I have been to her just once (time to go again soon) and she gave me a perfect cut first time out. I had grown out my hair so I could donate it, and in that time the hairstylist I used to go to suddenly closed her business. You know when you really love your stylist and you don't think that anyone else will ever compare? That's where I was at. I searched Yelp to find someone close to me that knew how to cut hair for people with thick and wavy hair. I found Whitney and made an appointment. I sat down and explained that I wanted to chop off about 14 inches, and have a "wash and wear" hairstyle that was just above my shoulders. What she gave me far exceeded my expectations! She gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten in my life. Not only that, but she was full of energy and fun to be around. I just love Yelp! Without Yelp reviews, I would have not found the talented Whitney at Studio 17. It was just yesterday when I got a trim/haircut. When I arrived I wasn't sure if I was at the right place due the building name of Sola Salons. I vaguely remember Studio 17 without looking at my phone. Luckily there was a customer waiting outside a suite and I asked her how to find my stylist. She pointed out there's a directory at the entrance of the stylist name and location. Outside of each suite the business name/suite number is right above. Lo and be hold, Studio 17 was suite 17 and that's where I went. Whitney was still finishing up a client so I waited outside her suite. Shortly after, it was my turn for a trim/haircut. I honestly don't know what to call it these days. Is it a trim if it's less than a certain length? Who knows and all I know is that I need some hair cut. I explained to Whitney that I wanted about 1-1.5 inches off, thinning my hair as it's super thick and long layers in the back with some shorter layers near the face. After my hair was washed Whitney made my hair dreams come true. It turned out great and the weight from my hair just got lighter. She has tons of energy, very personable, fun and we had a instant connection which is what I look for in a stylist. I even asked her about her coloring my hair and the differences of coloring techniques while she was blow drying my hair. Whitney was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations/suggestions. On my way out, I booked a coloring appointment for a baylage in April. I'm already looking forward to it. I truly enjoyed my time with Whitney at Studio 17. She is pretty booked but if you need a new stylist I would highly recommend. Her business contact is in Yelp but you could also book the appointment via the Yelp messaging tool which is what I did. She was very responsive and that's a bonus for me. This was my first trip me in a very unique business setting where every suite is a hair stylist and all are self employed. That is so cool!!! Sola Salons is also next to the Lionheart Coffee Company and other businesses. There is ample parking so no need to worry about street parking. read more

Whitney Wilcox works wonders! I have been her loyal customer for about 5 years now, and she's the only person I'd trust to cut and style my perplexing, wavy on the bottom/straight on the top hair.
