I first saw Dr. Dan after a 2+ year hiatus from going to the dentist. The cleaning went surprisingly well, though my teeth and gums were at least a mild disaster. However, on my X-rays, he pointed out a tiny dark spot under one of my old fillings and recommended that he drill it out and redo it in case there was a little bit of decay in there. Good thing he did, because the decay kept going... and going... and going... and going... it was the longest filling I've ever gotten. The weird part? It was also the most pleasant filling I've ever gotten... by far. By all rights, something like this would have typically sent me fleeing from the building, but somehow it was just fine. I continue to come here for cleanings and they are consistently great. The people are always wonderful... highly recommended. read more

I was very impressed with Dr. Strobel and his staff. The office is very high-tech, my xrays were immediately available to view via computer and I was impressed with the massaging chairs, a nice detail for a dentist's office. His hygienist and assistant were very knowledgeable and kept me informed of what each step of my first appointment would entail. My gums were "charted" which was an assessment at every tooth. My previous dentist never did that. Dr. Strobel cleaned my teeth and gave me exact instructions on what I needed to do differently in my dental routine. My husband and I have been going to Strobel Dentistry for about 8 years now, so we've been with them since Dr. Dan's father, Dr. Greg, was running the practice. Both father and son have been terrific dentists to have over the years. I just love that Dr. Greg's son has taken over for him now, and is doing such an amazing job. Neither my husband nor I work in the loop anymore, but we continue going down to Strobel because we get such great care, and it's such a well-run business. Dr. Dan has modernized their very solid practice in helpful ways, but has maintained the family business feel--not an easy thing to do. They have great, state-of-the art tools for monitoring the progress of your teeth and gums (cavities, gum recession, etc.). The hygenists and Dr. Dan are super nice, and during procedures will explain to you what they are doing and why. The friendly front desk staff actually remembers you. It's relatively easy to get appointments when you need them, and I don't think they've ever run late with one of our appointments. They also send you a survey after your visit, so you know that they are serious about making sure that their practice is serving patients' needs. Strobel Dentistry was recommended to me by a friend; I have been a patient of Dr. Dan since 2008 and am pleased with the care I have received. The front desk staff is professional and accommodating. With each exam, Dr. Dan and the hygienists provide status updates on all aspects of your personal mouth care, ranging from gum recession, tooth wear and tear, along with the obvious brushing, rinsing and flossing. I'm not usually one to write reviews on yelp, but I had such a good experience at Strobel Dentistry that I thought it warranted my first one. I went there for the first time last week to have a night guard fitted because I grind my teeth in my sleep and it's starting to cause problems. I'm usually nervous to go to the dentist because I have a fairly small mouth, so procedures can be quite painful. Happy to say that that wasn't the case during this visit! I ended up seeing Dr. Isabella and she was phenomenal. Since it was my first time seeing her she started off the visit by confirming what I was there for, asking about my history and checking if there was anything I wanted her to know. I let her know that I was nervous about the device they'd use for the fitting because they usually hurt me. She immediately called her assistant to bring a variety of sizes and carefully tried several of them before even starting the procedure just to make sure it wouldn't cause me any pain. My old dentist never would have done that. She also made sure to talk me through everything she was doing and constantly asked how I was feeling to make sure I wasn't in pain. Overall it was a great experience. It changed my view of going to the dentist and now I'm excited to go back and pick up my night guard instead of being scared, as usual, to go to the dentis! If you're in to the whole brevity thing......Strobel Dentistry is amazing, stop reading reviews for other dentists and just make an appointment with Strobel. If you've got a minute, I'd like to expound. For 26 years I went to the family dentist, and for a portion of that time, I went out of my way to do so. When I finally decided that it was time to move on, a simple search for dental practices in downtown Chicago yielded Strobel Dentistry. The reviews for the Dr(s) Strobel were positive at the time of my search, and I hope to further improve upon that sentiment. Thus far, Strobel Dentistry has been perfect in all aspects; from Dr Greg, to the dental hygienists, to the admin folks, down to the aesthetic of the office, Strobel dentistry exudes professionalism. I've seen Dr Greg for a variety of services, and he's exceeded my expectations on all counts. Coming from my family dentist, here are a few things that I've enjoyed with regard to the transition: -Convenience: I live in the city, and the office (located in the loop) is easily accessible. -Modern Dental Technology and practices: Dental Hygienists, gum mapping, newer x ray methods, computerized systems, etc. -Transparency: Dr. Greg explained everything he planned to do before actually performing the work, and utilized the map of my teeth on the computer to show me the how and where. This entire processes made the billing much easier to follow. -Email reminders for appointments. -The well oiled machine: The fact that Strobel is well staffed with people who execute their particular job exceptionally, on every level, should not be taken for granted. For years I continued with poor dental habits because the reprocussions of those habits were not articulated well (or often) enough for me to overcome my own laziness as it pertains to taking care of my teeth. While the money might be in reactive dentistry, Dr Strobel and his hygienists ignore that fact when they encourage proactive dental care. Simply put, I've recommended Dr. Strobel and Co. to friends, and I recommend them to you. And if you see a bald, red-bearded dude in the office, feel free to buy him a package of DenTek floss sticks as a thank you for leading the horse (you, in this particular instance) to water. read more

They use top of the line equipment for everything and give terrific freebies in your 'goody bag'. Lastly - they offer 7 am appointments so I can get in before work! This place is absolutely amazing!!! I remember just googling dentist offices in my area and I'm like hey I'll try this place. It's been 5 years and I haven't seen another dentist office since!! Everyone is soooooo NICE!! They're seriously like family!! I mean I talked to them about roommate issues, the stress of moving and even career changes and they genuinely care!! Even when I lost most job and had a balance with them they were so patient and kind and worked with me to get the balance resolved one small payment at a time!! I had gone 2 years without seeing a dentist due to lack of insurance. As you might guess my teeth needed some serious work. I was referred to Dr. Strobel by a friend, and I couldn't be happier. I was in and out of the office quickly, the staff was friendly and helpful, and my teeth felt great when i left. I have recently moved to the south burbs. I was charged $720 for a "deep" cleaning. My old dentist in Kenilworth is recognized state-wide and charges less than half for the same service. In discussing the bill it was clear the only concern was getting the most money possible. I was unable to obtain a quote before my appointment but was assured it would not exceed my plan's coverage, which was $600! I should have known when they had so much availability and no reference. Their policies are what puts me off. Dan is fantastic however if you end up not going for two years they demand you come in twice for a cleaning checkup and just simply refuse to do everything they want to do in one shot. Last time I did this I requested to come in for a cleaning, poked at my gums for an hour took xrays and all the photos of my teeth and didn't clean them but yet charged me about $200 and told me to schedule another appointment for cleaning. Fast forward to now it has been apparently right at two years and again I asked for a single appointment to get everything they wanted done so I could look into getting some fillings replaced that needs to be done. Well the staff took 24 hours to get back to me once again denying to get it all done in one trip (just the cleaning, xrays and gum poking). As a very busy person I don't have time to make two trips to downtown for something that should be done in one. I will find a new dentist who's staff values people time!
