They got my husband in quickly with a dental emergency. They assessed him, got him on meds and referred to a specialist for his problem on the same day. I am so irritated with this place, I feel scammed. I went there for a retreat of a root canal. I actually went there to get a referral to an endodontist to have this procedure done, but when I went there for the referral and they did my exam the dentist didn't give me a referral and he said that they could just do it in the office. I did not realize that this was a procedure that must be done by endodontist. I also thought that since he was saying that he could do it he wasn't endodontist. So obviously the retreat of my root canal failed. And now I have to go see a specialist to have it fixed, and I'm just irritated with that because I wouldn't have to be doing this if he would have just given me the referral to go to and endodontist in the first place like I asked. I really hate when doctors or dentists or medical professionals take advantage of customers just so that they can get money as opposed to giving them information or pointing them in the direction that's going to give them the best health care possible. I am a single mother and an artist and I ended up spending $2500 out of my own pocket for work that will do me no good, that I have to get repeated now. Also , and this might be a thing with male dentist thing, or maybe because I'm an African American and studies show that the vast majority of white medical professionals do terrible when it comes to the pain management of black patients... But when I would tell him that I was in pain he would just tell me to stop moving or brush off the fact that I was in a lot of pain. After I left his office a lot of times I just had to lay down for 1 to 2 days because the pain was so bad. The last straw was when I started to get the feeling that I was being pushed to get dental work that was not absolutely necessary. And after I had all of the dental work done that was recommended, out of nowhere he said that I need another crown, after I had just gotten three crowns from him. And I told him that I wanted to wait for a later date to get that done, and after I said that he had this really dismissive attitude about any other questions that I had in regards to my teeth. But at that time I didn't have any more money to pay for a crown, because I had gone into debt paying for the dental work he already did... I mean it's in a nice building so.... read more

I went in for a routine cleaning yesterday and had a new dental hygienist, for the life of me I can't remember her name. I always have good experiences there however I just want to say there are time when I get the fluoride added and it can get clumpy. No issues at all, I did like she said and waited over two hours to eat hot food and my teeth felt so good, I had to remind myself to brush before bedtime. If you are not getting your teeth cleaned or treated here, you need to reconsider your life choices. (Haha) seriously I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Kushner and his office. I have gum disease for not seeing a dentist for many years and now I look forward to my treatments. read more

I want to like this office, I really do... but after coming in for a routine cleaning late last year my mouth has been in pain ever since. The staff is friendly and the services are seemingly well-done, but I've never experienced long term pain like I have after visiting their office. After the routine cleaning they filled some cavities and filed my teeth, but afterwards the area hurt for days and weeks. I went back in for a (free) consultation and they worked on the area some more, saying that they fixed the problem, but it never was. It's been 5 months since that "fix" and every time I eat I am in pain in the area they worked on, with no end in sight. read more

I've been coming to this dentist since I moved to Chicago and I've been very happy with their services. The staff who work there are incredibly friendly and I've always felt comfortable each time I've gone. As far as COVID, they do a great job. I never felt unsafe and there's always sanitizer available. The hygienist wears a mask and face shield since you will have your mouth uncovered for the majority of your time in the dentist chair. read more

I went today for a cleaning and things went well. I felt very protected and all safe guards were being followed. I had to admit to my technician that I considered canceling because of COVID-19 but I got over my fear and went. I just had an appointment with Dr. Kushner. I am impressed by his professionalism and gentleman style. He examined my teeth carefully and explained clearly. I noticed his office used some new technology as addition to x-ray. I recalled my previous dentist in California. That dental office also liked to use advanced devices for dental work. I have been seeing Dr. Kushner and Sheila for close to 10 years. I have nothing, but great things to say about the whole practice. Sheila has been more than a hygienist in a sense that I look forward to catching up with her on my biannual cleaning visits! I had a great first visit! I ended up having some unexpected dental work done during my first visit- the entire team was AWESOME!!

I really wanted to like this dental office and I was looking forward to regular 6mo visits near me where I can be an ongoing patient. Unfortunately, I walked into a dental office where the Dentist himself is as rude as the office staff. First visit and while examining me Dr. Becker was either talking to the dental assistant about his weekend or watching television. At no time during the exam did he explain to me what he was doing or what I could expect. Now I don't expect a play by play but I'm a new patient and would expect some form of communication about what is going on with my teeth. When I would try to ask questions he would respond condescendingly and as if I were bothering him by asking a question. He was extremely off putting with a terrible bedside manner. Save yourself and DO NOT go see Dr. Becker he is a horrible dentist who only stopped to talk to me when he was trying to push unnecessary procedures, it clearly shows that he doesn't care about his patients and only sees his patients as nothing more than $$$$ read more

I had a GREAT first appointment with them 6 months ago. This second appointment was very sub-par. I came in early at 4 for a 4:15 appointment and ended up standing at the desk waiting to be checked in. A woman, who was on the phone, verified my first name and that was it. I didn't get called back into the room until 4:20 at which point I had to clarify with the dental hygenist, Louisa, that I had new dental insurance - so it took some time to get my card photocopied etc. She proceeds to chastise me 3 different times to floss more. Lastly, she tried to ask me how often I floss a week, at which point, I said "clearly not enough" to signal I'm done with this conversation. She, NOT taking the hint, proceeds to state loudly that my gums are bleeding. An aside, I use an electric toothbrush so doing the best I can. At this point, I'm fed up with her poor bedside manner and her trying to shame me. This is EXACTLY why people have these stereotypes about going to the dentist. Louisa didn't make me feel very comfortable and for someone who kept harping on me to floss more, didn't even floss me during this visit. I was called in around 4:20 and left the office at 4:40 - a VERY quick appointment that left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Not a fan of Dr. Becker. I came in for a consultation since my previous dentist moved to Denver & I felt a filling come loose. Dr. Becker evaluated my x-ray and suggested that I needed a crown, 3 fillings, and a root canal. This sounded aggressive as I just had Invisalign and professionals were looking at my teeth every 6 weeks for the past 1.5 years. The main issue I have with the evaluation is that Dr. Becker didn't take the time to explain why I needed each of these items. This led me to getting a second opinion/new dentist. With teeth, I suggest getting a second opinion before proceeding as anything done to enamel will be permanent and gone for the rest of your life. read more

This is THE WORST dental experience that I ever had. I've found this dentist in my Cigna account and read some good reviews from patients (BIG MISTAKE!!! SHOULE'VE READ review from multiple sources / websites). My Husband went for his teeth cleaning at the same practice but his primary dentist was Dr.Kushner and he didn't have any bad experience except the front desk clerk messed up his appointment. So, I choose Dr.Kushner as my primary dentist and made my 1st appointment for my teeth cleaning. When I arrived at the office, Dr.BECKER was assigned to be my dentist. I thought it should be fine since they were from the same practice and probably won't be so bad. Then, few weeks later I went back for filling with Dr. BECKER. This time he is ROUGH and I could feel he used a lot of FORCES and he kept continue to curse and frustrated during the process because he had issue with one of the equipment! I understand the tooth filling processes were never pleasant but I DO NOT NEEDS his frustrations and it is NOT PROFESSIONAL at all. He is lucky to have a very patience dental assistant! I ended up went home with pain around the corner of my lip because of overstretch and forces. I have blister on the next day. That's when I decided to change my dentist, however I didn't do that because my tooth were cracked this time. As this is an emergency, I have to go back to Dr.BECKER again (unwillingly). So he told me I have to put a crown. He gave me a temporary crown. Few days/week (can't remember), I went back for the actual crown fixture. It took him longer than I thought and he still has issue with one of the equipment and the cursing and frustration continues.... My WORST nightmare starts after I went home with my new crown. I feel very painful when I chew my food on the crowned tooth. So I called them the next day and went in again. Guess what, I need a ROOT CANAL on that crowned tooth! I just paid few hundred dollars for that crown! And now I have to pay for another for ROOT CANAL procedure! The worst part is when he wanted to do the procedure right away after his diagnosis. He took a SYRINGE and tries to inject inside my GUM! I WAS SHOCKED! He DIDN'T even explain to me what he's going to do! Is this even LEGAL? Start procedure without patient consent! We did not precede the procedure. He gave me WORST ATTITUDE and aggravated when I asked him more about the procedure details. He wrote me a referral letter to specialist. I called the specialist, turned out that specialist weren't inside my network! All these happened in March and there's the beginning of COVID19 stay at home order. It's extremely difficult for me to call around for In-network specialist that actually open during that period. It's more than 4 months now and I am still chewing my food from the opposite side of where the crowned tooth is. I wanted to fix it soonest but I am worry and not taking any chance to go to specialist during this pandemic period. It's an age old saying that no one "likes" going to the dentist. Well, I've been seeing. Dr Kushner and Brandi for 15 years and my 2x/year appointments are always a delight! They are super friendly, professional and sensitive to making sure the experience is a good one. Brandi has helped me a lot in making sure I floss correctly, given good product recommendations - and is just plain fun to be around. I started going to Dr. Kushner and Dr. Becker over 10 years ago when I worked in the building across the street. I've since changed jobs (now in the West Loop) and moved to the suburbs, but still come to this office every 6 months for my cleaning. The staff is friendly, and Brandi is my favorite hygienist. She always explains everything throughly in a non-condescending tone. She also remembers to ask about things like my wedding or vacations when I come back after 6 months away. Dr. Becker's skills are the worst and his attitude make it worse. Previously my tooth 19 never had pain but he thought he should do a filling to it then he did it. After that I began to have pain for that tooth. The pain became stronger and stronger in the next one and half month although I took good care of it. I came to him and asked for suggestion, he said it will be fine. I said the pain is the worst in my whole life and asked whether I need pain release medicine or there is any way to solve it. He looked very indifferent and said nothing is needed. I trusted him and waited for my severe pain(the pain makes me can't work or sleep well) to be gone. It was not gone at all in the next several days and got even worse. Then I came to another doctor and that doctor fixed it. My tooth 19 never had pain before, after his filling, it made me have strongest pain in my whole life for several weeks. Becker, I respect you as a doctor, but, you are the worst doctor that I could ever met!!! read more

Had my teeth cleaning today. The office it taking major safety precautions, due to COVID. I felt totally safe getting my teeth cleaned.

I had been a patient of the practice since my father started our Family there in the mid-1960's and not unsatisfied. I had come on hard times and then with Covid, I could not pay the outstanding balance for me and my two daughters. When I finally had the means to pay and return as a paying patient without dental insurance, they declined me, my daughters and REPORTED US TO THE CREDIT BUREAU. This doesn't bother my credit as I am older but to tarnish my early twenties daughters was just so malicious as they work hard to be nice hard working girls and now with a negative "hard credit" mark against them. All of the dentists and hygienists at this office are wonderful. If I ever need to be seen under short notice, they have done their best to get me seen and taken care of - sometimes on the same day.
