I called and as soon as I hung up, someone texted me to book an appointment. I was arranged with Rosary, who was not only amazing at what she does, but also so kind, friendly, welcoming and felt like home. She did not only give me the haircut that I wanted and asked for but she also fixed the haircut that the other salon butchered. So grateful for her and her magic hands! The day I got a haircut was the weekend full of parties I had to attend to and it worked out perfectly because my hair was camera ready. I got the pictures back and I loved my hair so much. Got so many compliments about it. Lastly, this place is such a vibe. Extremely organized and clean. Everyone minds their own business but also very welcoming and friendly. I had to wait for someone to let me in. A Lashme Waxme sign should be on the door or in the lobby to direct costumers. The spa is on the 2nd floor and even that door leading to the elevator and stairs was locked, again i had to wait for someone to let me in. These someones were tenants maybe? Unfortunately, the experience at checkout completely changed how I felt leaving. When I booked over the phone, I specifically stated that I would be using a gift certificate. Nothing was disclosed at that time about an additional charge. After my massage, I was told I owed an extra $10 because of the age of my gift certificate. I questioned the charge, and ultimately I was not charged the additional $10, but only after I pushed back and questioned why I owed anything at all. The certificate was purchased in December 2024 and states "4x massages," not a dollar amount to be applied toward massages. Hands of Joy has also not increased its massage prices since the certificate was purchased. What concerned me even more was that after I questioned the charge, additional wording was handwritten onto my gift certificate that had not been there when it was originally purchased or given to me. I will be attaching a photo of the certificate for transparency. Terms added after a gift certificate has already been purchased are obviously not terms the purchaser could have agreed to at the time of purchase. I am away for school for months at a time, so naturally it can take me longer to use a multi-massage gift certificate. Being made to feel as though that was somehow an issue, especially over a gift that had already been paid for, took me from feeling completely relaxed to feeling frustrated and belittled. My biggest concern is for customers who may simply pay an unexpected charge without questioning it. California has specific protections surrounding purchased gift certificates, including restrictions on expiration dates and service fees. I would encourage anyone using an older gift certificate anywhere to understand its original terms and ask questions before paying an unexpected additional fee. Karen and the massage itself were wonderful, and I genuinely wish that had been the entirety of my experience. Unfortunately, the way the gift certificate was handled at checkout, and having wording added to it afterward, left a disappointing impression.

I went in for a wax and immediately noticed she was doing a very quick and sloppy job. She didn't ask me to pull my eye lid down and kept applying very hot wax to my eye area. She did pulled the wax very roughly and to top that off she grabbed a cotton pad and started aggressively whipping my brows. I thought maybe it would just be irradiated for a little bit and then be okay and payed even though I wasn't very content with the job. This is how it ended up looking a few hours later and the second picture is from just right now. It hurt so bad . I went back in today to get a refund and they tried sitting me down to apply aloe Vera which I had already done and I denied the service since I didn't want them touching my eyebrows again. Then the lady that did them ran her fingers through the scab very aggressively and I did let her know it was hurting. I'm not sure why she thought it was okay to touch me without my consent anyway. They did let me know that it would go away after 3-5 days and I did let them know that this shouldn't have happened in the first place. I am very irritated since I did have an event tomorrow and they just kept telling me to apply oils and try to cover it with makeup and it would eventually go away and I just had to keep reminding them how this shouldn't have happen to beginning with and if they can't do waxing that they shouldn't offer the service.
