We were on our way to the Smith Point Beach yesterday when our car started to overheat. We got to the beach and let it cool off, but we were 50 miles from home and nervous, so we stopped at a "Service" station on the way up and bought anti freeze, but got no help puttinng it in. Then we spotted STS and our luck changed. The manager greeted me on the way up and asked what they could do for us. He then called for Joseph, who took a look under the hood. Since the car was not overheating at this point, he was able to get the radiator cap off safely, and gave it a needed drink. Afterwards, they would not take my money, so the least I can do is tell everyone in Yelp how nice and helpful they were. I hope we won't need car service in Shirley anytime soon, but at least we know where to go if we do. read more

I got a flat, of course on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I had Gieco come and put my donut on and while waiting I made an appt on the website to get the tire serviced here. My appt was at 3pm (Sunday) when I got there at 230 the manager was extremely nice, told me it would be a few mins. The boy that did my tire was very nice and efficient also. The manager while answering phones for other customers, and speaking with his staff about the jobs they were doing also made it a point to have a conversation with me while I waited. Only one technician has a NYS Inspection license so be prepared to wait. I only went here because I bought the tires from them and was told rotations were free. Apparently when they put your information in incorrectly and don't double check, the history isn't available and you're billed $19.99. THEN when you get the car back, 24 hours later you get a surprise while driving of the tire pressure monitoring system light on and all your tires down to 25psi. Well below the 35psi clearly listed on the door jam like every other car in production. I feel bad for Dave. He seems knowledgeable and genuinely enjoys his job and he's stuck working with a bunch of hacks. Back to the inconvenient dealer I go because this is a waste of time. read more

Mike the assistant manager greeted me at the front desk with his nose sticking out of his face mask. Now I have to quarantine in fear of giving covid to my family. I told him to put it on right and he said his glasses fog up. (photo included) this is how he was moving peoples cars in the parking lot. make sure you wash your cars down after being in that dump. Mike received a very detailed list of parts that were said to be replaced on my vehicle and when asked if the vehicle can be towed there to be worked on in the morning, he said YES. The morning came and he THEN said NO. Why would he do this to his customers??? I lost the money towing the vehicle and had to hire another tow truck driver to bring it to a real shop. I told him that he should make good and arranged my vehicle to be towed to a shop that can help. He was rude and not to mention he looked like he just crawled out from under a rock. greasy hair and a nasty attitude. People don't have money to throw away like this because this poor excuse of a man does his job half asleep and doesn't listen to the customer. Mike could have just said NO in the first place and I would have called a REAL business that can actually fix things. I will NEVER bring any business their way. I brought my 1988 Cadillac in for a safety inspection, after sitting there for 3 hours, I was told it doesn't pass inspection because of brake bulbs out and it needed brakes.what she didn't know was the car has been sitting in my driveway for a year only driven 225 miles from the last inspection "done by the same STS" I asked her how is that possible I needed brake pads if brake pads on average last 30,000 miles? Her reply was "I wasn't here when they passed it".On top of that she wound't give me my keys back after I refused to get all of her work done, saying she wanted $10 for the inspection service, which they didn't do and I never received a sticker.So I gave her the $10 for my keys and told her now you lost a customer for life after going there for 10 years. Then I went around the corner to another station and they told me there's plenty of brake pad left on your car then inspected the lights and none were Out and gave me the inspection sticker in 15 mins.So as for me I won't be back and nether will my girlfriend. read more

I paid $160 for 2 sets of brakes, meanwhile where I live in the Hamptons, I would've been charged $250-$300. I had a screw in my tire and my old mechanic said I needed a new one, but they plugged it and saved me $100. These guys are honest and quick- not to mention their great prices. I only come here if I need anything done. Simple oil change or tire rotation and it's usually done between 30-45 minutes (when you come in as soon soon as they open). Why can't people do their job? I called yesterday to ask about getting an oil change on my car. I asked them to check to make sure they had the filter needed in stock. They told me they did and it wouldn't be a problem if I came down first thing in the mornjng. I get up early and stand outside in the heat for almost an hour so that I'm first in line and can get in and out. They open up and the gal working the counter tells me my car is too new and they don't stock the filter? So WHY did I bother calling yesterday to check and I was told they did have it? I had a 9am appointment for an inspection. I was there at 8:50am with 2 people waiting outside in front of me with no appointments. My car didn't get pulled in to the back until 10:15am. I was going to wait for my inspection but it failed due to bad tires and the brakes looked worn but didn't look like they should fail the inspection. But I was ok with them being changed. So I was told I needed all new brakes and 4 new tires. 1 tire was only a few months old and was practically brand new. So I guess they are doing me like that. So ok I agree to the 4 tires and 4 brake pads. Might as well get 4 tires that match. So I left since they had to order the parts... I call at 12:30pm and still no parts. I call at 3pm and they had the wrong parts but just got the new ones and I'm advised by 4:30pm my car will be complete. So I show up at 430pm and my car is not complete. But now I'm being charged for brakes and rotors and tires. I said we didn't agree on rotors and she said well it needed them. When she walked me around the car she said it only needed brakes. But what do I do now since I need my car im stuck with this bill I can't afford and didn't agree too. Not just the fact it didn't need rotors in the first place. This is a bad business practice and is definitely illegal. I am sure I am not the first one this has happened to. I hope this review changes your mind from doing business here. read more

had 4 new tires done a couple of months from STS tires. Needed to fix 1 flat tire and put a new battery. Says i need new wipers . I had just replaced wipers a few months back. The total was explained a different amount and when I got the new bill it was different amount. The manager on top of that said 20% discount. Did not see the discount. Don't bother. Called their number and made an appointment for balancing and rotating of all four tires. Set up the appointment and headed there right after work. Arrived and was told it would be at least a two hour wait because they only have one guy working. I informed them I had an appointment and they said there was nothing they could do. I called back to their appointment service as I drove away to let them know what a waste of time that was and they said it was the stores fault for not tapping the busy button and the guy on the phone said none of the stores around me show as busy so they must not be tapping their busy buttons. I informed them that system obviously doesn't work then to which he responded "you're just calling to complain". Haha GREAT costumer service. I brought my truck there to get both front brakes done and had also asked them to take a listen and look for the squeaking noise when they test drove it after doing the brakes, I brought the truck in on time and received a call about 45 min later that he couldn't find the lock for the rim. I explained in detail where it was and was told they looked and it wasnt there. I was then told either come pick up the truck or come find it. so I had to get a ride back there to find the lock. I ended up finding it in less than a minute in the exact location I told the man it was. he clearly didn't look. the truck was there until closing which is fine however the guys were more worried about getting off work than customer service. they did not test drive the vehicle all they did was drive it to The front from the back bay and when I asked about the squeaking noise he said he didn't hear anything and no one told him about it. Now 3 weeks later my truck is back in the dealer shop because it's undrivable due to the front passenger axel being so completely rusted and work away. I have spoke to many mechanics and everyone agrees that there is literally no way you could miss the amount of rust under that truck when doing the brakes that they clearly just put forth no effort. I am not blaming sts for the axel I am however when a customer asks for something to be looked at that maybe they should do that they would have found the truck unsafe to drive read more

I get the and the manger MARK ARTALE had an attitude from the jump .... I walked in and role him I had an appointment and he said I had a 2 hour wait and I was like what's the point of appointments... So I left him to the keys to my car and went next door to Pizza Hut ... I was there for like and hour and a half and then I went back to STS he was like we couldn't get your hood open and he said he tried to call me but I forgot to tell him I change my number from the one they had on file and then I said that and he was like oh well that's nice u should have told me and I just brushed it off and me and my boyfriend sat down in the waiting area ... As we were sitting quietly in the waiting are he had on the tv about arian brotherhood and how blacks should be killed now keep in mind I'm a black women and my boyfriend ls caucasian male ...so I got so upset and I walked out the front door as I was standing outside in the rain (yes I was that made u stood in the rain with my phone ) all so I wouldn't big out !!!!i heard him chuckle and say she's getting a 25 dollar oil change on a 20 thousand dollar car .... So to make a story short I leave 3 days later my cars starts ticking cause he didn't put the right oil in it nor recommend me to get the better oil and I called corporate and the compensated me with the oil change I paid for and the new oil change I got with the right oil at jiffy lube !!!! So don't walk run out of STS they genuinely do not care about your car and they are extremely rude and I can promise you I will never go there nor refer someone to a tainted shop like STS... Just pay a few more dollars and get a piece of mind and go to jiffy lube and get the job done right the first time !!!! read more

I brought my car there because I had a valve stem come out. They were able to fix it but after driving around for a day I had a noise coming from the rear driver side. Ends up the tpms sensor came off inside the tire. The tech didn't put the right sensor on and didn't install it correctly. Definitely would not recommend this store to anyone. I tried calling to bring it back but they didn't pick up until the 4th time. They answered in Spanish. Don't go here. read more

Went there today because I got a pretty nasty flat and I replaced my two back tires. I have to say, I didn't do much shopping around because I wanted the whole ordeal to be over with so I can't say how their prices compare to anyone else's. I can say that they charged me around four hundred for two Pirelli tires including warranty and installation. I can also speak to their service. The assistant manager seemed to be in a bad mood but the manager said they could fit me in (30 minutes before closing) so I stayed. They finished it in about 45 minutes which means they stayed late for me, and I really appreciated that. Oh and the assistant manager warmed up to me eventually so all in all it was great. read more

Wow! This was a great experience. Honestly. From the minute I walked in, I was treated in a courteous, professional manner, by a friendly, knowledgable manager. I explained that I had a vibration and the car pulled to the right. I know I was in need of brakes. It turns out that one of my tires , I purchased elsewhere, was badly damaged. After I was actually shown the damaged tire, ( so glad I came in when I did), everything on my car was checked out! I was kept informed and I was asked permission for every part of the service performed. I had brakes, an oil change, tires and they noticed a brake light was out and fixed it. I didn't even realize it was out! Saved me a ticket, I'm sure. They inspected my car and really made sure I was comfortable and informed ( about the repairs and the cost) every step of the way. The waiting area is clean, complete with coffee, tea, and a water cooler. Even the outside area was inviting. Not a mess like other places I have gone too. ( not anymore, I'll only come here from now on). To me, that matters, since I think if the outside area is unkempt , it shows a disregard for the customers! Not here! I couldn't be happier with STS in Shirley! When I drove off their lot, it felt like I was driving a different car! And I wasn't driving to the poor house! I"m coming back next week with my other car! Thank you to the incredible manager Mark and fantastic mechanics at STS , on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley! Finally, complete car service without the fear of being ripped off!
