I have been going to this salon for years. Libby cuts my hair and does a fantastic blow out (which is even more amazing because I have ringlet curls). They use mostly Kerastase products. I have only had to wait 15 minutes max for my appointments with Libby, and she is great to talk to. She always remembers my name. The main reason I gave them three stars is the outrageous price tag! I was paying about $130 per visit and I don't even get color!!! It used to be my dirty little secret, but no more! I have also gotten my makeup done there occasionally. Being a guy with curly hair and lots of it, it's hard to find someplace that does a good job. I've gone through several locally-owned and chain-type salons in Dallas and have been using Lindsey at Studio One Ten for about a year. It's relatively no-frills (don't expect free booze, ego stroking, or anything else), but my haircuts are done professionally and look good. Prices seem on-par for the service I get; I could spend more to get more "features", but it's a haircut -- not a day at the spa -- so I could care less. read more

Candace Counts is the best colorist ever. Ever. And I've been coloring my hair since I was 14. She does super tiny, natural looking highlights, and she is lightning fast. I constantly receive compliments on my color. Suburban stripes? Not here. You're going to get professional locks that look natural born. Kristin and Josie are both great stylists. I started out going to Kristin, and then Josie did my hair a few times while Kristin was out on maternity leave. They BOTH do amazing work and are so much fun to talk to. Be prepared to shell out a bit of cash to come here, but know that it's worth the splurge. You get what you pay for! read more

Tori has a time-management problem and is a bit of a diva-- I've been to her several times because she gives a pretty good haircut. Thus, I have logged plenty of hours on the couch across from her station, waiting my turn even when I show up on the dot. She has an assistant, but there's still always a back-log of women in various states of wet hair, and half-blowed dried hair waiting for her. She doesn't even apologize, but just sort of waves you over to the couch where you could end up waiting a very long time. It's a little off-putting, too, that the whole time she's cutting your hair, she's looking at herself in the mirror! read more

Wonderful salon! Kirsty Echols is a masterful colorist with 20+ years of experience. She knows how to expertly choose shades that compliment your skin tone. Plus, she does highlights with foils or balayage depending on your hair goals. My hair is thick yet fine and she knows how to make the highlights pop while looking natural. Plus, she thinks about the integrity of your hair and how to keep it healthy. Very kind/calm person, too. Highly recommend. read more

This used to be my salon for two reasons: 1) convenience and 2) they sell Kerastase, my favorite hair brand. As much as I like the girl that used to cut my hair this salon ran on average an 1 to 1.5 hours late with appointments. The nuckleheads up front apparently did not know how to pick up the phone to let me know that my appointment would not be on time. So, after three times...and complaining every time, I quit. I find that it is a little difficult to explain a 2.5 hour lunch by saying that you got your hair shampooed and cut. read more

I went to Kirsty Echols and she totally screwed my hair up. I asked for bright blond hair that matched my ends. I needed a full head high light. She didn't foil my hair but painted It with this brassy box looking color. When she got done it wasn't as blonde as my ends and it was extremely blotchy. I told her she had to fix it. I was getting my hair done for my wedding day.... So she said she understood and was going to fix it. Well then she turned it a highlighter yellow and the back still looks like it did the first time. I'm so upset and I can't believe I paid her to ruin my hair. Now, I have to drive two hrs away to see a specialist who deals with this kind of stuff. SHE TOLD ME SHE WAS SORRY THAT SHE WAS IN A HURRY..... This is my wedding day here... I just wanna cry. So I have been to this place on and off for a few years. My current colorist, who now works elsewhere, is great, and I followed her when she left Studio One Ten. However, I was furious when I decided to get a haircut there right before Thanksgiving. I arrived for my noon appt. at noon. I did not even get my hair cut until an hour and a half later, watching while my hairstylist cut and blow-dried and gossiped and chatted with THREE other women. I stared in disbelief, thinking that she could not possibly be this backed up. On top of that (as if I need to say anything else), the receptionist sent me back to get my shampoo about fifteen minutes into my wait. I said no, that I had never been to this stylist (Tori) before, and that I wanted her to see my hair dry before she cut it. Hmmm, could Tori have not spared 3 minutes to talk to me about my hair? No, apparently not. I guess it was a good thing, because I would have been sitting around for over an hour with a wet head. Then, I don't even get any kind of introduction or apology while I wait - even though she was directly in my line of sight. Eventually, when Tori did get around to cutting my hair, she told me that "my wait would be worth it." Actually, it wasn't. She cut my fine, straight hair way too quickly (after all my waiting, I wanted a serious precision cut, not some impressive scissor-waving) - and my bangs ended up being shredded and my layers rather choppy. It's not worth it for the uppity attitude. It's not worth it for the poor customer service and ridiculously unacceptable wait. And it's certainly not worth it for the price. read more

I started seeing Tori and Kirsti back in their Jose' Eber days (almost 20 years ago) and have been with them ever since. Libbie does my blow out 3 days a week now and has for at least 10 years. You cannot find a salon in Dallas with more talented and fun people. You can't go wrong with anyone who works at Studio One Ten. Everyone there is beautiful, so they obviously know what they are doing. For years now, I have not gone one day of my life without someone complimenting my hair. Libbie is so punctual and could probably juggle 10 clients at a time and have them all come out looking fabulous. When Kirsti does my color, I don't even have to look to see what she is doing because I know it will be PERFECT every time. The opportunity to be in Tori's chair is such a treat---she always has a great story and she will make you feel like the most glamorous person on the planet. If you've got some extra time, get a massage from Machelle....she's the best! This salon has had a recent makeover by one of the top designers in Dallas and it is beautiful! Everything is always super clean and the glamorous decor will make you feel like one of the beautiful people! The location is great, with underground parking for those days when the weather is not so perfect. Kristi at the front desk can get you scheduled quickly and checked out fast when you are done. Sonja runs the shampoo area with precision so that everyone gets a great shampoo and is in their stylists chair in a flash. I've also tried out the new make up artist and she made me look 10 years younger for my class reunion.....try her airbrush foundation application..you'll be hooked. Here's the clincher...during a health crisis I had a few years ago, Libbie came to my home to tend to my hair, free of charge. Then as my super short hair grew out, she styled it for months and refused to charge me. I'm not saying she's going to do that for everyone, but that says a lot about the staff at Studio One Ten....it's about more than just the money. My husband and 2 kids are also Studio One Ten clients. You won't find a better hair salon!! read more

This goes in the books as the WORST experience at a salon ever. My color was too light so I asked to be toned down. They were very irritated at my request and told me to wait by the sinks while one opened up. I waited over 30 minutes while empty sinks were filled with other clients. When it was my turn the "shampoo girl" was the one doing my toner and after she finished rinsing me she said "ok you are done you can go" with wet sopping hair and toner on my face. I had to wait another 10 minutes to use a brush before I left. I spent over $300 for the absolute worst cut, color and service of my life. SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN PROVIDING A GOOD SERVICE ONLY IN TAKING YOUR MONEY AND SENDING YOU OUT THE DOOR!!! read more

I had my hair styled for a wedding and it fell apart 30 minutes after I left the salon. I left 3 messages for the owner and personally dropped by to discuss my frustration after spending $75. THe owner never returned any of my calls, not even after I dropped by. The owner does not appear to value her customers. It's a shame because I used the salon for 2 years. I can no longer give the owner my business nor my endorsement. read more

The main reason one has to wait for Tori is because she is so much in demand. Personally, I have never had to wait over 15 minutes. Tori got her training under Jose Eber when he had a salon in Dallas. A famous Hollywood wedding planner was flown down to Dallas for a wedding she was in charge of. Tori did hair and makeup for the bride and bridesmaids which impressed the wedding planner so much she asked if Tori wanted to work for her. I have gone to Tori for over 12 years and can attest to the fact that she cuts the hair of many well-known people in Dallas. The salon was even asked before if they would do a reality TV show which they turned down. Take a picture and she'll get it perfect. Another good stylist in the salon is Elaina. Best haircuts I ever had and the nicest people I've ever encountered in a salon. read more

First of all, Tori has a really great personality. She extremely charismatic and just an unbelievably nice person. She really does not seem like a "diva" to me, and I cannot imagine anyone not liking her. As for the wait, though I have experienced long waits in the past, I have not had to wait more than about 5 minutes in recent years. Her cuts are cute enough, though not exactly phenomenal. However, my biggest complaint concerns a Brazilian keratin treatment that really damaged my hair. Though I had been more than happy with a keratin treatment from Tori in the past, the second time left the upper front sections of my hair brittle and frizzy, as if they had been burned. When I called to complain, the receptionist told me Tori would call me back. I never received a call. I dropped the matter because Tori is so nice, and perhaps whatever happened was just a fluke. Unfortunately, my hair still has not recovered from the damage. read more
