving across to see The Lost Colony. We arrived around 5:30 and were seated quickly. The staff were friendly enough and service was pretty quick but with the exception of the crab dip, the food was meh. My husband had the crab cakes which were ok but didn't hold together well. I had fried shrimp which you can't really mess up but the seasoning was bland. The coleslaw was good though. There is upstairs and downstairs dining space, so lots of seating and upstairs has a water front view as long as you're not stuck in a far corner like we were.

Let me tell you that this place is hard to find, but once you find it and try their fresh fish, you'll want to keep coming back. This bar and grille is nestled in a little condo community on the water with docks. Your GPS might not know where to go, as ours didn't, and we had to use Google Maps. We were immediately seated when we walked in and decided to eat outside under the sun and with great views of the water. I had a bloody Mary and it was great. Very potent and I was extremely good after one, plus they are filling. My mom and I decided to split our meals, so we each ordered something that we would want to try and share. We went with the soft shell crab BLT with fries and the local grouper with potato salad. Both were so amazing. This was the first place we went to where we fell in love with the fresh local seafood in North Carolina. Each fish was done great and we were so full that I didn't eat the bread part of the grouper. The BLT soft shell crab was definitely a sandwich that will always be on my mind.

Lobster Bisque and side of fries

My family and I stopped in for a quick lunch, and the food was incredible. By far the best lobster bisque I've ever had and something about their fries goodness they were delicious. The view from our table of the sound was beautiful and our service was great. Counting down the days until we can come back!

Fun place with a nice view of the water & boats! We sat outdoors & enjoyed their specialty drinks. Cucumber martini was delish! Ordered the crab dip - OMG it was amazing - this is something you MUST order! Came with crispy pita bread - yum! There were many great things on the menu but we were only there for drinks & an app. Parking is a little difficult - not too many spots as this restaurant is located in a residential condo area. I like this place!

Jambalaya - delicious. Not to spicy, great flavor. Highly recommend.

If you want to get in during high traffic times, definitely call 24-hours ahead. We were seated within 15-minutes of our arrival, in the dining room with a lovely view of the harbor. We noticed most tables had a nice view due to the very open floor plan concept. Our server was lovely: attentive, helpful and pleasant. She patiently answered questions and returned often to check on us, making sure our water glasses were full. It's the little touch's that make a wonderful dining experience. We began our meal sharing the calamari. Really well prepared and quite flavorful. So enjoyed the little peppers and aioli drizzle. Very flavorful. Everyone in our party of 5 was quite pleased with their meals. Our 10-year old granddaughter loved the fries and chose an appetizer chicken wings for her entree. The portion was quite large and tasty. Beware, the dipping sauce ranch has a kick, which she didn't prefer but we enjoyed. My husband and I shared the grand slam seafood trio. Each seafood item was perfectly prepared. With fries and coleslaw, it was more than we could finish. He added a side salad which was very fresh and I had creamy clam chowder (good but not as hot as ai prefer.) Our daughter and friend raved about their fried fish and pork chop diners. 4/5 of us took home leftovers. The view.... So relaxing and peaceful. Our bill came to $188 (without any drinks.). The tab was worth it for a complete fine dining experience (with no need to dress to the nines; it's the beach after all).

The food was very good and the service was excellent. There is a nice selection of cocktails on the menu and some nice wine choices. The biggest negative - I felt that the meal was pricey for what we got but overall we enjoyed our dinner.

Also, my husband and I asked to share an appetizer and the portion was extremely generous, a nice touch! When it comes to the negatives, most of what I am going to point out has been mentioned previously in other reviews with the establishment ensuring efforts will be made for improvement. If I were to describe this place in a sentence I would say " fine dining with cheap gastro-pub atmosphere ". Waiting staff needs training in BASIC waiting skills such as, don't plop main course dishes on the table while guests are still eating their appetizers ( that was a first. never happened to us before ). Another faux pas , getting the bill while still enjoying our delicious desserts. Staff was running to and fro and in the relatively small space and it creates a chaotic atmosphere. The place is also extremely loud but diners tend to speak loudly at restaurants, very different in Europe. Finally, I made this reservation a few weeks ago to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. A big deal. From the website I was expecting fine dining with a refined atmosphere where guests are treated with careful attention to details . These simple courtesies make all the difference but unfortunately they are lacking. If the food is great but the overall experience is not, you won't remember the food, you'll remember the experience.

We liked Olives so much, we dined here twice in the same week…read more I recently visited the Outer Banks for a week with my wife and we stayed in Manteo. Prior to arriving in town, I had made a reservation for dinner at Olives for later in the week. The day we arrived, after we unpacked and settled into our rental, we decided to take a walk to explore as we were staying in town. We happened to walk past Olives and decided to look at the menu - and that made us want to go there that night as we did not make any plans that evening and didn't want to get back in the car. I spoke with someone at the host stand and made a reservation for us. I figured I could cancel the reservation for later in the week after we had dinner. (Spoiler: We decided to keep the other reservation.) The food and the service were both excellent. The first night, I had the tri-tip souvlaki which was a special and my wife had the chicken souvlaki from the regular menu. We started with an order of the dolmas and they might be my new favorite. We both enjoyed our dinner and a nice booth with a view of the marina. We ordered a piece of the baklava to go. The second visit, we started with the hummus appetizer and I had the Keftedes and my wife ordered the gyro. The keftedes was so delicious with the tomato-based sauce. Luckily I had some pita to dip in that sauce. My wife enjoyed the gyro and I enjoyed the bite I got to try. The restaurant has a few greek wines on their menu but not a lot of selection. The restaurant is on the smaller side but they do have a few tables outside in the courtyard which in the nice weather is a good option and helps with capacity. I do recommend having a reservation, though. Everyone of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Topanga for giving us some great tips on places to visit in the OBX.

Unfortunately, the restaurant had already sold out of one of its signature dishes, moussaka, even though the owner had enthusiastically recommended it while speaking with us at our table. The suggested substitute, pastitsio, did not meet expectations. The béchamel layer was sparse and lacked the rich, creamy character that defines the dish, and the ziti pasta appeared to have been overcooked (even for a casserole) during reheating of a pre-prepared serving. One aspect of the meal left me puzzled. Why serve Greek rice alongside a dish that already contains plenty of starch? Greek cuisine offers so many wonderful vegetable accompaniments that would have provided better balance and showcased the flavors of the region, including fasolakia, briam, yemista, gigantes plaki, or kolokithakia tiganita. On the positive side, the staff remained attentive throughout our meal, kept our water glasses full, and genuinely tried to accommodate us. However, they did not seem fully familiar with which menu items were available (wait staff need to check the 86 board before and during service!). Several tables offer pleasant views overlooking the park and wharf, which adds to the atmosphere. I also would have enjoyed seeing more of the classic blue-and-white décor that evokes the charm of a seaside taverna in Greece. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but the execution of the food and the dining experience fell short of the expectations created by the menu and the recommendations.
