This place has the best crab cakes! We arrived early for dinner at 415 and we went on a wait list...lol (Only had a 10min wait) Server was great very helpful and friendly, explained the daily specials. Drinks and food arrived quick. Prices are very reasonable. Don't miss out on some great food here next time you are in the Outer Banks

We spent a winter staycay in Kitty Hawk. It was cold has an ice trolls feet! We decided at the last minute to get a bite to eat. I searched "best casual dining close to me" and this place was the first thing that came up, so off we go! The place was small and quaint. It was Christmas time so everyone was dressed in Christmas gear! It was packed too! I see why because the food was great and the service was even greater! I had the crab cakes and they were excellent! I wanted to get that key lime pie but I'm already fat so I let it go. Highly recommend

When I entered, I was at first disappointed by the limited menu that was given. But then you look up at the tv and see the specials, and that is when your mouth really starts to water. The scallops and crab-stuffed fish were a special that would blow your socks off. The scallops were some of the best I have had. The bruschetta at a seafood place was also killer. I feel I may have judged the smaller menu a little too quickly. The dessert lives up to the name of the best key lime pie. The apple dessert is also up there. The staff was great and very knowledgeable about their food. The overall atmosphere was tight but great for families. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We ate here for lunch. When we arrived, there was a sign on the door that said the hostess and to check in for your meal is on the side entrance. So you do have to walk around the side to tell them how many is in your party. The place does not have a waiting area so highly recommend just sending one of your party in to put in the reservation and waiting for the table to be ready. Our server was Taylor. Taylor was standing on business with one of my meals didn't have tomato, bacon jam, and she was on top of it. Awesome person. For the appetizer, we order cheesesteak egg rolls, and it had a red tomato basil dipping sauce on the side very delicious killed whole dish before our main meal came out. me, I had the steak burger very good flavor. They forgot the tomato bacon jam that was supposed to be on it. But even without it, it was such a good flavor profile. our waiter, Taylor got us an a dipping side of the tomato bacon jam so everything was fine. For our next meal, we had the fried shrimp with a side of fries and tartar sauce. Very good crisp taste on it. Good crunch Tartar sauce was absolutely delicious. Side of coleslaw came with the dish. Overall, the restaurant ambience was a bit tight, but that is why they have your party. Wait outside. The waitress was amazing. Made the experience very nice and smooth. And the food was five out of five. Would recommend. Highly.

Absolutely worth the wait! Kill Devil Grill is a must-visit spot when you're in the Outer Banks. The food is consistently excellent--fresh, flavorful, and served with attention to detail that stands out from typical beach fare. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the retro diner vibe adds to the charm. From the blackened flatiron steak to the daily specials and their famous key lime pie, everything is done right. Just a heads-up for weekend diners: if you're coming on a Saturday during peak season, plan ahead. It's not uncommon for the wait to be over an hour--but trust me, it's worth every minute. Most people wait in their cars (text alerts), so bring a good playlist, crack the windows, and settle in for a bit. You'll be glad you stayed.

Kill Devil Grill is one of my favorite spots to eat in the Outerbanks. This place has been here a while now and is very popular with the locals. My favorite are their Chicken Wings. The wings are smoked and grilled then tossed in their signature buffalo sauce. I definitely recommend getting the wings here. The grilled Salmon salad is also one of my favorites. The Citrus Basil salad is so flavorful and really compliments the grilled salmon. If you are in OBX, then definitely check out Kill Devil Grill!

The food was amazing. The scallops dinner special was flavorful. The tomato base sauce was sweet with a little spicy aftertaste. The restaurant is smaller but it makes for a cozy atmosphere to connect with each other. We loved the details in the Christmas lights. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our little ones enjoyed writing their letters to Santa.

This little restaurant is AMAZING... don't be fooled by its exterior... This little restaurant is probably the best on the entire Outer Banks and I have been to almost all the restaurants around here. The staff is amazing and friendly. They treat you like they've known you all their life. Jack and Jen are the two superstars that never let us want for anything.. the worst thing about the evening was the we had to waddle home full and extremely satisfied. This will not be my last trip to this secret in Kill Devil's.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Cannot believe that in the 20 plus years coming to Corolla this was my first time eating here!

A little pricey but the food is pretty good here, we came one evening at it was packed! It appears as a little trailer and I passed by it more than once before realizing what it was. We stopped in and the server was nice, and gave good recommendations, since we're from out of state. We wanted to return on our last day in town, but when we phoned to ask about a promotional offer we heard about, the manager was very short and said "we don't do this" and hung up. Left a bad taste for a previously good experience. Food for thought: good service is just as important as good food.

Whoa, this place gets some traffic! 1pm on a Tuesday and it was a 45 minute wait. We wanted something simple so an order of Wings and fresh catch (Wahoo) Caesar Salad. That was one damn good salad and the wings were massive. I would have preferred them cooked a bit longer. Some of the flats were a bit rubbery but drums were fantastic. Would gladly return. Be patient and enjoy!

I guess the Rockfish tacos were a daily special, so I ordered the "World Famous" Mahi tacos while Ms T ordered a crabcake sandwich. I think we were both a little disappointed. Her sandwich was definitely for bun lovers. She tore off enough bread for another sandwich and still had plenty. Restaurants are often guilty of conflating a huge bun with good sandwich. She was not particularly impressed with the crab cake, saying it was overloaded with thyme. I ordered my Mahi "blackened" and it really was not. The seasonings were good although also heavy with thyme. The flour tortillas were of poor quality, very thin and leathery and not provided hot. Hence the tacos were room temperature when eaten. I liked the finely shredded cheese that was not served refrigerator cold. The white sauce they serve is just wrong for these tacos. It is too sweet, too tart, making it harsh. Instead, I used the sauce that came with her crab cake and that was much better. Finally the mahi was very dry. I guess that is kind of the way that mahi is, but this really needed plenty of sauce. Kudos to them for serving good jasmine rice. This was not as good as we remembered. It is OK, not great and could be improved with just a few changes. We should have tried the burgers.

First, the value for what you get on the seafood platter compared to the price, so worth it. Popcorn shrimp was excellent, they definitely bread it in house. Seafood Virginia was spectacular. We had different waitress and the one table was almost finished their meal before the other table was served even though we sat down at the same time. I was informed the scallops were chewy due to being over cooked and the soft shell crab was fishy tasty like they were not fresh and they cut a small one into two not coming close to filling the taco shell. The peel your own shrimp were also over cooked making it difficult to get the shell off. I will however say the clam chowder was delicious, the she crab soup was a little too rich for me to finish my bowl but was very tasty. The blackened tuna bites were amazing. However despite my meal being good the over consensus was not good.
