The store itself is fairly small. A good selection of quick grocery pick-ups like drinks, toiletries, bread and eggs. Nothing too fancy but enough to keep you from running to a super HEB for one or two items. While I was there, I found a winning scratch-off in the parking lot. I took it inside to give the clerk in case anyone came back looking for it. He tells me "it's only worth two dollars. No one is coming back for it," then asks if I'd prefer cash for it or another ticket. I take another ticket, scratch that one off and win $4. And then no joke, exchange that for one that won $20. I cashed it and took my winnings with me. I haven't decided what I'll buy with it, but that was by far the best experience I've ever had a gas station from start to finish!

Well, look no further because Texaco on Broadway feels more like a beer station, than a gas station! Even though their gas prices are a little high (in my opinion), their beer and wine selection is out of this world. Whenever the hubby feels like a having a new and "interesting" beer, he always visits this Texaco location. They carry a wide selection of Texas beers, but once in a while you can find some very interesting beers that you've probably never seen before. Anyhow! Is your partner not into beer? Not a problem! Because they have a huge selection of wines and hard seltzer.

No prices are listed on the shelves. I asked the employee. He had to walk over to see what I was interested in. I lost my appetite when he told me the 'secret' prices. I understand paying for convenience, but not at nearly double the grocery store price. Hagen Daz was $7.99, Ben and Jerry was $8.99. These are the 14-16oz containers. To make a long story short, I was confronted by an employee (young guy - black - his purple underwear were all hanging out of his pants) who demanded that I put a 12-pack of Dos XX back in the same exact place where I got it from. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, as I would have willingly done this on my own. But since he decided to be negative and rude about it, I basically told him that he should handle it because he worked there, not me. At that point, he became confrontational and started shouting "well you got it out so you should put it back !" Rude! I informed his colleague, who was very nice (complete opposite from the confrontational employee) and also offered the manager for me to speak with. I just decided to let it go, but still feel that I should share my negative experience with others. On a completely separate note, this location is the only Valero I have ever heard of that prominently displays a sign that reads "This location does NOT give out free coffee when the Spurs win." It's not the only gas station in Olmos Park, but it's cheaper than the one on the Circle. This is a pretty small gas station, with only a couple of pumps. The inside isn't much larger. There's cold drinks and lotto. The clerks have always been friendly to me. They sell beer and ice too. The gas seems to be cut with ethanol, if that matters to you. Prices are about where you'd expect them to be for a convenience store. There's a HEB nearby, with gas and cheaper prices, but if you need to jump in and jump out, I guess this place is okay. Watch your speed in here, I know the OPPD likes to hang out here, and on the cross street that this convenience store is situated on, along McCullough.
