She encouraged everyone to participate and even went around to help one-on-one if you wanted it. She also encouraged just finding your own style and freestyling if you weren't comfortable with the moves. I was excited and surprised to find out we were also learning a lap dance routine aside from the pole! A fun series of moves you can take home with you ;) With the purchase of the ticket, you also get a free drink coupon that can be used before or after the class. Be sure to get in line at least 45 min before your class starts since there can be a lot of people in line for the Box Office to buy tickets to other shows, etc. They don't allow photo or video during the actual class to protect anyone who doesn't want to end up on FB which I think is nice, but don't worry! You'll have time after the class to take video and photos once everyone who doesn't want to be in them clears out. I was specifically told to wear gym clothes and closed toed shoes (heels OK, as long as they're closed toed). I definitely recommend longer leggings to help with the sliding of the poll. You WILL end up with bruises regardless!! Some girls ended up coming in open toed heels but had no issues. I took off one star solely because they sell more tickets than they have poles, so a few people had to share. We went to a real strip club that night and even the girls there didn't know how to work the pole as well as we learned! I found this class while researching online for strip clubs in Las Vegas. Kind of pricey, but when else are you gonna get to learn how to pole dance alongside your girlfriends in a safe and NON-sketchy environment? There were over 30 women in our class, three or four to a pole, and one amazing instructor named Kindra. She was funny, engaging, and certainly talented at her craft. She would teach us a round of moves at a time, quickly but efficiently, then turn on clubby music for us to practice to. I think the size and structure of the class was just right, allowing enough time for every participant to try out her moves a few times. I agree with another reviewer that the rest of the people who work at the business are pretty blah (the ones checking us in seemed entirely bored and unimpressed with the enthusiasm we entered with, and the photographer was meh), but overall the experience is a lot of fun. I give it two stars just because the girl teaching the class was great. I would say she was the best part of the class. She was entertaining and a good teacher. But for the class itself - the actual "business" - I really would give it one star. I am a pole dancer myself, but my best friend with whom I went to Vegas really wanted to take the class so I agreed. They taught the fireman spin, which is your basic spin. As a pole dancer I took the liberty of doing more fun spins and show off, ha ha ha :-) But yeah, sharing poles... lame. I did enjoy the lap dance lesson and would say I learned a move or two from that. At least we all got our own chairs! Now this is the part of the business that really bothered me. Part of the package they offered photos. The girl taking the pictures was a total dingbat. Redemption over the phone was super easy - you just look at their class schedule online and then call to make your reservation. This is my first yelp review, specifically for how awful this class was. I would give this ZERO stars if possible. To start, our 12pm class was cancelled and we were moved to a 1:30 class. This would not have been as much of an issue out there hasn't been 3 PEOPLE TO A POLE in a tiny classroom space. The instructor was nice but overwhelmed. Then, the girls that were let in were so trashed, they took PHOTOS of us after we signed a waiver stating this would not happen. Furthermore, the instructor had stated no photos several times and the other students STILL TOOK PHOTOS. When asked to stop, the girls proceeded to SCREAM AT THE INSTRUCTOR yet were not asked to leave. When the teacher attempted to continue class, the drunks then JEERED over the teacher so no one else could hear her. I was so uncomfortable I left in tears. After leaving less than 30 minutes into a hour long class, I asked for my money back. I was told no, but was offered tickets to a later class. After having my job placed in jeopardy by having photos taken of me I will never go back. The worker did not budge so I called corporate. Once on the phone with a supervisor, I was offered tickets for when I next to back to Vegas if I was willing to PAY AN EXTRA $7. I'm already out $40, I wasn't going to pay more. It's a fun girl's day out thing to do, personally to me I feel like the show is kind of thrown together. I'm a local, if I was a tourist I would've rated this a 5-STAR. As I observed the tourists that were participating, these girls were having the time of their lives in there, talk about the EPIC turn up. As a local, I didn't have the same level of excitement. Stripper 101 is exactly what it sounds like: Ho School. To its credit, it was actually less gimmicky than I expected -- they do show you a few tricks and teach you some genuinely useful moves. But you have to share a pole with another girl, and take turns practicing the routines the instructor shows you... so you get about three tries, and zero one-on-one attention, meaning you don't really LEARN all that much. You certainly shouldn't expect to walk out of here ready to strip professionally -- they don't even mention the REALLY important stuff, like how to hustle, how to negotiate, how to massage your implants and how to apply self-tanner. You would pick up better stripping tips at a Tony Robbins seminar, honestly. All this basically does is teach you some sexxxy moves to titillate your hubby on your honeymoon night...that kind of schlock. Now that I think about it, this is like the Disney School of Stripping -- PG-rated, lots of giggling, and repeated coy references to one's "cookie." Lemme tell you, I've been to most of the strip clubs in Vegas....and those girls ain't doing this cutesy shtick. Where's the air humping? The crotch grinding? The cervix flashing???? The Skinny: fun girls only activity but don't expect to truly learn much during this 60 minute class... yes, it is 60 minute class even though it's listed as 90 minutes (3) Service: the teacher was talented but was obviously very divided in her time given the large class size of 28 people (3), Value: I got the class for around $22 by grabbing a Groupon... if it was regular price, it would be pricey for what it was (3). Okay - so on a lark I convinced 4 other girls to come and do Stripper 101 with me. It took all my powers of persuasion to do this (okay - some of my friends are shy!) but overall they were good sports and indulged me. I was kind of annoyed at how disorganized the support staff was for this activity. We arrived to the V-theatre about 45 minutes prior to the class as noted on the website. We get there and all they need to do was hand us our tickets. What?!?! Couldn't they just check us in when the class starts? So we had to hang out around Miracle Mile for 45 minutes until our class actually started. When we arrived at the Stripper Bar, there was a long 30 minute gap for the photographer to take all the pictures of the ladies prior to their class and for us to sign waiver forms. (FYI - they will not let you take pictures inside the Stripper Bar or at the class. If you need to get changed, they'll show you a bathroom where you can get into your workout gear.) Meanwhile, we were supposed to relax and have a drink (included in the price of the standard ticket). Hmmm... I don't know about you but as someone who is a major klutz - alcohol and stripper pole - not a good combination. My friends had no qualms imbibing though so I handed over my drink ticket to them. By this time, I'm getting irritated with the staff (arriving 1.5 hours early for a class? Please!) . Finally, we get into the classroom at around noon. The class itself depends on both the teacher (who was pretty talented), the people and the size of your class. On reviewing what was written about this place here, we had a smaller size class (28 girls). Despite this, we still needed to share poles with other girls which would not fly if I was paying regular price for this class. Our group was pretty rowdy but we did learn a few standard moves. Like learning what are "money making" moves. Like spinning the pole without crushing your "cookie". Like the butt jiggle (some of us were having trouble with this but our instructor promptly got on all fours and showed us how it's done. I leave the rest to your imagination. Fyi - it takes a lot of practice!). My hubby now asks to see this on a regular basis. In the end, our instructor said that as women, we are often times too hard on ourselves. Great activity for an all-girls weekend in Vegas! Cheaper than a spa treatment! Stripper 101 is exactly what it says it is: the stripping basics and a little pole time....with some VERY strong drinks! My friends were trashed before we could hook our foot around a pole! We showed up about 30 min early (apparently to pre-funk) to get drinks and pictures taken (which we did buy so we could hide it from our children in 10 years!) It was a good thing we came early, it filled up fast and we got to mingle with other women taking the class. Met a rowdy crowd of Southern Belles from Kentucky! When it was finally time to head to our "classroom" they split us into two groups. We were ushered to a small room in the back of a theatre. When we realized we weren't w/our Kentucky girls we asked to go to the "other" room...a random storage room that wasn't storing enough chairs to accommodate all the ladies (some had to wait up to 30 min. just to get a seat!) Our instructor was Jill (Aspen) who valiantly shouted above the girls for most of class. She was informative, entertaining and fun...lotsa talk about keeping your cookie off the pole & keeping it covered so you could earn more money! She spent about half the class teaching us about giving the perfect lap dance & the other half showing us moves on the pole. Our group had our own pole to work with. At the end of the class, Jill/Aspen did a short routine of more difficult tricks. One of the girls in my group missed it, so we asked her if she would do it again....and she gave us a private show at the end! The instructor began with a spiel about how the "industry" was not taboo in Vegas and it was a great way to earn a living - fine, we get it, we're not judging you. Then we began with a lap dance tutorial, again, not enough rooms for everyone to participate in the room. As my friends and I were trying to follow along from the back of the room we got scolded by said stripper. Not asked to quiet down so everyone could hear, but straight up yelled at - REALLY? The best thing about her was that I think she made an attempt to help make everyone feel comfortable and she wanted all of us to feel sexy, no matter what we thought we looked like. I think there were 22 ladies in the class and 15 poles so there was some taking turns but that was ok with me. There were some ladies in their mid-20s all the way up in to their 50s. Some were covered very well and others well, um, wore hot pants and bikini tops. So, needless to say, there was a very good mix of people in the class. I have to admit I was kind of worried about what the class would be like beforehand since this kind of stuff is definitely not my thing but this was probably one of the best attraction experiences I've had in Vegas so far. What a fun way to get your your girlfriends together and have fun! Not really knowing what to expect because this was supposed to be a stripper class it ended up being so much more. The instructor Pony was so great and we all had so much fun with her! I learned so many great moves and it wasn't just about the pole. We were on chairs and even did things with fun girly toys! My friends still talk about it and I have fun memories! Next time I go I'm bringing my stripper heals because that's the one thing I forgot to bring with me! Our instructor Heather a.k.a. Roxy if ya nasty was a lot of fun and walked us through a lap dance and pole dancing and a whole lot of booty shaking! The class wasn't too full so even though there were other groups we all had some pole time. The lap dancing portion was the best part and Heather spilt all the secrets. This woman made me ready to lay it down next time I see my boo! Booking process was really easy, we called in advance to make a reservation however was not told of the fee to change class times if needed. When we got to the box office late for our class after already going back and forth with them on the phone about the hidden fee, there was a hug eline in front of the theater because the will call line for the shows in the V theater is the same lone you get your tickets for the 101 class, so be prepared to wait. After the line and battle with management we took some pics, filled out paperwork (just a short waiver) and got into class. The room was in the Theatre but off to the side, I can't really describe it because its simply a room not really its own studio or building you know. But it was spacious had poles, dim lighting and a mini stage. Overall, we had a blast, Heather was very nice and good instructor. Plus her music selection was on point. Tried this class because my friend got a group on or something lol. There were 9 of us ladies in the class and we had a blast! My friend and I are big girls and we felt completely comfortable. The instructor was fun and knew her stuff. She also emphasized safety and form. It was a great workout! The class is at Planet Hollywood by the V Theatre in the shops area. This had to be one of the highlights of my bachelorette party. Our instructor, Pony, was AMAZING!! I can't say enough about how entertaining, witty, and charming she was throughout the entire class. There were 27 of us for a double bachelorette, and she managed to put us all at ease. We all had so much fun because of her. I don't think anyone left disappointed. Shaun, the person in charge of ticketing for our group, also went above and beyond to accomodate our class. I only worked with her over the phone, but she was thorough and knowedgable. With 27 people, she managed to work out quite the deal for us which we all greatly appreciated. If not for the PH staff at the place, this review would be 5 stars. To say it was disorganized was an understatement. I was told to arrive with my party at 2:30 for the 3:00 class which we did. When I got there, I was told there'd be a delay because the staff was still prepping which was fine; however, the class is supposed to be about 75 minutes. We actually started around 3:25-30 and ended our class at roughly 4:15 because another class was supposed to be coming in, so we were definitely shorted on time. On top of that, with our large party of 27, we were apparently given the smaller classroom upstairs. We were told to move to the room downstairs only to have staff, again, move us all back upstairs. We then had to wait in the upstairs classroom for chairs because, surprise, there weren't enough in the smaller classroom. Our instructor requested for chairs, and after waiting several more minutes, had to go get them herself. The staff delivered the chairs about 10 minutes after that which meant if she didn't get the chairs we would've waited even longer. They also seemed blatantly uncaring about any of that. My MOH did a gr8 job picking out this activity cuz it def suits my personality so if ur a MOH u def have to add this on ur list of funtivities. So just like everyone's review says, there's 3 lessons to this course: lap dance, pole dance and ass shaking. Our instructor was LD and she is amazing! She not only includes the typical physical aspects of being a stripper but also how to really make that money!!! She teaches you how to be a savvy, business minded stripper lol. Cons: -no space for anything. 35+ girls and 11 poles. Do the math. -no 1-on-1 attention, even when asked -the procedure to pick up your photo after the class. Complete chaos. 1 girl trying to serve the aforementioned 35+ people. They have a shelf for displaying the pictures, they should really consider using it. People can look and if they like, they buy. If they don't like, they don't buy. Seems ridiculous to stand in a 20 minute line just to see if you like your picture. -the bartender didn't know what a fuzzy navel was. Didn't have mint for a mojito nor champagne for a bellini. Girly drinks for a girly event, no? I settled for white zin. Pros: -the teacher was hilarious -I actually learned something even though I've taken a few pole dancing lessons prior. -had a great time with a friend. I ordered my tickets off Vegas.com. The pick-up process is a little annoying. You have to pick up your tickets from the V Box office in Planet Hollywood. They'll hold the tickets up until an hour before the class starts. After that, they're forfeited and can be resold ... Naturally I was running late and freaking out. When I got there, there was a LINE at the box office. Really? I pulled aside one of the guys and he said I should be fine and that the tickets would still be ours ...RELIEF. I don't know if they'd actually resell the tickets, but I DO NOT like this process. Why couldn't I just print my class tickets? It's a pretty fun bachelorette party activity. The first half of the class is lap dancing. You learn some basic moves ... basic, but still funny. There were plenty of poles in the classroom, but not enough for each student. This was perfectly fine though as I think people were getting tired. We learned the fireman spin, the squat spin, some other moves ... all easy enough. Honestly, you don't really learn that much in this class. But it's still a fun and memorable experience. Pony was our instructor. She was really funny and super talented! My group ended up gambling at Planet Hollywood and with some of our winnings decided to take a stripping class! We got a great deal with from the malls concierge and 5 of us really didn't know what to expect but that lady said this class is great for ladies looking to have fun. We booked it and got some drinks and it ended up being the funnest thing we did all day next to winning on slot machines! Pony was our instructor and she is a professional. She is also a very funny lady and brought out the naughty girls in all of us. I never knew that I had it in me!
