Wow what an amazing meal I had this evening. I had the stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. This was served with a white wine cream sauce. The waitress recommended it and it was spot on. My son and I dined here one night after work. It had been a few months since our last visit; we've always had good experiences here. We got started with their loaded potato chips appetizer. Nice hand cut chips with plenty of toppings. I especially enjoyed the bacon bites which I am told is a locally sourced pork product. For the entree I went with the Seafood Supreme personal pizza. As it turned out it was "pizza night" so $3 off each pie. (Added bonus but, at any price, this was the best pizza I've had in a long time) Past experience with wood-fire or brick oven pizzas is that the crusts are often brittle as a cracker - not this pie. The crust was perfect texture and loaded with langostinos, lump crab, and shrimp. Wonderful garlic sauce which complimented the seafood with hints of lemon and Old Bay. my new favorite pizza! My son ordered a Caesar salad and shrimp dinner and was satisfied with his selections. Place was crowded but we were able to squeeze into a two top. There was available seating outside, but it was a bit too breezy that evening. All-in-all another satisfying meal at Strong & Co. I'll be back for more of that seafood pizza! read more

We are heading for Strong & Company Restrarant again this evening! It's about a 40 minute drive for us, but the meals we've had there so far justify the trip! The facility is adequate, not anything fancy but adequate. The service is great, prices pretty normal, and the food is great! I think their chili is the best I've found in this neck of the woods. Their steaks, burgers, fries, and breakfast items are as good or better than what I have found in most places. Here's how I rate Strong & Company: I rate their facility a 4, their service a 5, their food a 5+, and their value a 5. So I rate String & Company a 5! Will we go back to Strong & Company? Darn right we will! In fact we are heading that way this evening where I plan on getting a bowl of that chili and one of their baked potatoes covered with cheese and chili ( and see if I can get a few jalapeño slices)! This place is always packed but for good reason, it was wonderful food only comparable to the Clay Haus in the small town. I enjoyed the Ahi tuna bites & Artichoke Spinach dip starters but the best starters in my opinion is the Meatballs & Smoked chicken wings. Food wise my partner enjoyed the ribeye very much & that it had lots of flavor & was cooked exactly to her liking. I had the mushroom wish burger & it was very juicy! My first bite & the juice were leaking all over me & my plate. I enjoyed the burger very much & would order it again. We went there last week & got the 12" BBQ chicken pizza & if was phenomenal. Service -3/5 - I don't blame the restaurant but getting served can be hard with how many people are there & how small the restaurant is when packed. Food - 4/5 - definitely a wonderful place to go eat & I would come back here again. They have wonderful food & and lot of variety. Ambiance 3.5/5 - if you're sitting in the back of the restaurant it can be hard to enjoy the look & feel of the restaurant. But sitting up front is always beautiful since you can see the wonderful town square. The restaurant itself has nice wood floors & nice wall decor. i wouldn't call it bar (because I think most people come for the food) but they do have a bar seating area & they do serve decent drinks. If I could I'd give a 3.5 stars but I'll stick with a 4 for now. We arrived right around 9pm on a Thursday evening. Their sign said they were open til 11pm, however it very much felt like they were trying to close up. We stood at the front for a while because there was a sign that said please wait to be seated, but when a server finally approached us he told us to sit where ever we wanted and hinted at the bar. I was super excited when we walked in because I loved the aesthetic. As a tourist here, I was even contemplating getting one of their cute cropped tanks if the experience was good. The menu has quite a variety of options from shareable apps, pizzas, burgers, sides and entrees. The drink menu also looked great and I really would've loved to have tried a cocktail but traveling did not permit it. We were very hungry so we ordered a LOT of food and hoped for the best. To start, Spinach Artichoke Dip. The dip had a decent flavor but was not nearly warm enough and even had a few cool spots. The chips were also very greasy. Next we got the Fried Brussels which had lots of promise but were overly oily and could've used some seasoning. The Baja Tacos were not good. The "Baja Sauce" was good but the excessive shredded lettuce that they called Asian Slaw mixed with shredded cheese did not add any flavor to the tacos and I ended up just eating the two grilled shrimps out of mine. I did enjoy the other two plates we ordered! The frog legs were fried golden crispy. The leg meat was nice and tender and the Thai chili sauce was sweet and tangy and complimented the frog well. The chicken wings had a heavy smoke flavor that would have almost been overwhelming if it didn't pair so well with the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce that they were tossed in. Overall, if your local I would definitely give this place a shot however I would suggest traveling too far out of your way for a meal here. The food lacked flavor and the service wasn't super attentive. If I was in the area again I would grab a drink or two at the bar and maybe try a new flavor of wings. 4 stars for the potential for this restaurant but 3 stars for overall execution. read more

So after walking around for three hours looking for morel mushrooms with my brother we had worked up an appetite, so we met his buddy there for lunch. The service was great from the minute we entered. We were given our menu's and we ordered our drinks, I ordered a Masthead Jalapeño IPA. Outstanding flavor and aroma! For lunch I ordered the popper burger. An awesome burger covered in jalapeño cream cheese and pepper jack cheese on a toasted brioche bun. It came with a side of fresh cut fries. Good vibe, great burger. Passing through the quaint small town of Somerset, home of the original roundabout circling General Sheridan, we decided to stop by Strong & Co. for a bite to eat. Grabbed a seat at the bar, bartender went through the nice selection of brews on tap. Had a couple drinks and then ordered The Steak House burger, delicious. Updated review here, in my opinion you can't go wrong here. I've had multiple meals here and all have been very tasty. Some of the best burgers, great hand cut fries, great wings, and the pizzas are great as well! I really enjoy the fish here, large pieces of Cod battered and fried to golden brown. The coating is crisp, and the fish is light and juicy! They have a great home made tarter sauce that complements the fish well. Only concern is that seating is limited due to the small building so it will get very crowded with lengthy wait times during the dinner rush. It's worth the wait in my opinion! read more

We stopped in tonight, and had an unexpected experience. We are from out of town, and love the small town charm, ambience, food, and especially the patio. For the first time ever visiting we sent out food back (t bone & filet). Only to be met with the "owner" to belittle us, I was excited to finally meet him since we frequent there so often- and as a salon owner I tell lots of people to go there. Instead of apologizing or even explaining that the restaurant could not afford to remake the steaks. He explained to us how "expensive" they were, as if we weren't prepared to send the money on the dinner either way. The steak I ordered was over done as well, however I didn't even bring that up because the season f was so overbearing Being a small business owner, I would love to support other small businesses. However I personally do not feel this would have not happened if maybe we were a "different" type of couple. I'm not sure if it was because we're heavily tattooed or gay we were treated as if we couldn't "afford" the food we had came and ordered. The case was someone over seasoned something - I've order a ribeye steak there probably 15 times and pride myself of cooking at home as well. We are avid steak house people, not Texas Roadhouse but along the lines of Ruth Chris, Cameron Mitchell and wolf gang puck restaurants just to name a few. We loved coming to this local spot to only have an issue one time and be belittled, and treated as if we didn't have "money" to pay for our food. Unfortunately, we will never be back. Very disappointing, and upsetting. There was a way to go about a complaint and even if the restaurant did not want to remake the steaks the "owner" could have responded in a better manner. I can guarantee if a more "normal" couple sent their food back, they would not have been explained about the "price" of a menu item. And if you are the owner reading this, I hope you think about the wording you use when speaking to others. Took a little ride out to my original stomping grounds in life, and stopped in try this place out. The staff was very pleasant and the food was very good. Priced decent. Looked to have a full bar. A lot of their items were made with locally sourced food (beef, pork). I had the Cuban, my mom had the steakhouse burger. Both had fresh cut fries that were like shoestring fries. My husband and I went for an impromptu Valentine's dinner and were beyond impressed. The drinks were tasty and the food was AMAZING!! This is a small family business and they do everything well. The brother runs the meat and back of the house and the sister the front of the house and bar. The chef has a great attitude and seems to be there quite a bit. The beef is generally from Poorman's down the street, and the pork from Swinehart's Family Show Pigs down the road. (hint: they look great and taste even better:) Such a relief to have a nice restaurant in the country. Park near the Phil Sheridan statue and give it a try. We had pepperoni pizza and it was very cheesy, almost too much cheese. The crust and sauce were fantastic. I ordered the smoked chicken and brisket tacos. We traveled to eat after it was recommended. The hostess that seared us was friendly. It's a nice looking place. That was the best part. Once our waitress came to us she appeared bothered and standoffish. They have a very limited supply of domestic beers (3) but more IPA's. My girlfriend got a margarita and it completely undrinkable, it was almost all mixer. The loaded chili nachos appetizer was good. However our both our dinners were disappointing. Both were very bland and had no flavor. Our waitress never came back to check on us, ask if I wanted another beer which was empty after the appetizer or ask my girlfriend why she did not like her drink. But she did seem to be enjoying herself talking to another table the entire time. So I don't think we will make this drive again or recommend. read more

So really I had lunch and dinner. I saw a few review mention overpriced but for the amount of food, I strongly disagree. If you picked this place up and moved it to downtown Columbus it would be considered really inexpensive. Maybe its all perspective? Loved the unique spin on each item. Everything seemed to have a twist. Would love to see a few more vegetarian options, but it wasnt the standard veggie burger and a lot could be modified so I was happy. We are from Columbus but have stopped at Strongs several times over the last few years when we are passing through Somerset. Always really good food and drinks for a very fair price. On Saturday I had their panko grouper special, which was fantastic. Cooked perfectly and served over very good mashed. My wife had the Greek salad with chicken and loved it. I honestly didn't know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. When I read some of the flavors of the chicken wings, I was definitely intrigued. They have some very unique flavors so a group of us decided to try them all. I really could not decide which ones I like the best. They all had very unique flavors and were very good. The one I think I was the most intrigued by was a blueberry flavored wing. I didn't know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised. The service was good and very "hometown". The food did not disappoint. I definitely recommend that you at least try this place. (Update) after my initial review, they followed up with me to ask what they could have done better. I had the smoked chicken club, personally I loved it. The flavors added in it are all thoughtfully added. From the garlic to the slight heat to the kind of ham used all great choices. French frys tasted homemade and I'm a fry's and ranch girl and also loved the ranch here! My husband has the special which was the tacos he thought they needed more spice to them. And my favorite part of the meal was the amazing wings, everything I wanted in a smoked wing. The wing flavor we chose was smoked blueberry bbq, sounded unique and I love when I find food that is just that. We loved the flavor, of I could change anything it would of been to have more sauce on them. Clearly whoever created this menu has a creative pallet. read more
