First time: From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place is very clean. That was very important to me. The people at the front desk were all smiling. Jalen is the one who helped me sign up. He was patient and very friendly, seemed really nice. My past experiences with gyms were mixed and I said I wouldn't ever join another one, so it was good to see friendly people immediately. I like the equipment, I just finished PT for torn rotator cuffs so I had specific things I needed to focus on. Every piece of equipment I needed, you had. The most important one was a hand bike and I was thankful there were two of them. It's New Year's Eve and I'm even going in today, would have never thought I'd look forward to it. Second time: Just as great an experience as the first time, workout wise. Love all the machines, the people are still nice and I had a great time. Looking forward to my next workout, I can't wait. I joined this gym for 24/7 access. Now, allegedly because of some merger, they close at 10 pm Friday, and 7 pm Saturday and Sunday. 24 hours ONLY Monday through Thursday. On top of that, they close for Christian holidays. Not Jewish, Islamic, or Hindu holidays, mind you, just Christian. A third of the public is now atheist, agnostic, or "none of the above," and Christians barely make up half the population. So I can't see why the gym is closed to everyone on Easter. My working out in no way interferes with the observance of their superstitions. read more

I will admit right off the bat that I don't come here as often as I'd like! It's already February and this was my first time coming in this year but I plan on increasing my visits as the year progresses. Anyway, every time I've come in I've always experienced clean machines, a clean studio and no issues with any of the staff. Check-in is simple, you just pull up the Planet Fitness app, select the "check-in" button and scan the barcode at the front desk as you walk in. They have tons of cardio machines (treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals), a weight floor and tons of strength training machines to choose from. They also have a separate area where you can move through a pre-determined set of workouts, depending on the amount of time you want to spend there. I've never used it but it looks neat. My husband has told me they have a separate area for tanning around the back but I've never ventured past the treadmills and the weight floor. Overall I'd say I've had a pretty positive experience at this gym since I've joined over a year ago. It's only $10/month so I can't really complain about much else. read more

Was ok while a member. Was just to far for me to work out as much as I liked. Notified them today I would be canceling and would like to use my earned perk points. I was not allowed to use the points and the remaining pre-paid days were voided. David at the counter was rude and short with me when I wouldn't stay on. Claimed to be helpless to help with points and didn't even attempt to talk to the GM who was on site. Was told a closer location would open soon but after today I'm sure I'll pass. read more

I have been happy with Planet Fitness for the price. However, this weekend the majority of PF locations in this area have started closing at 10:00 PM on Fridays & 7:00 P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays. I have no idea why a company that has marketed itself as being cheap and convenient would want to do this. I work out mostly at night and the 24 hour availability was the reason why I left a nicer, limited availability gym and joined PF. Now that I can no longer work out when I want to, It's time to switch to a gym that has free weights, a track & the other additional features that a lot of gyms in this area offer. read more

This Planet Fitness is run by fascists. I had already scanned in, using my phone. I was two minutes on the elliptical machine when the women from the counter tells me I have to sign in on the sign in sheet. I tell her I've already scanned in. (Btw, she is addressing me by my first name, so she has all my membership information already)...she's telling me the sign-in sheet (with 10 names already listed on it) is a liability form. I'm (was) a Black Card member, I pay extra to use other Planet Fitness locations as it suits my schedule. This lady starts telling me that I either have to sign the sign in sheet or make Hurst TX my "home gym," (seriously, with already poor customer service, I don't want to do this.) I say "I haven't had to sign this at other locations, I will not comply." She starts telling me if I don't sign, I have to leave, if I don't leave, they're going to call the police and have me removed. I agree to leave. She hands me a business card, which I tear to shreds. I get my purse from the locker room, and start to walk out...and there's the sign up sheet again...so I write "Fuck You" in big letters. This does not please the counter ladies, so they snatch it away from me. I get to my car...I click on the Planet Fitness app...and they had put a block on all locations. I then have to drive to Grand Prairie, and pay $70 to "buy out" my membership. This is on top of the $24.95 (there's tax on their monthly charges) monthly charge that they charged to me yesterday, and refused to refund. Almost $100 later, and I can't go to the gym. It's shocking because I was totally minding my own business on the elliptical machine. There wasn't anyone on that row, either. I was completely leaving everyone alone and just trying to do some cardio. I even wiped down the machine before starting. The liability wavers are for the massage chairs and the tanning booth. I wasn't using either, that day. Then for them to come out on the gym floor, and demand I sign the sign in sheet, totally interrupting my workout...just beyond the pale. It's like they had to find some other way to exert dominance and control over their patrons since Texas removed the mask mandate. The whole purpose of scanning your phone is for "contactless check in." And they're not respecting that policy AT ALL. So they're going to interrupt your workout, to have you sign papers. Taking it back to the desk and leaving my name and signature in open view for everyone and anyone to see. Which I felt was a violation of my right to privacy. And then they locked my account and banned me after I refused to submit to their totalitarian game. It's not right, and I feel violated and threatened. And they took my money and negatively affected my health by denying me a way to exercise. I can't believe this experience just happened to me. **edit - do you guys see this reply from their customer service department? No acknowledgement of how rude they were or WHY I would have to sign-in a second time on a paper sheet, that anyone in the gym can see. The customer service response, alone, should be a clue to stay away from this whole chain. I guess because it is SO cheap, you get what you pay for. read more

1st off there's a crowd meter that goes to up to 20 bars; this location 2 bars means you probably can't do what you want when you want. There's usually a bunch of cellphones, water bottles, jugs, and car keys on the floor if no bag!!! Edited this because again, a dude this morning takes a bench to lay his cellphone water and keys down so he can bench next to. So a beginner gets 2 benches in front of the free weights. No gym bag wtf?!?! Real gyms don't GAF! Oh try to tan... the front desk likes to put timer on before you fill out the dumb sign in sheet and before you can take clothes off and put on tanning lotion! Good luck on the 3minutes u have before the tanning bulbs light up! Imagine if we had to wear masks! I'd for sure Not be a member! So multiple times I've gone to this Planet Fitness just to tan. I work late and its about 10 minutes out of my way. This is the third time that I've gone around midnight and seen the following sign. No employee. If you need one - find them... LOL. Well I can tell you I walk the whole gym, massage bed and tanning area, even the womens restroom and there's no employee. I generally wait about 5 minutes and when no one shows I leave. So I am automatically charged monthly. Fine. After not using membership for several months I decided to cancel. Can't cancel online or over phone. Ok I'll come in. Oh, I owe from 3 months ago? How is that, when I am billed monthly? Funny it came out of my account... but they won't let me cancel until this mystery payment is paid. Wow. Ok I paid it. Oh and I will be billed annual fee even though it had only been a few months since last one? Run, hide, avoid at all costs. They are cool until you want to cancel. Annual is yearly. When I cancel during the month should have no bearing on the yearly fee unless it's past a year. Secondly, I was told I had to pay past months that I didn't owe, not the current month. It is a scam. BBB and other consumer sites have same issues from other planet fitness's. read more

I signed up here because it was a new facility, they are a 24 hr facility (I work weird hours) and they had a special going on at the time. Overall, the setup is decent with plenty of cardio equipment, machines, free weights, and other marked off areas for circuits, stretching, and special equipment. One downfall is they don't have free barbells, just Smith machines. They do offer perks such as massage chairs and tanning, but that comes with an upgrade in membership/monthly dues. Another positive is you can bring a friend for free to workout with you anytime, although the friend can't use the perks. The classes they have are not done in a separate room of sorts, rather the group of people are simply taken around the gym as a whole. Not exactly convenient when other members are trying to use the same equipment. ***THE ONE WARNING*** I have for anyone is about cancelling your membership, even if it's not on a contract. I cancelled my membership (in person) just 6 days after the last billing draft came out of my bank account and was told my membership was cancelled immediately and without any refund. This also means I cannot use the facility for the remainder of the month I just paid for, nor will I get any pro-rated money back. I read through the agreement of terms and nowhere does it state such information, nor was this discussed when I questioned billing and cancellations before I signed up. What a terrible concept-not consumer friendly at all. One other thing to consider... I was able to go to any Planet Fitness location (of which I did) but the other locations were less than impressive. They smelled like sweaty gyms, I had to fight for machines/equipment, not the same equipment was available (for example some locations have rowers, others do not, some had slam balls while others only have medicine balls), parking was not fun and a lot of the locations are in what feel like unsafe places... probably one reason they can offer lower rates. You definitely get what you pay for with this company but you will get taken advantage of when it comes time to cancel. I placed a call to the corporate office this past week about billing and have yet to get a return call. I sent in two different website inquiries as well and got a generated emails that say I just need to call the gym I had a membership at. I decided to call and asked for a manager and explained my concern. I was told my concerns of billing were still the way they do things but the manager would be in tomorrow and to call back. No one wants to take responsibility or be accountable for a consumer concern. Another disappointing experience in this selfish world of people and businesses. read more

Terrible gym if you plan on working out for more then 30 mins or actually use their free weights. Was told by the manager we were using too much weights and people were complaining. When we put some weights back their was nobody using free weights and there was still two other sets of the same weights. Manager told us to just go to another gym without providing us a reasonable solution. Very inexperienced management and the franchise owner should rethink who represents their gym on a daily basis. read more

I joined online which was a mistake. Once I got close to the club, I noticed it was in a very bad neighborhood. Homeless people walking around, a car with it's windshield shot out across the street, broken glass in the parking lot. I immediately knew I did not feel safe coming to this location. When I asked about switching, I was told I could not switch locations for 3 months, however if I signed up for the Black card, I could go to any club I would like. Considering they have NO CONTRACTS! signs everywhere, I felt confident upgrading by a click on the app. I went to the Euless location for a month or so, which was much better. However the time came that a club opened that I had been waiting on and I was ready to cancel. I went up to Euless, where they told me I'd have to go to Hurst. Bummer. I went to Hurst and was greeted by someone who seemed high on meth with neck tattoos.. gross. I asked to cancel my membership wherein I was informed that I'd signed a year contract! What?! By this point I'm so disenchanted that I told them to just charge me to break the contract so that I'd never have to go back there again. What a terrible experience. I paid way too much for a couple months at low quality gyms in horrible neighborhoods. read more

Don't come here if you feel like actually working out. My boyfriend and I have come here for about 2 months and never had a problem until one of their employees came up and told us we were using too many weights when we only had three sets of weights. Said people were complaining over the past couple of days because we had a whole rack when we didn't. We weren't even here the past two days and the Friday we were here we didn't use the weights. I took one of my sets back and there was only two people actually using the weights and the weight they were using, there was another set. I think he just had a problem because we work out in the corner of the gym. He said it would be fine over there but because we are in the corner it's not. Even though when we work out, we have to lay down and run and jump and there is not enough room where he wants us to work out. We would get complaints over there if we did that. We said the amount of weights they have is the gyms problem because it makes no sense that if I have a certain set of weights, and someone else has the other set of same weights, if one other person wants to use that particular set, I can't use mine anymore. He then tried to make it seem like we should feel special because he's let us use the weights while we have been going here like oh okay thanks so much for letting me use the gym equipment at a gym I pay for. When we took our weights back, no one was even using them. Most of the people who go here when we do don't even work out and there usually isn't ever people who want to use the weights. If people had been complaining he should've told us when they first complained but he didn't when he said it so called started. We always put the weights back and wipe the mats off after we use them like we're supposed to so it's not like we're rude or inconsiderate, we literally just mind our business and workout but apparently that's not okay here. He then told us if we wanted to workout we should go to another gym. Needless to say I won't be coming back since I'm not allowed to use something I pay for. This location doesn't have a place to sit down and shower. They have an extra large shower but not even a chair in it. I have fibromyalgia and I get vertigo. I can not stand up in a shower. Any shower. It's painful and sometimes I feel dizzy when I'm washing my hair and close my eyes. I know. I'm old and weird. I'm really not trying to sound like a baby. I rarely even mention my stupid ailments to anyone. I just take care of my business but I literally can't take a shower if I can't sit Down so maybe y'all could fix that for all of us old farts. Let's talk about customer service. Dave or David is it? Yeah, I'm not sure what you saw in him to hire him to service the public. He obviously does not want to work there or at all who knows. My first day at the gym was yesterday and my experience was great until I had questions. I stood at the counter and had to wait for him to acknowledge me. Then he acted like I was bothering him when I was talking. Tried to make small talk with him and he looked at me as if I was the enemy because he actually had to work! It was awkward and his behavior completely threw me off. This gym is close to my house and open 24 hours and this is why I chose it. The first gentleman I came in contact with Chayan was nice and friendly, he did not make me feel as if I was a burden to him. I will be writing the corporate office to let them know to hire friendlier, kinder, more personable people because if I had to deal with people like David or Dave on a consistent basis, I would cancel my membership and choose another establishment. read more
