Not sure why this place has such a low rating. I came in to compare prices for new internet since…read moreI've recently moved. The whole process was quick and painless. Download the app, create your account, and everything else is pretty much there. I was given my router, and Jessica was transparent about prices. She even went above and beyond to make sure I'm getting the best pricing. The only con I see is the horrible, congested area it's located in, but what can you do when Trader Joes is right there.

Arrogant and disgusting customer service. I was having…read moreissues with the unlocking of my SIM card from my former carrier over to Cox. After each carrier blamed the other for the inability to unlock the card, and after having been transferred from one agent, department to the next without the agent explaining the situation to the former, I was left to continue repeating myself?! Finally, I headed out to the Hillcrest location. These two men there, one in his mid thirties; the other late 30's had these arrogant attitudes as if I were inconveniencing them?! They said "you will have to call them, Spectrum , to get them to unlock the card." We can't do anything to help you?!" Back and forth both Spectrum and Cox blamed the other. Now just how am I supposed to call them without service?! I don't know what to tell you, but you can't come in here and expect to use our phones to get your card unlocked?!?" I said absolutely nothing more. I got up from my seat and walked out the door. Look into AT&T, Verizon, or any other carrier. Save your time and money. There are SO many other companies that will compete for your business and are concerned with customer retention. This business couldn't care less about obtaining your business, let alone retaining it.

For the most part my Spectrum/Charter service has been reliable. The reason I am giving Spectrum a…read morelower rating is because they were charging me for 200 Mbps service when I was only receiving 100 Mbps. Their excuse for not fixing the issue on their own was they had a merger and did not take it upon themselves to alter the agreement I had previously. I did not have a previous contract that they would have needed to alter. I feel when they altered their service they should have informed customers of the available services. They knew I was paying for 200 Mbps service and left me at 100 Mbps. I contacted them in attempt for them to make right the deficiency, but they only offered to switch me to the 200 Mbps service that I had already been paying for for 4 years. They did not offer me a refund or any other form of restitution. I requested that they upgrade me to 400 Mbps service for 12 months at my current rate, but they specified they had no way of doing it. This is a classic example of a large company padding their wallet at the expense of loyal customers. Spectrum did not bury the broadband cables. They left the cables strewn across the ground, some cables were weaving through the pickets of my fence, and I even found a large heap of twisted cable overgrown by grass and weeds. I found a service hub in my back yard behind a tree next to my fence. The hub had cables running from it to other homes near me, and those cables were not buried either. Spectrum, please make this right.

When I signed up, the representative strongly promoted how "great" Spectrum Mobile is, how fast the internet/data would be compared to other providers, and how "cheap" the service would be overall. Those claims did not match reality at all. What bothers me most is not only the pricing change, but the attitude afterward -- it feels like customer concerns are NOTHING, and getting a straight answer is impossible. Because of the unexpected increase and the misleading sales pitch, I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile.

I was initially offered a promotional rate of $90.00 per month for two years for my internet, which I agreed to. However the representative didn't complete the process. When I called back, another representative claimed there was no such offer and quoted me $93.00 instead. After explaining my loyalty to Cox and the original offer I was given, the represena- tive eventually confirmed the $90 promotional rate after putting me on hold for 10 minutes. While I appreciate that they honored the offer. the process was unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating. Cox needs to improve their communications and consistency across their customer service team. If an offer is made, it should be properly documented and honored without requiring multiple calls and lengthy explanations."

It appears the same is largely true here on Yelp. We are 40+ year customers of Cox and I've had enough experience with Cox customer service over those years to see the negative change that's been occurring for a while now. What happened? If Cox isn't checking their customer satisfaction scores here in Google or Yelp for their stores and unaware, they should be alarmed and so should you if you're reading this and thinking of contracting with Cox for home internet. If tho, as I'm guessing their zeal and drive for sales from upstairs has left any interest in their public facing legitimacy behind, it's not a surprise. So unfortunate for a once good company.

My family moved into our house almost 3.5 years ago. It's one thing to get mailers (that go…read morestraight to the recycling bin) every couple of months. It's another thing to walk into my house while my wife and I are working with contractors, interrupt, then - when discovered - resist leaving until I have to walk you to the curb and ensure you walk away. It's another thing to stand for 5 minutes knocking on a door with a NO SOLICITING sign on it before finally leaving...but waiting out on the sidewalk for several minutes afterwards. Yet it's another thing to keep coming every few of months - cosplaying as technicians (the sneakers are the giveaway) and entering our now-fenced off courtyard - for a clownishly aggressive sales pitch, then resist leaving the courtyard after hearing "no thanks, please leave now" from the property owners. But what happened last Thursday was another thing entirely: to hang out in a private driveway, stand outside a parked car, waiting for the owner and his child to exit the vehicle for several minutes, refusing to leave when asked (then told) to do so, and then mean-mugging your prospective customer through the windshield glass of his car for a couple more minutes before finally walking off....but not without further staring down your prospective customer...it's the establishment of an unthinkable new low. Listen Spectrum: I was never a fan. However, any chance of getting our business has been completely obliterated by your door-to-door sales team in Metro San Diego. The aggressive, persistent presence: annoying. The bro-speak sales pitch: slimy. The cosplaying as techs: creepy. The ignoring of direction to exit private property: criminal. The attempt to physically intimidate people while trespassing: hostile and criminal. I don't like this trajectory. You've been reported to the FTC. You've been reported to Spectrum Corporate. Next time it's San Diego Police Department.
