They were my special treat growing up where they helped me through my different hair phases and for all of my special occasions. They're now my "treat myself" luxury as an adult and even after I moved, I kept driving about an hour and a half (one way, about 3 hours round trip) to get my hair done. They always made it right when things went wrong and I stuck by them, even when they remodeled and made my "relaxation time" public to the rest of the salon (nobody likes being placed in a lobby/"social room" with foils on their head to be gawked at. I recently decided that after a couple bad encounters with the salon that I'm done getting my hair done by them. Caught in traffic? They have a 15 min policy where they cancel your service, which kinda sucks when you drive over an hour and get stuck in traffic. The girl I've been seeing there for almost 3 years also left and I was never notified and they wouldn't tell me if she went to another salon. The cherry on top was when I requested to know the color they have on file for me and they refused to tell me. Evryone's time is valuable and I understand that they don't want competition, but my money and time is also valuable and I can't keep driving an hour and a half to get my hair done with the threat of having my appointment suddenly cancelled. I'm also loyal to the service rather than the provider, so being set up with someone else that doesn't know my hair or allergies is also a pain. I've already decided I'm not returning whether or not they give me my color, so for the health of my own hair it would have been nice to know what they were putting on me. So, I'll end with, it's up to you whether or not you visit this salon. I've had good and bad experiences and it's been totally dependent on who is providing the service to me. Understand that you can invest all the time and money in the world to them, but just like most businesses they still won't care.

I go in to my session yesterday and show her the same pictures I had sent Kat. The girl said in order to get the color i want we would need to lighten my hair and then tone it. So I said okay. About a quarter way through her lightening my hair I asked if it was a dye. She said it was bleach. I didn't know lightening hair was bleaching, but it makes sense and that's my fault for not clarifying. I figured she knew what she was doing so I continued on with it and didn't say anything. After like 4 hours we washed the bleach out and she put a toner in and my hair ended up being an orange/yellow. I was going for the complete opposite of that, like an ash brown kind of color. I couldn't even say anything about how much I didn't like it because I was there all day and just wanted to leave and didn't feel good about my hair. I go home. I look her up on Instagram and I find out she's an apprentice. I understand people need to practice and learn but I really wish whoever scheduled me would've been honest about the level she is on. The next morning I call back because I just can't walk around looking how I looked, especially since I am going to a wedding. I get it retoned by the same girl and yes it's better, but it still is not even close to what I was going for. Instead it's a little bit more closer to my original hair color just slightly darker. I feel like my hair is ruined from the bleach. It's so brittle. And I honestly feel like I could've done the exact same thing with a box dye from Walgreens and spent $15 rather than $245. I wish my hairstylist would have told me it would take multiple sessions to get to my color goal or just say she didn't know how to. Not giving 1 star because she at least was willing to try and fix it. And it's my own fault for not knowing she was going to bleach my hair. She was really sweet and I just feel bad that I didn't like it. I really wanted to.

I walked in and checked in on the tablet, making it very easy. I used the restroom and saw a coffee/cocktail bar that surprised me a bit. I did get a glass of water at the self-serve desk by the entrance. I sat in a comfortable chair and when my tech was ready, I was seated at her station. Great pedi and I liked Selma who wasn't pressured to make conversation. I'm good with quiet. She put me at a different seat to use the nail dryer. My toes look great. After the pedi and as I was being moved, I accidently knocked my water glass off the side of the chair. It broke and made a mess. They didn't yell at me. I felt bad, but someone quickly arrived with a broom and dustpan. At the check out desk, I was informed I got 25% off as it was my first visit. Yay! I used my giftcard and have $ leftover. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the comfort and design of the space. Its very chic and very customer friendly. The business provides free coffee / snacks / and even alcoholic beverages to customers. I tried the coffee during my appointment -- very good! I see Taelor (topknottae) and have been seeing her for several years at different salons. She does a great job and is just the sweetest human. Each stylist has the option to create their own hours. When i went in on a Monday there were only two stylists in so it felt like a very intimate appointment -- I hate when i go to a salon and it's poppin' and people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. If you care about product lines, this salon uses Kevin Murphy. From what I can tell its a high end brand that is exclusive to certain locations. Parking was a breeze. Navigation was a breeze.
