The food here was very good. The brisket was definitely my favorite. I really enjoyed the creamed spinach as well. The service was good. Normally there isn't sit down service for bbq spots in Texas - but this one has service. The ambiance here was very cute and very Texas. I loved the live music aspect to it as well. read more

Stubbs was recommended by a few people so had to give it a try. Everyone from the hostess, bartender, servers, bus boy were fantastic. A++ for service. The food absolutely fantastic! Mac & cheese so creamy, fried okra perfectly crisp, brisket full of flavor and tender, ribs possibly best ever! Went to the Dashboard Confessional show Saturday night! 3 days prior, my wife hurt her foot pretty bad. Horrible horrible service at this venue. Didn't try the food as I was here a concert, staff and management do not communicate. Staff kept telling us to line up at one spot only to tell us we're in the wrong line. Management gives you an attitude for any comment you have. They lack respect and people skills. If they say doors open at x time. That's a lie. You go in whenever they let you. The time on the event doesn't matter. On top of all of this, we had to stand in line. Outside in the hot sun (currently 100°). While staff sat idly by under the shade with a fan, drinking cold water. They WOULD'T even offer us some water. Overall, would not recommend this place. Staff with attitude, they wont let you in even though they themselves set a door open time, selection of drinks is horrible. Restrooms for non VIP tickets are subpar. C- read more

I went for a conference event to Stubb's. The food was really good, brisket, ribs, Cole slaw, and bread. The drinks were good as well. The service and personal attention was great to see in a group so big. If you like the feel of an old honkytonk with great music, this is your place. Gospel brunch!! Do it! You won't regret it. Email or call to make a reservation. The entertainment is great. It is not a buffet- they bring you food. And if you want more or anything, they will bring you more. Brisket was a little dry. But it was good in a tortilla with some sauce. Loved the jalapeño cheddar sausage. Service was great. The real reason why you go is the entertainment. The singing is just great. It lasts an hour and you can't help but clap and sing-along even if you don't know the song. read more

Visited Stubb's for the first time as part of a small group that chose the family style option so we got to try a number of menu items. Overall, the food was good. The pulled pork and sausage were both good. The ribs were great! The sides were okay. The chicken was overcooked and the brisket was tough and chewy, so I would not recommend those. Service was excellent and very attentive. The interior has a traditional Texas feel but is nice. I'd go back for the service and the ribs. read more

Brisket has a great smoke ring and excellent smoke flavor. It very much passes the "bend test" ( if you are a fan of brisket, you know the bend test). Brisket was lean... in a good way.. in no way was it dry. read more

Food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the potato salad and jalapeño poppers. It wasn't the best brisket or Cole slaw I've had, but it wasn't bad. The brisket was a tad dry. The restaurant had a really cool-looking music venue below it. I went for lunch, but I would have liked to go there for some live music. Also, the food came out pretty quick. Not a bad place to go if you're on a time crunch in Austin and want to try some BBQ. read more

Yes! Finally awesome authentic Austin BBQ. They had me when I ordered the MInor Plate (2 meats and 2 sides) and they said "aw aren't you hungry? LOL) I got a bar seat (I was there on a weekday at HH) they weren't super busy. Lots of beers on tap but most importantly the BBQ ribs and brisket were fantastic. They do an all you can eat for a fair price - not too much more than the 3 meat plate. They have a massive outdoor patio with music (not open because I was there in the hotness of June) and this seems like a great place to kick off a football Saturday (1 mile to UT stadium) and pre game. read more

Tried to venture outside of Terry Black's and Franklins but no luck at this place. Ribs were dry. Brisket came in broken small chunks and also dry. Had to use half a bottle of bbq to get it moist. Will not be coming back. read more

WOW - this is the place for BBQ. The smell hits you fast and you know you are in for a treat. So delicious - the pulled pork, the ribs, collards, everything was amazing! Ordered the combo with meats and two sides at Stubbs. The ribs were really good and the service was great. Unfortunately, the brisket was very dry and disappointing. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was just okay, nothing special. Both sides - greens and mac and cheese - were average. For a BBQ place, having subpar brisket really hurts the overall experience. The excellent ribs and friendly service kept this from being worse, but I expected better from a well-known Austin spot. read more

We went for the Sunday Gospel Brunch. Food was cold. Only 3 meat options which included brisket, chicken and sausage. Brisket cold and dry. Maybe left overs from yesterday. Scramble eggs had peppers and onions in it but very cold. Potatoes with pepper and onions very cold. Bacon was good. Service was terrible considering we came at opening time of 10:30 am. No beverages included. Not worth the money way over priced. Small glass of juice was $4.00. read more

My 8-10 oz beer (served in a plastic cup) was $9.00. I ordered the turkey expecting to get either a roasted turkey leg or pulled turkey all juicy and tender as this is a restaurant that specializes in cooking all kinds of meat. What I was served was the equivalent of Jennie O turkey tenderloin that you find at grocery stores. The texture felt like the meat was synthetic. They did right by me though by promptly bringing me something in its place with no charge. This place is expensive. My plate, which consisted of meat and 2 sides, was $17. This restaurant is way too overpriced for me to return. read more

We hesitated due to a couple of bad Yelp reviews. I am glad we went! The food, drinks and service were awesome! I have cooked hundreds of briskets and only a couple could even compare to the what we had at Stubb's. Taste , texture, and charred edges made it. Ribs were flavorful and fell off the bone. And when the pinto beans are that good, you know it is some great Texas BBQ! read more

This review isn't about the food, the food is fine, this is about the music! This is a great venue for live music! I've lost track of how many shows I've seen here, but they've all been great. It's not a HUGE venue, it's big enough to get good bands, but small enough to now feel like you're in a giant venue. Pro tip: If you want a good view but not be right up front, get there early and after you come in at the far end is a deck close-ish to the stage. If you can get to the front of it you're pretty close to the stage but elevated above the crowd. read more

Had a plate of sides ... fried okra, Mac and cheese, potato salad. My friend had the BBQ brisket plate and there was a lot of BBQ that he really enjoyed. The potato salad was my favorite- perfectly seasoned and delicious! The Mac and cheese was good but arrived cold instead of warm. The fried okra was yummy. Texas BBQ at its WORST!! The brisket was so dry and tasted like dried beef jerky flavorless mac and cheese Staff was perfection though!! I can't recall a time I've had better service. Honestly we started discussing me becoming a vegetarian and it suddenly dawned on me "dang! That's some bad bbq". Lastly I loathe and despise LIVE music, but it was actually good The one thing I was dreading about my experience became the best part of it I've seen Stubbs in the grocery store so I was pretty disappointed that the food wasn't good. read more

This is the place if you're in a hurry. The food comes out almost immediately. That is understandable considering the prep time for this food demands things be made in advance. Not a complaint. Did not live up to the hype. Stubb's is legendary. You walk in and the place just looks cool. I ordered the pork ribs expecting what would be either the best or somewhere in the top ten. So many people have told me great things about Stubb's over the years. The first rib I bit into was amazing. Probably the best ever. The meat was not quite falling off the bone but, really good nonetheless. Nicely smoked and with a perfect rub on the outside. The sauce has always been balanced just right. The other ribs on my plate - not so good. Rough, overly-smoked, bland, pork. The sides were average. Nothing to write home about. My friend had the bbq chicken. I sampled a bit and it was also bland. I guess it's the brand name and image that keeps them in business. Great concert venue, that's about the only thing positive I can say. read more

Located in an historic 1850s limestone building in the heart of downtown, Stubb's serves up mouthwatering, slow-smoked Texas barbecue. Equally as loved as a music venue, our amphitheater has featured acts such as Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and James Brown. Established in 1968.

Stubb's Bar-B-Q began it's storied history in Lubbock, TX in 1968. Stubb's served up the best in Texas Bar-B-Q while some of the best musicians around provided the soundtrack. Joe Ely, Jesse "Guitar" Taylor, Johnny Cash, Dollie Parton and Muddy Waters were all big fans of Stubb's original location. We kept that history alive at our downtown Austin location since 1996. The mac-n-cheese was substantial with cheese filled shell pasta with a hint of a smokey flavor. So yummy...Well, I might have eaten "all" the banana pudding. I order a very nice lite afternoon snack, 1/2 lb of Prime Pork Belly Burnt Ends, 1 Pork Sparerib, and a side of Boozy Brussels. The Prime Pork Belly Burnt Ends which are tossed in bourbon sauce and smoked again for a tender meat candy-like finish which was quite to the contrary, not overbearingly sweet, just a hint. The first time that I went to Rollin' Smoke, I wanted to order the Pork Spareribs but they weren't available so that's when I was introduced to the Pork Belly Burnt ends so today, I ordered just 1 Pork Sparerib today which was good but not great, sadly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Boozy Brussel Sprouts which were smoked and flashed fried, a balsamic glaze with whiskey soaked raisins and parmesan. I am definitely returning to check out the Half Chicken Plate with 2 small sides that I eyeballed.

Their bourbon and whisky list alone is worth the visit - everything from American bourbons to rare/unusual Japanese and Agave offerings. The food was incredible, so was the staff! Their house-made hot sauces were so good. I think we nearly finished the small bottle of the original.

We started with the fried green tomatoes. They didn't quite beat the unforgettable ones from The Front Porch Cafe at Dollywood, but they were still tasty and we happily finished them. I ordered the 2-piece dark meat while my cousin got the 2-piece white meat, both with baked beans, slaw, and white bread. The baked beans and slaw were both satisfyingly delicious. When my plate arrived with a thigh and two legs, I thought I had ordered wrong! Our wonderful server, Kamber, explained that the legs were especially small that day, so they have to serve two instead. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and delicious, and I loved learning they use peanut oil. The fresh, natural quality definitely came through. And placing the white bread underneath the chicken? Brilliant--it soaks up the extra oil! Service was fast, friendly, and efficient even though it was a busy Friday lunch hour. Amber was great about answering our questions and regularly checked up on us. She even introduced us to their homemade Chess pie--a classic rich southern custard dessert pie--which we were too full to try this time, next time for sure. We'll be back, especially since there's another location in San Antonio. Next visit, I'm coming hungry for the fried okra, mac & cheese, and seasoned fries! Just wish they also have corn on the cob and corn bread as other sides options. Southern fried chicken craving: officially satisfied.

Gouda Mac & Cheese with Smoked Bacon - This was actually penne pasta with little pieces of the bacon. I actually preferred this pasta choice here. It really soaked up the cheese sauce. The sauce was not too over powerful and was just right. Beans with Smoked Bacon - These were not too bad. I thought they were a little liquidity, but the added bacon pieces definitely helped. Banana Pudding - This came in individual cups, which was nice. The pudding was thick with a little meringue or whipped cream present and a few wafer cookies on top. On Sunday, November 3rd, I had an incredibly distressing experience at Stubb's BBQ. As someone who is visually impaired due to retinitis pigmentosa, I rely on a white cane to navigate safely. Unfortunately, this was dangerously misunderstood by the security staff, resulting in an unacceptable incident. That night, I was physically assaulted by three overly aggressive security guards who mistook my mobility cane for a weapon. Despite my attempts to explain my visual impairment and the purpose of my cane, they disregarded my words and continued with excessive force, causing me physical injury. Shockingly, they then lied to the police about the incident. Although the police did not arrest me--I believe they sensed Stubb's security was in the wrong--they also did not take appropriate action despite my clear statement that I had been assaulted by security. Assaulting a blind person is a federal offense, and this response left me feeling unprotected in a situation that was already traumatic. Adding insult to injury, I was ejected from the event. My partner and I had purchased four tickets to support friends of ours--three of the five bands performing that night were personal friends. We had been looking forward to the music and company, but this incident completely destroyed our evening. I am requesting a full refund for our tickets and a copy of the incident report written by Stubb's, as I am considering filing charges against those involved. I hope Stubb's BBQ reviews its security practices and commits to better training to ensure that such incidents do not happen to others. No one should have to experience what I went through, especially when all they wanted was to enjoy a night of live music. read more

Went to Stubbs tonight for some BBQ and also got alittle music too! We decided on Barbecue tonight to avoid any big crowds at any of the trendy downtown restaurant....little did we know 'MIGGS' was playing tonight. It turned out to be a really fun change in course. Never heard of the band before but it was nice background noise while we chowed down on our favorite BBQ. The band was just starting as we were finishing up and seemed to have a pretty good crowd forming. Back to the important stuff. The Food! Stubbs has got to be the best BBQ in Texas...I've had a lot of BBQ but Stubbs ALWAYS does it right...they don't have good days, and bad days...but always GOOD DAYS! Tonight was another delicious example of that! Tonight I had the pulled pork sandwich and fried okra and onion rings as sides. Definitely hit the spot! I think I could eat Stubbs for every meal. Some of the other guys ordered fried green tomatoes for the table and those were some of the best I've ever had. STAY AWAY from Stubbs! The WORST experience in Austin thus far. Went to Stubbs Saturday night to see my friends band play and was totally shocked when the downstairs bartender refused to serve my wife because she felt "uncomfortable serving her". It was the first time my wife had ever been to Stubbs and she was not intoxicated or behaving strangely. So much for southern hospitality. We paid $10 each at the door only to be refused drinks because the bartender was on some sort of bizarre power trip. After I complained to management the bartender then pulled out the race card and claimed I called her a "spic" - a word that does not even exist in my vocabulary. BTW my wife is latino. The bouncer then approached me and told me I had to leave Stubbs for name calling. I got kicked out! A friend of mine who was there with me that night was so disappointed that he emailed general manager Ryan Garrett the next day to complain about the service and gestapo tactics of his employees only to met with a rude response. So the bullish behavior goes from the top down. STUBBS IS THE WORST ESTABLISHMENT IN AUSTIN, TEXAS. DO NOT ENTER!!!!!! read more

What started out as quite honestly a joke is going to for sure be a new tradition. My friends and I had been hearing about Sunday Gospel Brunch at Stubb's. Since none of us can roll out of bed for church on Sunday mornings we figured the next best thing would be redemption at sunday gospel brunch. What we were picturing and what actually took place were totally different. The music was great and the food was even better. We were pleasantly surprised to find a "make you own" Bloody Mary bar. HECK YAH, that's what we all needed. So we did. Three times each : ) Best Sunday gospel experience ever. Aside from good music and good bloody mary's, the food was amazing. I had never been to Stubb's before but now know what I have been missing. Sunday Brunch, which will for sure be a new tradition, had yummy buffet with brisket, migas, grits, fried catfish, and bread! Although Sunday brunch was a blast I want to return to Stubb's for dinner one night to try their turkey which is my favorite kind of BBQ. Here's one i'll never understand. Why do people hate on Stubbs? This place is a legendary BBQ pit and live music venue. I've seen so many great shows here I don't even know where to start. Robert Plant, Mumford and sons, Cat Power ect.. Not to mention the BBQ, it is almost the best part, nothing could be better than the killer live shows. I always take my family here for BBQ when they come to town and even my step dad, who has legendary BBQ ribs of his own, loves this place. It's a wonder everybody hates on the BBQ, it's probably because they have no idea what Texas BBQ is supposed to taste like, I'm talking to you Karl M. The Brisket is always juicy and tender and the ribs always fall right off the bone. If i'm feeling like a sandwich for lunch, i'll stop by for a quick lunch cause i work downtown. The pulled pork is amazing. I always get my food in a matter of seconds. The staff is always friendly and the nice little girl at the front door is super nice and helpful. So, don't hate on a legend, stop by and enjoy the amazing slow smoked BBQ! read more

Regrettably, our experience at this establishment fell short of expectations. While our meal was enjoyable, it failed to leave a lasting impression that would compel us to return. The brisket lacked the tenderness and flavor that we've come to expect from other BBQ joints in the area, and the pulled pork was disappointingly dry. The service lacked enthusiasm and the interior ambiance didn't capture the essence of a traditional BBQ backyard setting. However, the redeeming aspect of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional sides. The spinach cheese and Mac n cheese were nothing short of phenomenal, and the ribs were tender enough to effortlessly fall off the bone. Remarkably, despite its shortcomings, the prices here are significantly lower compared to other renowned BBQ establishments in the vicinity. There are many BBQ places in the area - but when Im hungry for the smoked meat I always choose Stubbs! We usually tend to order like crazy people when we go out for bbq - lots of appetizers, beer, and even more meat! My past experience was so satisfying that I decided it was time for me to write a review! It was a busy saturday, per usual, but it didnt take long for the large group I was with to get a table. We got a few appetizers to share and everything was just delicious. We then did the family style BBQ for dinner - 3 meats (all you can eat) and sides! The chicken was PERFECT... very tender, juicy, and flavorful. And the pinto beans on the side - mmmm mmm mmm, I couldnt stop eating them! The service was excellent and the food came out quickly. I was there over the weekend for the Citizen cope/ passafire show. The staff acted like childish thugs. I saw a Bouncer attack a woman taking pictures. After being charged $10 to get in the bartender told a woman in our group that she didnt feel comfortable serving her. I watched the bartender turn sober people away while pushing shots on slobbering drunk people. At the end of the night the staff harassed and cussed at customers. At one point I saw a man standing outside near a motorcycle waiting on the rest of his group when an employee ran out screaming why are you standing beside my bike, more of his thug friends decided to jump in and antagonize this customer who was just waiting outside. Was in Austin for a job interview with Dell up in Round Rock during the week of SXSW. My hotel was in downtown Austin, so I thought I'd check it out. I chose Stubb's because my dad had his BBQ sauce on his shelf, so it looked like it might be a good choice. Parking was a real mess. I was offered drugs on my way from the parking garage to the restaurant. There was live music downstairs, but I ate upstairs. The bar area was hopping. The table service was horrible. The menus were filthy. The ribs were awful. The BBQ sauce wasn't good. I paid my bill, and got the heck out of there. I won't ever return to Stubb's. Texas has far better BBQ spots...check out the reviews here on Yelp first, though! read more

I always have a good time at Stubbs when I go to concerts. I'm only giving it four stars because if you're short, and not dead center on the barricade your view will be blocked by security after midnight. They kept everyone safe and were great throughout the show, I just wish they didn't put two big guys in front of the singer all night. (Translated by Google) I always had fun with Stubbs when I went to concerts. Reposting because it seems they keep trying to mark this as fraud or something but I want the other military families in the area to know about how awful and rude the staff (+food tbh) is at this establishment... 2/11/2018 Refused to serve a soldier recently home from overseas because he forgot to tip. Will never be back to a place with subpar food that touts its patriotism but has employees so entitled they refuse to serve after not being tipped for one drink. Honestly? So we walked into the door to a cool decor, but the Hostess didnt appear to give a crap whether we were there or not (short dark haired Hispanic girl). So then we get to table and the waiter was more worried watching the news about Antonio Brown getting released by the Patriots. He did check on is a couple times during dinner, but when we said we didnt want any dessert he tossed the check at us. As a true austenite, its only fair to say I've had my fair share of meat--bbq that is... I love Stubbs gospel brunch, but when I am in the mood for bbq--stubbs is the way to go. Located in the heart of downtown and the rustic atmosphere it's a great spot to go with a bunch of friends for some good ole bbq. I usually go with the all-you-can-eat plate. I ALWAYS get the marbled brisket, sausage and ribs. As for sides they have killer fried okra and love their pinto beans...not to mention a good cold beer to go with. So disappointed. We were on vacation in SanAntonio and decided to go for the Gospel Brunch advertised online at Stubbs. Tried to call with no answer on one phone number and an answering machine on another. Website and door stated that they were open at 1100 but it was not. Google said they opened at 12 so we stayed since we had driven a good distance to be there. They didn't open at 12 either. You could tell they were cooking but no one still answered any phones for take out or anything. Long drive for nothing. Wish I could rate the food but sadly won't be able to. read more

This was the first spot my girlfriend and me ate at while visiting Austin. I was pretty disappointed in the food, especially after getting recommendations to go here. We got all you can eat deal, and tried just about everything (brisket/chicken/sausages/fries/beans/etc). They do provide a lot of food and make sure you are fed. If you're in Austin, you're in for a treat for BBQ. There are plenty of other great spots to check out. I wouldn't recommend this spot. The only reason why I am giving them three stars is because the service was exceptional. read more

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who sees this place as entirely overrated. Been here a few times (the first time was my suggestion, the others not so much). The food has always been average at best. The last time I went the ribs I ordered came out like beef jerky, they were so tough, and their potato salad doesn't taste like anything. I WISH I was exaggerating. I think this is yet another one of those places in Austin people have convinced each other is chic. I would be willing to bet that the live music is the only thing keeping people going. read more

Came here for the first time even being from out of state just want to sit down and enjoy my husband company. Got seated seem good so far them get the told the longhorns bought out the whole place have to be out by 620pm, only been here for a lite bit. It's just ridiculous they should have planned better for this event dont get me wrong food was okay and Service was good but you can feel the rush when the come by over and over how are we doing. Just the manager should have had better control. May come back not sure. read more

Really good Texas BBQ. If you are wondering if you should come here...YES, or course you should come here. It is a famous old BBQ and music joint, and even though they may rest on that reputation a but much, it is worth a trip. I had the brisket, mashes potatoes and some greens. Everything came out tasty and was gone as fast as we could shove it down our gullet. The jalapeno corn bread wasn't my favorite. This place gets crowded so plan accordingly. read more

If you forget to tip them they refuse to serve you. How entitled can you be?? Those of us returning home after being overseas forget once in a while... We arrived at 5PM for an early dinner after a few hours of tubing in San Marcos. No line and very straightforward to order. Moreno has been renowned as one of the best late-day barbecue spots (with availability of good cuts) so we had to try it out! We ordered the Texas Trinity (1lb. each of brisket, ribs, and sausage so four sausages, and four quarts of sides) and a Saturday special, the Smoked Prime Rib with creamed spinach & scalloped potatoes. Added 1/4 lbs. of pulled pork and a side of onion rings for six people and it ended up being nearly perfect. We were starving after floating the river and skipping breakfast and lunch to drive all morning, so that may impact my score... Brisket (4.5/5): The moist brisket was definitely juicy, and my friend said the lean brisket was great too. Good smoke ring and bark (very peppery), great by itself or with the complimentary potato bread. Sausage (3.5/5 normal, 4/5 jalapeno cheese): I'm never a huge sausage fan, and they're usually too oily for me. That being said, these were some solid sausage. Good crisp bite. Ribs (4.5/5): Tender as can be and also deliciously smoked. Pulled Pork (3/5): Can be skipped, nothing crazy here. Sides: Gouda Mac & Cheese (4.5/5): Can't beat a great creamy mac & cheese. Better than most other sides I've had at traditional BBQ places. Refried Beans (3.5/5): I'm not a huge fan of refried beans but my friends appreciated the option and enjoyed it more than I did. Cole Slaw (4.5/5): This was the surprise of the evening for me. They went with a vinegar-forward cole slaw rather than a creamy one, and it really balanced out our Mac & Cheese, Creamed Corn, and Creamed Spinach (yeah, we got a lot of cream dishes). Great acidity to balance things out. Creamed Corn (3.5/5): I'm also not a huge fan of creamed corn, but it was a solid side. Onion Rings (5/5): Huge and actually good portions? Crispy and hot? Wow, really glad I ordered this. And they paired really well with the BBQ sauce. Prime Rib Plate (4.5/5): Definitely could have ordered this for a normal dinner. Awesome cook, great au jus, and scalloped potatoes were a standout and the creamed spinach was good too. We cut this 6 ways to all get a few bites. Special Mention: Barbecue sauces. All have great acidity and bold, vinegar/mustard flavor. The original was my favorite. It added a ton to everything, actually. Overall, it's a stellar barbecue spot for having everything available later in the day and not having to wait. I wouldn't say it's the best I've had, but they've got some unique sides and a sleeper great barbecue sauce. I paid at the counter via inKind with no issues.

Creamed corn not cooked down style creamy more like elote tossed in heavy cream sauce, Brisket was quite tender and cooked well but lack smoke flavors or heavy black pepper and salt rubbed. Pork belly was tender as well but lack any flavor. Spare ribs were quite small and thin, fall off with perfect bite but standard on the smoke. Not much smoke rings or smoke flavors. Seemed rushed and not low and slow enough. It's very clean and it's like if you had under seasoned it using a Traeger at home. Bbq sauces were standard. Didn't like the 3% on top of tips and taxes messing up my number that I want to charge.

We tried the lamb, coppa, akaushi, and ribs, as well as all of the sides. Everything was really solid and each of us liked different meats best. My favorite was the lamb and you must get the chimichurri with it. None of the sides blew me away but they are better than average for a BBQ spot. It was $150 for a tray that fed 4 of us, a bit steep and the akaushi is more expensive than brisket at any of the best spots so I don't think I'd get it again. We went on a Saturday for lunch, it's not the kind of place (yet) where you need to line up early. They have covered picnic tables but still quite hot in the summer! Not…read moregoing to lie, it was the name that originally intrigued me, but luckily the food is awesome too. Space Kat BBQ's hours are pretty limited (only open from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday) but was totally worth the resulting mid-afternoon bbq hangover. We arrived around 11:40 a.m. on a Thursday and there was no line. I split half a pound of the choice tri tip (they offer two kinds of tri tip: choice and Akaushi, the choice is leaner), a large mac & cheese, and two Hawaiian rolls with a friend. We were very impressed by the lean cut of beef and the juiciness of the meat. Pure perfection! Our order came with three sauces and pickled onions, jalapeños, regular sliced onions, and pickles. My favorite was the warm tomato-y sauce, which meshed perfectly with the brisket. The mac & cheese noodles were perfectly cooked with a creamy sauce that we enjoyed. Overall, a fantastic indulgent lunch and good portion size for two. We chose to eat our lunch at the food truck park and it was a little toasty outside, although the tables are covered (a nice misting fan would make the space perfect as it becomes even hotter this summer). Street parking only. Already dreaming of my next visit!
