Candance considered everyone's input on what body parts to focus on working out for our session, gave helpful modification tips to each individual, and chose music that wasn't distracting. This Point Pilates location offers plenty of natural lighting and a very clean space. This was my favorite pilates class I've taken at any studio in SLC by far. I have some physical limitations and Candance was able to work with me. While staying safe, I felt challenged, and I learned that having a small class with an instructor who pays attention to each person is invaluable.

It's a super intimate setting with only four reformers, which I really appreciate because it means more attention and guidance from the instructor. She was helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and guided us thru the movements while still keeping the class challenging. There's parking in the front and streets. I had no issues finding one. I'll def be back for Tuesday Pilates and more of these intimate classes.

These are reformer classes and because they are small sized classes (4 reformers in the studio) each student gets ample attention from the instructor and is able to be corrected on form, ask questions, make modifications, etc. They also have cute pop-ups and collaborations with other small businesses. It is also in the cutest area (I love the Central 9th area) and has free parking. I recommend grabbing a breakfast sandwich next door at Central 9th Market if you're doing a morning class, or some food/drinks at Bar Nohm, The Pearl, Laziz, or Scion Cider if you're doing a night class. Enter through the double doors; take the stairs up; and then make a left. There are storage caddies when you enter the actual studio. They sell cute things near check-in area (clothes, stickers, cups, etc). There are different workout rooms, showers, restroom stalls and lockers. The place is clean and bright. Staffs are very welcoming during check-in; and helpful during the workouts. They even offer drinks and snacks after. Very nice and thoughtful!

We paid for a hotel room to be able to make the early morning flight, to be able to make the "mandatory orientation" in Salmon the night before the retreat. We paid for an additional "package" to cover all flights and hotels from Boise to Boise. After sitting in the Jet Port for 3 hours we were able to find out that the orientation is not mandatory for us. After reviewing all materials, it is clear there is conflicting information and lack of ability to talk to anyone in a timely manner. Can't comment on the actual rafting trip.

I joined this studio (mostly for Pilates) last week and have been to at least one class daily since…read morethen. The classes with Pilates reformer machines are $30, so if I go more than twice per week, I'm better off paying the $240/month membership fee. They have punch cards for other classes (15 for $225). Each instructor so far has been helpful. They know how to push our limits without causing pain. Two have given me their business cards for personal sessions or to get questions answered. Nice. Melissa and Kevin at the front desk are friendly. The women's bathroom has two toilets and two showers. Looks like their childcare center is fantastic. Parking usually isn't a problem. The main reason I waited so long to join was because I wanted afternoon classes--not morning or night--but I've been able to find enough classes for my schedule. After I downloaded their app and the MINDBODY app, I've been able to schedule and pay for classes online. Even at midnight. I needed to reschedule a class that had extra payment, so hopefully I won't get charged twice. I've been happy with this studio so far. It's ridiculously close to my home. I thinks it's ironic that it's next to a good hamburger/ice cream diner where my youngest daughter worked for several years. I wonder how many people work out then eat back all the calories they just burned. Ha. Or the other way around--people feel guilty for eating so much then they go to a fitness class. The other members seem to be from all different fitness levels, so it isn't awkward for this newbie who was out of shape.

Dying! But dying in a good way. Like, I can't wait to start seeing the results like, 'hello, miss new booty'. Pilates is damn expensive in general - like $25 -$30 for a drop in class expensive. But Core Body is so confident you'll like it that they give you your first week free, then a new student special of $99 for the first month of unlimited classes. The only reason I'm doing 4 starts instead of 5 is that, being new to reformer Pilates, I would appreciate a bit more instruction on how to use the machines and (eh hem) modify, because like I said earlier, it is effing difficult when you're just starting out.

It was my first time at this particular studio, but I have been to several other yoga studios in the past and while this one did have an upscale air to it, it also felt somewhat impersonal. The classes were packed with enthusiastic participants, but to the point where it made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the experience. The Kundalini class was super interesting and the instructor seemed knowledgeable. The gym is very clean and nice. I was just missing that cozy, intimate feeling that I've come to expect from really nice gyms/studios. We also got smoothies at the cafe upstairs and they were both excellent and the barista was super cute and accommodating!

The Vibe: Returning…read more Sometimes you return to a place... and realize you aren't returning at all. You're meeting the version of yourself that first learned how to breathe. Ritual has classes almost every hour. So I did what Ritual encourages: Show up. Carina welcomed me like an old friend. She opened my account. "You've practiced with us before." Suddenly... Chicago. The pandemic. Hundreds of classes. The place where breath first became movement. A home when the world didn't feel like one. I walked into class with gratitude. The Guide: Carina Cannon * Ritual Hot Yoga The room was exactly as I remembered. Warm. Dark. Candlelit. Every Ritual class begins the same way. A few quiet moments. A meditation. I chose Supported Fish Pose. A scented oil neck & shoulder massage. Then Carina offered our intention: Breathe in clarity. Breathe out self-doubt. She returned to those words throughout class. Then came the flow. If you've never practiced at Ritual, their sequencing is one of my favorite teaching systems. Core work first. Then a flow learned slowly. One side. Then the other. A little faster. Then both sides again... until you're moving almost entirely from memory while another Ritual yogi quietly keeps the rhythm from the front of the room. Everything happens to the beat of the music. Even the cueing. Breath in... cue. Breath out... cue. Over time, you learn one of yoga's greatest lessons: Breath leads. Movement follows. Many postures are taught in Levels 1 through 4. Each level builds on the last. Standing Head-to-Knee. Find your foundation. Lift. Extend. Fold. Bonus (maybe)... pistol squat. Because the room is so dark... You stop looking. Field Note: The quieter your senses become, the easier it is to hear yourself. Throughout class, Carina returned us to the idea of samadhi: returning, one breath at a time. The Tribe Looking around the room, I remembered. Showing up. Breathing together. Moving together. Space & Place It's one of the darkest studios I've practiced in. A place to listen to yourself. Everything else has already been thought of. Mat. Towels. Cold eucalyptus towel for savasana. All you have to do... Is show up. The Takeaway Years ago... I thought I was just exercising. Ritual was teaching me a way of being. I didn't know it then... but it was laying the foundation for everything that came after. Some places become chapters. Others become part of who you are. Field Note: You don't always know you're building a foundation until you come back to thank it. With deep gratitude.

The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home, and comfortable as a "second time" beginner. My first class was the "yin" with Carina, which included sound bowls at the end... a very moving experience. I've been going regularly since December and already feel a difference in my body. Unlike the older Bikram classes with the same 26 poses in sequence each time (and I did get value from that at the time), each Ritual instructor puts their own imprint on the class, which adds freshness to each one, while preserving the Ritual signature experience. I was extremely nervous as an older student returning to yoga after a long layoff, but the instructors could not have been more encouraging, inclusive and supportive. There's something here for everyone, regardless of level. I can't recommend it highly enough. Try it! Or... buy a ten-day pass for someone you love.
