LIke any other college student, I was quick in taking out loans, easy money. Obviously I didn't know how or when to start making payments with my lender. One of my friends had told me she heard of this service but I was doubtful of it being able to help me out and its legitimacy. I was supposed to make these ridiculously payments of 100 or more a month when I didn't even have a job yet. So eventually i called them to see what they were all about. They asked if I had defaulted on my loans and I told them no, I thought they were going to say no to me since I still was in good standing with the lender. But no they said that it was still good timing, that they could consolidate my loans, get me placed in a low payment plan possibly of $0 for about a year and place a deferment on my acct since I was unemployed at the moment. They were able to place me in a IBR plan for 0 a month. Even though I am in a $0 plan, I still make payments of small amount now that I'm employed, so not having to make payments for 4 months really helped me in the beginning. If you feel like you can't make those high payments to the lender, I suggest you get in contact with this student service especially if you have defaulted cause I think it can affect your credit and your income. read more

THANK YOU! I was concerned at first because I was scammed before by another service. Then I got a call from Student Services and I hung up. And looked them up! Then I called them back at (818) 208-6969 to double check the credibility of their services and they helped me understand who they are and what they do. So I signed up! A couple months or so later I have been calling my lender if my consolidations were correct and I was relieved to hear everything is as was as expected. I pay less than $100 a month on my repayment plan and this made my life sooo much easier. I don't have time to work full time, go to grad school and learn everything about federal student loans and then consolidate my own loans to redesign a new repayment plan. When I found out about Student Services online I was in a really bad situation with my loans. I just lost my job so I couldn't afford payments and my servicer was asking me for payments over $300. They kept calling me and harassing me, but I honestly have no money to pay. When I saw there was income-based programs out there I contacted student services. A lovely gentleman helped me and told me that I can get into a program without using forbearance for zero dollars a month. It felt too good to be true but it was the last effort to get the harassment to stop. Three months later Sure enough I was in the zero dollar payment program. I came across this company and several others. All of them seem fishy to me and wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. I went through a couple of companies before i chose this one. My co worker who currently works with them recommended this company to me and right now only pays under $100 monthly and she has been unemployed at one point but student services is able to help out even when she was at her worst. I feel confident knowing that this company will help me at my worst as well. Thankfully its been going good at my new job and had to update my income documentation. I constantly receive notifications from the company but I like it since I'm always busy with school and work. This company has pretty good service reps even though I heard some people had bad experiences at times. I feel that this company deserves 5 stars but since customer service can be difficult at times, it deserves at least a solid 4 star. Student services has helped me out majorly !!!!! I owed $256,800 for my school loans and income is only 45k my payments to my lenders were $850 a month I was struggling to pay that cause it was just tooooo much almost my rent payment . The notifications from this company are kind of annoying but you can opt out. I just get frustrated when I want to call them back but can't because I'm too busy. The reps there are polite and well spoken. They are honest and eager to educate me on my Federal Student Loans. I also check with my lender regularly to make sure everything is in order. I had the worst experience dealing with my current lender and they wanted to charge me alot of money. I decided to do some research and figure out what I could do. I found out from this company all these student loan programs that were available to save me money. Good company, improving customer service. I talk to representatives all the time and they assure me that everything will be taken care of. So far so good, sometimes I'll have a hard time getting through to the representatives but not enough to change my mind about paying as low as 48.97.
