I literally just figured out you can use class pass for treatments. Sometimes I'm late to the game on things. Also I haven't opened my class pass in a minute. After going back and forth through different places I zeroed in on Glowing Within. They are located in one of the Phenix Salon Studios. I had no idea these places existed so it was another new experience for me. I may be quick to assume this, but what a phenomenal idea. It gives stylists, aestheticians, makeup artists, etc. a space to work from without worrying about the massive amounts of overhead. I hope they aren't charging and arm and a leg for rent. You head to Suite 127, which is right toward the front. Just walk straight, look to your left and there's Dennise. The place was cute and clean and, once again, I already felt more comfortable than I was at the last studio. I was a tad late because I missed a turn, but she was gracious and after a few questions she got to working on my lashes. She made me feel so comfortable while I was on the table. She also really knows her stuff. My lashes came out amazing and she said that even if they start to uncurl after a few days I can go back. But they are rocking so far. Every girl has head it before, "this wax is the best" "it won't hurt that much because the wax is…read moreso awesome", and every time they are lying. Brazilians hurts like hell. But after looking online (because I was in the area) I found European Wax Center and it had good reviews. So I did the whole thang. I was a new client, there was a great special, (%50 off your first Brazilian!) and then all I had to do was wait for my specialist. Ali came out, great energy and smile, and took me back to the room. And again there was the "this is great wax" conversation. Like always I nodded and smiled knowing full well that I was still going to want to die from how painful it was going to be, BUT then she started. She explained everything to me and I literally had to look down just to make sure she was even doing it! I mean of course there were a few small ouch moments, how could there not be, but I was blown away that for the first time in my life they weren't lying. The wax WAS AMAZING and Ali made me feel like I was her new best friend. It was over before I even knew it. Honestly I feel like everyone probably thought I was crazy because I couldn't stop raving about how amazing and "pain free" (as pain free as waxing can get) it was. Over the last few months, though, I have been consistently burned. The first occasion I actually called and complained to which they told me that waxer had since been fired. It had been less than a week, but okay. They said they'd put a note on my account to keep the wax temperature lower. I have to say, I went with Ashley after this and she is great. She is probably the best waxer at this location. She's nice to talk to and is no BS. She knows what she's doing. Unfortunately her schedule doesn't really work with mine so I've booked with whoever is available. Pretty unfortunate I'd say because I continue to get burned but this last time was really bad. Thankfully I'm not scarred but my skin was not just red, but was peeling from the temperature of the wax. Before it started peeling it was flakey, which was pretty scary. I texted the center asking for a call from the manager. She did call but I missed it- when I followed up via text she never answered. That just shows the kind of managerial staff is hired here and how the leadership trickles down to the waxers. I have been in a management position in a gym before and I would continue to follow up if I didn't hear back from someone who got hurt or injured. I have since cancelled future appointments at this location. I would have asked for a refund on my wax pass but I never even got the chance to ask. When you spend over $500 on a package, you should be getting quality service... or at least a call back/ follow up text. BTW, she gave me her personal cell phone number to call and never answered. When I called a different location and let them know I need the wax temperature lower, they said that it's standard procedure not to keep it too hot and were shocked at what I told them. Thankfully I can use the wax pass at any location, which is exactly where I'm taking my business, somewhere other than the Plainview location.
