First, the value for what you get on the seafood platter compared to the price, so worth it. Popcorn shrimp was excellent, they definitely bread it in house. Seafood Virginia was spectacular. Crab cakes were crispy, everything that was fried had a thin coating, which my family and I prefer. The pan-seared seafood platter was also delicious! The service was quick and nice. Stopped in for lunch and was greeted by an unfriendly, somewhat nasty attitude hostess. Service didn't get much better at the table. Our party of 6 split up to avoid having to wait 45 minutes for a single table to sit us all. We were a party of 4 and another table of 2. We had different waitress and the one table was almost finished their meal before the other table was served even though we sat down at the same time. I was informed the scallops were chewy due to being over cooked and the soft shell crab was fishy tasty like they were not fresh and they cut a small one into two not coming close to filling the taco shell. The peel your own shrimp were also over cooked making it difficult to get the shell off. I will however say the clam chowder was delicious, the she crab soup was a little too rich for me to finish my bowl but was very tasty. The blackened tuna bites were amazing. Casual restaurant and we went for happy hour. The server was great and everyone was friendly. The restaurant wasn't dirty. We went for happy hour. I didn't taste a lot of alcohol in the painkiller, but it was delicious! I did feel the three I drank! At happy hour you fill out a card with how many of each special you want and then you order more as you go. The wings were VERY good! We got them naked and couldn't stop eating them. The shrimp were good, though work for peeling and cleaning. We didn't care for the beef in the tacos. We also got crab dip, a small side salad and onion rings. Everyone enjoyed all of it. Recently moved here from Hawai'i and we decided to go out for dinner and we found this place and let me say the happy hour for shrimp and wings shocked us since the prices in Hawai'i are insane. We've been here a few times. My aunt loves this place. They have the best happy hour specials in the OBX. We came here for lunch on a Sunday. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with fries. The food was pretty good. Loved their fries and their ranch was great too. The wrap felt like it was 70% romaine lettuce with a tiny bit of chicken and other ingredients. We arrived and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice fresh air and breeze that was blowing. We were then notified via text our table was ready and we were seated and almost immediately greeted by our server. The restaurant has a tropical theme atmosphere and the inside is painted nicely to reflect the vibe. The food was good and came out quickly. They have a pretty nice selection of seafood choices. They also have a large drink menu. My girlfriend had the chicken bowl and she really enjoyed it. I had the rajun cajun dolphin sandwich which was very good. The fries were also cooked crispy which I prefer. The 3 fish tacos were a larger portion of food and tasted very good. Overall I would definitely eat here again. The place is bright and colorful inside. We would have been happy to sit at the bar had there not been tables available. The food was "fine" - not bad, not great. We shared some fried okra - I was pleasantly surprised by it - it didn't seem to be frozen - had a really fresh flavor and texture. The shrimp tacos were good - albeit a touch skimpy. We came in here, off-season to get a nightcap before returning to our Airbnb. Yelp said that they were open till nine but when we got there, it was five minutes to eat and they said that they were closing at eight, but we could go to the bar if we weren't ordering food I got one of their mixed drinks and my husband got an old-fashioned. Went on a Monday night, probably our 6th or 7th visit. Food is always on point! I had the Shrimp Tacos and they were so so good. Bonus points to the rice and beans. We were told it was a 45 minute wait and it took about 55 minutes The soft drinks were pretty bad, watered down or the machine needed to be changed. Fried pickles probably needed a bit more bread. This place hit hurst right for us on vacation in the outer banks. The service was swift, polite, and attentive. The happy hour specials were great, cheap apps were excellent. This is my second time trying Hurricane MO's. Came in 2023 but just got a salad. This time I got the she-crab soup. It was creamy and very good! 9/10. Then I got the seared shrimp with Cole slaw and fries. I'm not a big French Fry fan, but they don't serve baked potatoes until after 4pm and we went for lunch. But I have to say, those were the best French Fries that I've had in a very long time. Crispy and seasoned to perfection! The Seared Shrimp was seasoned well and I used the jalapeno sauce that came with my husband's meal and it took it to another level. The Cole Slaw wasn't my favorite. But when you've had really good Cole slaw in your life, it's hard to compete with what you know. My husband got the OBX sampler. It had Tuna, Shrimp, and Mahi Mahi. It was all fried. He said it was great and fried just right. He also loved the French Fries. He got steamed veggies for his side and he said they were seasoned well and loved them. Friendly servers, tasty food (excellent she-crab soup). During high tourist season it's slammed from opening to close, but because it's so dependably good folks wait. Often they will go outside, upstairs, to the "Cat 5 Bar" to have a libation while they wait. The daily happy hour (food specials only in NC) is always crowded no matter the time of year. The inside restaurant can be noisy when large groups are at a single table, but the decor, food, and service more than make up for the noise. Will definitely get it again. My husband and I shared Thai tuna tacos with a chili sauce and a mango salsa. We also shared the Mahi tacos which came with a salsa that had some serious heat to it. Both types of tacos were delicious but between the two, the thai tuna tacos were our favorite. The mahi was cooked perfectly and tasted great. But the flavor on the tuna was amazing. The service was good, especially considering they were busy. Lower marks for the interior. I get that it's a beach side bar, and they may be going for a specific look, but the carpet felt drab and the interior could just use a re-fresh. Not gross or anything, but dated and dull. Such a great lunch, our server, Holly was wonderful and very enjoyable, she's a keeper! Lunch was great, I ordered the Buffalo chicken strips, with Blue cheese dressing, good flavor and heat.
