Many ions ago, I used to work for Dino at his Galleria location when it first opened (no longer there). I moved away from Ohio and haven't lived here for over 30 years until five weeks ago. I desperately needed my hair done. I was terrified because I have a cut and color which isn't what one would call conservative. I'm very nit-picky to make matters worse. I called Dino and he recommended I go to Deena at this location. Long story short, not only did I like my color and cut, I LOVE it. So much that I returned five weeks later to have her cut and retouch my roots. Although my cut and color was on point, I have to say my satisfaction is due to how Deena went about achieving the results I wanted. She spent time not just speaking with me, but listening and asking questions to ensure she understood what I was looking for, my day to day lifestyle, and my interests as so to get to know me and give me the cut and color to coincide with it all. What I loved most was her honesty. I am a tad bit on the eccentric side, therefore opted for a color which is not the average blonde, brunette, etc., but rather blue and platinum. I am a 49 year old woman who works in the business world, therefore the color /cut combination to work well in a conservative business type setting without looking like an older woman trying to look 16 again. Deena successfully gave me what I wanted combined with a VERY sophisticated, chic cut which looks fantastic in a business suit, yet funky and hip when I go to an art opening, lunch with the girls, etc! Had a terrible experience at this facility. Didn't have a appointment, however passing by the front gave the indication that this would be an obstacle easily surmountable (walk ins welcome or something or other pasted in large font on the front door). Figured that's a nice indication of hospitality right? Nope. Ignored for 5 minutes while 3 people(?) staring busily at their screens with a whopping one person at the front of the queue. Yes, I suppose this elderly patron requires some attention, I mean, they may have been a customer for 35 years, therefore who am I to step in and interrupt all the pomp and circumstance surrounding them. Maybe theyre a member of the royal order? Or maybe this facility simply doesn't know how to handle two customers at once at the front desk. Scrolling through some of the other reviews, that may be our only feasible solution here. But, you're in a quandary...why does a slight cold shoulder on our first date give the 1 star? I came home to find an unshaved neck and a uneven sideburns. I go to haircut place because haircut place give haircuts. I don't give a rats buttocks about the minimalist design or the grecian marble. I was in town for a wedding and thought it'd be great to get a blowout. Nobody told me how humid it would be in Ohio this time of year so I think the blowout probably suffered a little but it lasted all night with just a few touch ups and a ton of hairspray. I've seen Teresa twice at Dino Palmieri and have been pretty pleased with her. I'm definitely not a girly girl, and my morning hair routine is to roll out of bed, brush my hair, and put it in a ponytail/bun. Related, I tend to wait FOREVER to get it cut, until the split ends are just too much to bear. Needless to say, my hair was not looking so hot when I went to Teresa for my first cut. She definitely knows her hair - I just wanted to cut off my ragged layers, but she convinced me to re-do them and to get them not quite as short. The resulting look was MUCH better and I was pretty happy with it. Months later, I decided to try to lighten my hair with Sun-In. Terrible idea. I thought it looked good at first, but once my roots starting showing I could see that it 1) looked bronze and 2) looked awful. I booked an appointment with Teresa to just dye my hair back to my natural color (my first dye ever!) Teresa did a pretty good job - my parents didn't even realize it was different. She's fun to talk to and gave me a good cut afterwards (it had "only" been six months since my last appointment with her!) My only complaint is that it was a bit hard to convince Teresa that I really did want my boring color back, and that more complex cuts were not the way to go. I completely understand that she is the expert, and I'm sure that was she was suggesting would have looked amazing - however, as someone who spends about 5 minutes on my hair in the morning, and specifically said that I didn't want to do any maintenance on my color, those looks are sadly not for me. But can I really complain about someone trying to make me look my best? Nope! The hours are pretty flexible here, although parking is terrible (I just walk from my apartment). Both times I've gone, the staff has asked if I wanted to buy product there, but never pushed it, which I appreciate. As a girl with naturally curly locks, I can not trust my hair in the hands of just anyone. I've been to several salons in the Cleveland area that left me patiently praying for hair growth. Luckily, Dino Palmieri is not one of them. I totally lucked out, really, because I can walk there. I have had several stylists there cut and color my hair and I have never left disappointed. They have a talented staff and the prices are reasonable. I can tell them I want a long, curly style and they get it right. Conversely, if I want a short, straight bob they get that right, as well - which is not an easy task when a person has been called "Frizz-ball" or variations thereof more times than one can recount! read more

I know this is primarily a salon, however I went for their nail service on my lunch break a few weeks ago. The stylist and salon aspect looked great but the nail service was terrible. Personally, painting my nails is one of my hobbies, so when I go to get my nails done, and pay $23 for it, I expect the best quality service. The nail trimming was weak, the hand massage lasted less than 5 minutes, although I'm glad it did because she was just wiggling my hand, and to top it off she got nail polish all over my skin and didn't remove it. Needless to say I could have done a way better job and unfortunately this experience has turned me away from ever paying to get my nails done again. read more

Went here for a quick brow wax on my lunch hour, left looking like a prize fighter with seriously swollen eyes and a lot of missing skin under my brows. Not happy at all, they knew they did this to me and still charged me . I also let the waxer know I had sensitive skin and to please turn down the heat. In pain and pissed! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Dino Palmieri with Marissa. I'm an out-of-towner and had to make a haircut happen during my short stay in Cleveland. The salon was easy to schedule an appointment a few days prior, and able to accommodate a Saturday morning session for me. I was assigned to Marissa, who was not only sweet and engaged in pleasant conversation, but she really listened to what I wanted, gave me exactly that, and even took extra time to make sure my hair would look wonderful for an evening activity I had planned. I felt so pretty thanks to her, and a few weeks later, my haircut still works for me. Of course, I can never make it look nearly as good as it did that day, but that's on me. Love the first review! I had been going to Dino's since I was 20, then moved to DC for three years! I bounced around from stylist to stylist, salon to salon and really never found "the one" while I was living there. Whenever I came home I tried to coordinate a hair appointment with Anthony. He has been doing my hair forever. Beside a personal connection (he hired me as a receptionist when I was still in college) he's hilarious, provides great conversation and has great vision and technique. I have never been disappointed with a cut or color. I'm now 32 and have been back in Cleveland for almost four years and my hair couldn't be happier. Overall I liked the highlights and lowlights in my hair I received. There were a few bleach spots that I feel should have been fixed as they were pretty noticeable. I wasn't offered a mirror at the salon to look closer at my hair when it was finished so I didn't notice it at the salon. I did notice it as soon as I got home and looked in the mirror and had to go back a week later to get it fixed. I also feel I was overcharged $50 for a blowout service I didn't ask for. I've been to many salons before and drying my hair has always been included in the price of whatever service I'm getting done. If I was informed it would cost me an additional $50 I would have kindly declined the additional service. To me this is just a bit of a shady way of doing business. When I went back to get the bleach spots fixed I was asked if I wanted my hair dried (again I think this is weird) but this time knowing better I said no and left with my hair wet. Most of the staff who work there are incredibly friendly. If you do decide to go here ask for Kelly, she did my retouch and she seems really awesome. But I think if I'm going to be charged $180.00 I'll probably try to find another place. read more

I was excited to get a same-day hair appointment for a hair cut given my random work schedule and my long hair needed work. I arrived with my stylist, Chris, finishing up on another client and we started ~ 15 min after my appointment time. As soon as I sat down and he asked what I wanted (simple layered cut), he said that he wouldn't have time to blow dry my hair and asked if it was ok to skip that part. When I hesitated, "he said how about I start and you finish the blow dry yourself?" I declined and said I would reschedule my appointment to which he pressured me to make an appointment there and then and said that the salon was only himself and the front desk receptionist. There was no assistant there that day to help blow dry - it was Monday. Also, he tried to make another excuse that the appointment was made for only 45 min instead of an hour for longer hair, to which he had given me 30 min. Perhaps guests should be asked their length of hair and adjust scheduling to accommodate for this. For a high-quality salon, wouldn't you want your clients to leave with an amazing blow dry? Don't the stylists finish the job from beginning to end? I can understand if an assistant washes my hair but blow-drying and styling is the final touch that should be completed by the artist who envisions the piece from the beginning. read more

Chris does such a great job on men's cuts and kids' cuts. He is engaging and friendly. I love how he finishes a men's cut with another rinse at the bowl. He is a consummate professional. Just beware: he has a tendency to cut hair too short even if you just want a trim. Yes you will pay more than average for a haircut with him but you can tell it is a great haircut a mile away. read more

I love my stylist Angie. She does a great job. That being said however, there have been a few problems. First she had to call off due to family stuff, which I completely understand. The stylist who filled in was not as good. She colored my hair one color on the roots and a COMPLETLY different color on the rest. I then received a free redo. I appreciated that they made it right. On my next appt. I was told that my stylist got a raise and would cost more today and from now on. Today tho, I went in to get my hair done and discovered that they had lost all of my information because they had switched computer systems. They had no appt. for me, even though I had set one up a couple days ago. I know that things happen, but they are so expensive that they shouldn't annoy me quite so often. I love Angie but I'll be going somewhere else after the holidays. read more

Great overall experience and service! I am extremely picky about my hair. I have long, very thick, color treated blonde hair that's tough to work with. Cassie at Studio Palmieri was amazing. I went to this salon last week and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Tamera was my stylist and she went above and beyond for me. I accidentally scheduled for the wrong kind of coloring service and mine would require more time than she had me scheduled for.... But she figured it out and gave me an amazing haircolor and cut. This salon has a tremendous problem with getting their schedule symtem correct. Twice they did not correctly place my appiontment into their system and twice I arrived with no appointment with my hairdresser. I was left with--"I'm sorry I guess this happened again." You pay a lot of money for less than satisfactory service. Nice people but can not get a correct scheduling system in place. Will never go to this salon again. read more
