Do not buy from Stroud Appliance if you expect them to service their products. I thought that was the reason you bought from an appliance store, and not a big box store. Since moving here in 2003 I had bought all my appliances from them, never again. I have a full kitchen, then another full kitchen area in my finished basement. I first bought a Bosch Washer and Dryer when we move here. I then bought a Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for my Kitchen. When I finished the basement, I bought another Fisher Paykel Dishwasher, GE Refrigerator, and Uline Cabinet Ice Maker from them. All was great, till I needed any kind of service. I had an error code on the Fisher Paykel dishwasher in my kitchen. They referred me to their Sister company for service. I don't think the guy had a clue how to service Fisher Paykel. He came out, cleaned out the water in the drip tray to take care of the error code, billed me, and left. First time I ran it, same error. Just glad it didn't flood my newly finished basement. Glad it was a Fisher Paykel that caught the issue. Different guy came out again and ordered and replaced two parts. Worked fine after that. Dryer then stopped working. I called, and they said they were backlogged and gave me a number of a different servicer that I could call, or said I could buy new ones. I did buy new ones from a different Appliance Store. Final straw was the $2k Uline Ice Maker recently stopped working after 4 years. When I called, they said they lost their servicer for Uline. That I would need to call Uline. Well apparently, Uline doesn't have servicers in our area, only in NJ, and they will not travel to this area. So I am basically out $2k on a 4 year old ice maker, or I can fix it myself. Look elsewhere. I am getting ready to buy a new Thermador Stove, and similar Refrigerator for my kitchen, and also a Freezer for my Garage. It will not be from Stroud Appliance. There are better options in the Bangor area that deliver to East Stroudsburg, and would assume will service their products, unlike Stroud Appliance read more

We were in our Bushkill home when, a week before we were to leave the states to return to our home in Mexico, - our stove stopped working. While we do not rent out our house, our friends and family stay here sometimes - and we needed to get a new stove delivered and installed within a week. We always try to support local businesses - (sorry Best Buy!) so off we went to Stroud Appliance. The entire transaction was simply delightful. The owner was so nice - we had a lovely conversation and he arranged for the stove delivery to our house in Saw Creek Estates for 4 days later. The delivery was right on time, the stove was installed with no problems in a professional manner. I cannot say enough positive things about Stroud TV & Appliance. Decided to support a local store. Customer service was not too friendly. I spent $2,000 on a refrigerator. Delivered and the inside crisper doors broke in a couple of days. The drawers wouldn't open. Called and they set up an appointment. That took two weeks. Apparently they have a lot of repair work for the appliances they sell. Repair guy came out(very friendly) and said he would order all new drawers. Two weeks later, no word. Called more than eight times, and was told they would call me back. Finally two months later, they told me to call the manufacture. I called the manufacture, they sent me parts. This did not resolved the problem. Called manufacture again and they sent a repair guy who ordered all new shelves and drawers. That solved the problem. It took four months to get this resolved. This would not have happened at Lowes. That was the second time I used Stroud Appliance and definitely the last time. read more

I have gone to these guys for help on two occasions. Both experiences were excellent! The first was when my range blew its brains out the night before Christmas Eve and again, today, when we had a bad TV event. New TV will be here tomorrow. Don't hesitate. They are the best!!!! read more

I buy all my appliances from Stroud Appliance. They are fantastic. Delivery is usually the next day, but it is when You want them to come. No "every other Tuesday between 8 & 5" We had a question about fit with the new range hood & Dale came himself to install it. Said he wanted to make sure it would fit properly. The new gas range ( which they converted to propane) needed major retrofitting of my tile floor. Dale cut a channel in the tires so the range would sit low enough on the counter. I don't believe any big box store would spend the time & do the work that Dale did to assure my appliances were perfect. And their prices are competetive, too ! read more

There is a big difference between Stroud and the Box Stores. They do not have extra hidden charges. Lowes says delivery is free but you have to buy there install package which is $50. Which is just a set of hoses. Stroud does not charge for the washer hoses, the dryer cord or a piece of vent hose. They even beat Lowes price. They are on time and the delivery guys have over 20 years experience. Plus when you need service from a box store.. Good luck.. they don't service. Stroud has been doing there own service since 1969. read more

Their prices were very reasonable and the service exceptional. Purchased a stove and refrigerator nearly a year ago, still trying to get them to fix the propane leak in the stove. Service came out twice it got better but we still smell propane. I call they say they will call back and they never do. Also still waiting for them to replace the frige door that was over foamed and the chip on the side of the range. I bought from them because service after purchase was important to me, could have gotten these item cheaper somewhere else if I wanted bad/no service. read more

I bought a fridge from them and all was well. The service was fine, cost ok, delivery mildly expensive, but what I find unacceptable is that a company in todays day in age does not have a return policy. I called approx 2 weeks after I bought it because we found we did not have a use for it and they would not take it back. Her reply to me was "We don't sell used appliances, we can't take it back." I explained that while it was in our possession we did not use it and her answer was "nope, sorry". My point to this review is while we all try to support small business, sometimes businesses are to small to even deal with. I guess sometimes the big box stores are the better answer. read more
