This is basically 24 hour fitness just with different branding. The interior looks almost identical. There are a few key differentiators that do make Fitness Nation a better alternative: the machinery is in a little better shape and they do have a wider range of equipment. The staff are also a lot friendlier and the price is just unbeatable. I'm very disappointed by their Covid response. When they first opened, they "required" gloves and masks at all times, and even sold kits for $1 at the front desk. I say "required" because it was clear that rule wasn't enforced. People were walking around with their masks pulled down to only their mouths or around their necks, plenty without gloves exercising too closely to others. No staff was walking around to enforce the policy at any point. That was worrisome enough but it is even worse now that they no longer require masks, only gloves. That policy makes zero sense because the virus is airborne and spread via respiratory droplets and not as commonly by touching surfaces. I will say at least 24 Hour Fitness is taking their response a little more seriously by opening in phases and requiring reservations. read more

I like this gym. It has loads of machines. Also, the icing on the cake is them being open 24/7! The gym always smells very much like feet and that's a downside, but I understand...it never closes! Also, I hate that you have to supply your own locks. I end up just lugging all my stuff with me as I work out. This is a great value gym. $10 a month and I believe $40 once a year for maintenance. For the weightlifters: 5 squat racks , dumbbells going up to 120, several cable stations and easily 50 or so machines make this good for serious lifters but probably not the powerlifting type. For cardio folks- 30 treadmills, a similar number of ellipticals and 10 stair masters are available. Also a basketball court that's usually pretty busy after 5 most weekdays. And the folks up front always make it a point to say Hi and Bye. Is it an equinox? No. But bang for your buck- it's a great deal. read more

Great gym. Has everything you need equipment wise. Also basketball court and sauna. BUT!!!! Half the time you'll go in the mens sauna and it's either luke warm or not warm at all. Guys like me expect to go in a sauna and feel trouble breathing or like were about to have a heat stroke, that's how a sauna should be! I've had 4 guys come in the sauna right now and complain about the same thing! I called front desk earlier to have maintanence come fix it, but they weren't here? & also boss isn't coming in for another 2 hours so no one can fix it. So I took initiative myself and figured out how to turn it on. So since the owners and employees don't give a f*** about the people that pay and keep their gym up and running here is a little tutorial on how to turn on the mens sauna if it's not hot. Just look on the left side of the sauna and below in the little box corner there will be a little lever, just flick it and you'll know it turns on because it will make little sounds. 15/20 minutes later the sauna will be hot! You're welcome owners of Fitness Nation. Keep up the good work! (Also I'm not the type to bitch and complain and leave bad reviews on everything but this had to be done! I have been coming to this location since it was 24 hour Fitness. Now that it's Fitness Nation i was skeptical at first but it has by far exceeded my expectation. New up to date machines, equipment and friendly staff. They greet you and say bye every single time. Another thing I absolutely love is how clean this gym is. Someone is constantly walking around and disinfecting the equipment, the staff walks the floor and racks weights if needed. In case the cleaning crew doesn't get to a machine quick enough, there is anti bacterial spray and napkins in several locations throughout the gym. I highly recommend this gym and have convinced at least 20 of my friends and family to join this gym. read more

So my friend goes to this gym and was talking all about how cheap it was and how great it is compared to LA, 24 hour fitness etc. when I got there I seriously thought I was at a 24hour fitness. Me, myself is not a fan of 24 hour fitness fan. They have older machines, you feel gross while you're there and the paint scheme seems like you're back in the 1990s. Yes, I guess for super cheap you get what you paid for. I would never buy a membership here myself but for someone who wanted to workout while out of town, it got the job done. Apparently they have yoga and cycle class too so if you're going for cheap and don't really care about quality, this is the place. Otherwise stick with an LA fitness that's a step above. read more

Great gym if you don't go there 5pm to 7pm. No pool, no sauna, overpriced trainers. One of the receptionists is rude and rolls her eyes when you ask for help. If you like to play basketball, they usually play a pick up on Monday evenings and weekends and they would ask you to leave the court because they have the numbers. I come here about 2-3 times a week never have trouble with my card or scanning it to get in. Then this new guy I've never seen made me scan my card 5 times and verified my name. Then I asked if there was an issue with my card so he asked me to scan it one more time and said no I was probably scanning another card instead. Equipment is often broken and takes forever to be repaired. Many items are worn. Front desk staff really never have an answer to any questions and never volunteer to find one. People who "workout" there spend inordinate amount of time sitting on machines looking at phones. AC in back room is ALWAYS broken. Haven't even had the thermostat put back on the mount in months. No gym etiquette observed. People never unload the racks or presses. Seriously? You can squat, deadlift , press 400+ pounds but you can't unload it? Only person who does any work is the custodian/maintenance/handyman guy. WORKS his butt off. And if you need to pause a membership (prepaid)for say Surgery, you can't. You just lose those months. Parking lot is always really filthy and overgrown . No idea what prompts humans to just dump trash and food from their cars on ground on way in to gym! We've been tolerating this place for several years mainly due to convenience, but this will be the last. Consider paying a few dollars more if you're a serious or even mid level gym rat and go elsewhere. They take your money and in return do the absolute bare minimum. read more

The customer service is horrible! The manager (I believe his name is Moe) was very condescending when I brought an issue in regard to another gym member to his attention. Instead of rectifying the issue he belittled my concerns. I told him that I would like to cancel my membership, he then proceeded to ask me, "well what are you going to do cancel your membership at every gym when there is a problem, you can't let people get to you like that." His job is to rectify the issue not judge me or belittle my valid concerns. I am very disappointed in how the staff handled this situation. I will never use another Fitness Nation gym ***Update in response to the business owner: There was something they could have done and it was post a sign in the sauna to remind members to use audio devices at a volume that isn't disturbing other members. For a member to play their music so loudly that 3 other members have to leave the sauna is ridiculous, and the front desks respond was for me to get headphones to drown out the other member's music is unacceptable. One of the members who walked out with me had on headphones and could still hear the lady's music. The music she was listening to was also obscene and filled with profanity. It was not the type of music any member should have to listen to inside of a small enclosed space like a sauna. I am very disappointed in how everyone in this facility handled this situation. I used to be a member of 24 Hour Fitness down the road from here but got so fed up with how dirty it was and the lack of customer service. I switched over to this gym about 3 months ago and am beyond impressed. Every single time I walk in the door or am leaving I am greeted with a friendly hello or goodbye. It's a small gesture but to me it really does make a difference. The equipment here is all new and in great shape. Also, there is a ton of different machines! I have never had to wait for one. One of the most impressive things is how clean they keep it. That was one of my biggest complaint at 24. This gym is kept spotless- I'm not exaggerating. In summary this gym is everything 24 was not - oh and it's only $10 a month. 24 would laugh at that price if you every asked for it. Yes they have a initiation fee and a one time a year maintenance fee but overall it is completely worth it. read more

There is no sauna at this location, and going to Arlington for one is not worth the dirtiness of the gym. Overall great gym for a low price $10 per month. Nice selection of cardio machines, weights and a basketball court. Wish the Zumba toning class was taught more than once a week. Other than that there are decent number of group and cycling classes available. The only complaint I have is it'll be great if the staff notified members of cancelled group classes. I showed up today 4/15 for Zumba scheduled at 11am and the instructor never showed up. There were a few of us who showed up for class. We didn't see any cancellation signs posted anywhere. read more
