I was referred to physical therapy by my doctor for severe TMJ and neck pain after removing dental braces. Cristina and Ani worked on me every time for full hour sessions. They did all kind of modalities and a lot of manual work. I felt such a great relief and I was lucky to be referred to this place. I returned few months later for knee pain. Meanwhile both Cristina and Ani got certified in cupping method and they've used it on me to treat my knee pain. I walked in limping from pain and after only two treatments I am now walking out with almost no pain at all. This place is extraordinary! Hello, I want to share a good news and express my gratitude to my physical therapist Christina Popesku who literally rescued me from a shoulder surgery. Due to a tear in my right shoulder I practically lost any ability to use my arm. In addition, there were nights and days of endless pain, and no pain relief medication could possibly help rid of it. As a result of the deteriorating tear my shoulders became asymmetrical, the rIght shoulder got much lower. I had been going to physiotherapy at various professional clinics, but my condition was getting worse. At last, my orthopedist referred me to Christina Popesku at Studio Brava, and said "If this doesn't help, then you will have to go through a surgery," which would have made my arm immobile for a long time, and that was not a good option. Besides, I was diagnosed with an acute arthritis in the areas of knees, heels and a hip. To make the story short, Doctor Christina was able to restore functionality of my shoulder and helped the pain to go away, and now I don't have any limitations in my arm mobility. As for my knee joints, there has been a positive progress achieved in comparison to just a few months ago when I could barely walk overcoming a constant acute pain. Now the pain in my knees is almost gone, and although I am still undergoing my treatment, i started walking slowly and on my own. Especially I want to tell about my first impression of my visits to Christina's office: The studio Brava is a wonderful bright clean space in a convenient location in Los Angeles. It's well aired and well equipped with all the required machines for a wholesome rehabilitation. Kristina is great ! She has great understanding of the body, has awesome hands, is flexible with insurance and payments and fun to be with. She is very hands-on for quick relief and also does cupping which I love. I went to her to treat postpartum neck, back pain and knee pain and it took some time but I see great difference. Although, I also did chiropractic and worked out as well in parallel. She did t get exercises done at her place which I really wish she would have but that's ok. This place is amazing! I've been to different physical therapists in the past for sports related injuries and non compare to the therapists who work at Studio Brava. The individual attention and treatment you receive here is deserving of 6 stars. Unlike a lot of other facilities who will spend 15 to 20 minutes working on you and then just hook you up to a machine, Christina and Ani spend the entire hour with you working on your concerns and making sure you're on the road to recovery. Ahh, such a relief! I had chronic neck, shoulder, and trapezius pain for six months. After seeing Studio Brava for physical therapy (and Dr. Brian Nishimoto for chiropractic) for five visits over five weeks, the pain has pretty much completely disappeared. Cristina treated me with a combination of massage, stretching, laser therapy, and kinesiotaping. I was very impressed with Cristina's dedication to her work; it was clear that her main priority was eliminating my pain. When I first went to Christina, I had pain in my right arm, and also my left shoulder and neck. She welcomed me very nicely. I was very impressed with the set up. The place was light filled, clean and modern. I was very skeptical at first since I had not seen good results from other therapists. I can't recommend Myami and Studio Brava highly enough. 10 STARS!!! For real. Like most people going to physical therapy, I was in a lot of pain and very frustrated. My lower back/hips were in so much pain that even sitting and lying down were uncomfortable. Then, I met Myami, who is an absolute ray of sunshine! She is gentle, skilled, caring, encouraging, and extremely knowledgeable as a physical therapist, and still she is always curious to learn more. She was able to diagnose my problem and give me an estimated time frame in which healing could happen. I always looked forward to going to see her. There were some good days and some bad days during that 8 week period, and no matter where I was at in the process of healing, she reassured me that we were going in the right direction. She had such a gentle way of releasing muscular tension, and in their homey office, I felt extremely comfortable and in good hands. And she was right about the time frame, too! 8 weeks later, I am 99% back to normal and so thrilled. Not only is my pain gone, but I am going back to my normal exercise routines with SO MUCH knowledge about alignment and form. I feel the experience of working with Myami made a huge impact on the way I will exercise and simply move for the rest of my life. I chose Studio Brava in desperation, because they accepted my insurance and because of proximity and the availability of an appointment. I made an appointment with Studio Brava in October of 2012 with the lead therapist and owner Cristina Popescu, I specifically went to Studio Brava for chronic neck pain that had been bothering me for 3 months, I had tried heating pads, massage and exercise to loosen my neck and shoulders, nothing had been working, I was miserable to the point that I could not think straight. Studio Bravo gave me a complete physical exam before determining my treatment; I had been to other physical therapists for the same problem with no change or success in alleviating my pain with my condition. Cristina Popescu of Studio Brava put me on a rigid physical therapy program twice a week that included pain management through exercise, laser therapy and electric stimulation of the neck and shoulder muscles with massage. After 16 visits my pain had completely disappeared, I continued the therapy through 24 visits and today I am pain free. Cristina was recommend to us by our family doctor. My husband was in tremendous physical pain from overworking his joints at work, by lifting hundreds of boxes of beer every. He would constantly complain about pain and that he was not able to close his fist, numbness in the joints and that the pain went all the way from his fingers to his elbows and shoulders.
