Big thanks to TikTok for convincing me an at home hair gloss to get darker brown hair without going to the salon was a good DIY project (spoiler alert: it wasn't). My hair turned a scary shade of green and I was seriously considering a buzz cut. Enter Korin, my hair angel! It's impossible not to say anything but good things about Scott. I had the pleasure of visiting his new studio last week for a much needed cut and color. I knew I wanted to something new and fun and I knew that Scott was the one who was going to bring it to life. I walked out of that salon with the confidence of a super freaking model - the cut was so outside the box of what I would normally do (much shorter than I'd ever go) but it looked amazing. The cut, the color, the conversation was all top notch. He's such a chill person and I love hearing stories about his wife and kids... speaking of his wife, Tiffany is the beautiful lady who greets you as you walk in and you can clearly see why they make such a good pair. I visited Brooklyn on a whim out of town from LA and after coloring (and bleaching!) my own roots for oh, at least 10 months of quarantine and not having been touched by a pro since Jan. 2020, I decided it was high time I stop massacring my head. What better place than NYC to try out a new salon? I got an appointment with Scott (lucky bc he's apparently usually booked out weeks to months in advance I found out later), and he. is. a. master. He completely corrected my brassy blonde (hi, I'm a natural brunette with about 15% gray), gave me dimension and a tap root which I'd never heard of, and was graciously willing to write me a "recipe" to share with stylists back home in California to keep improving what he started. Not sure it can get better but I can't recommend this spot and Scott enough. I'll be making a plan to fly cross-country for another visit. read more

I have been dying my hair for YEARS. Over quarantine I hadn't done anything because I went to someone and left with burns on my scalp, so I was afraid of seeing someone new. Let me tell you, Scott is the exact opposite of that one experience, and I am so happy to have gotten my hair done by him. He's so incredibly talented, and is very easy to communicate with. Throughout the process, he always checks in making sure everything is looking the way you had envisioned it, and also tells you exactly what he's doing before he does it. I've been to salons all over Manhattan, the Village, and around town, and this is by far the best haircut and color I've ever had. Silvi gives an exceptional haircut and, most importantly, actually listens to what you want. I have never had a better colorist--my color is consistently beautiful and exactly right. While the salon attracts many young women with long hair, I have short hair and absolutely love both my cut and my color. I followed Amy here from another studio and would follow her to the ends of the earth to cut my hair. Amy really takes the time to get to know your hair and understand what kind of style suits you. She remembers all the quirks of your specific head of hair from visit to visit. So she gets better at knowing what works for you with each cut. Amy is easy to talk to, but not overly chatty if you just want to zone out for a bit. The studio itself is lovely, with plenty of light, greenery and good music. I hesitate to even write this review because I want to gatekeep, but DAMN is Sarah the best colorist and hair artist ever. I've been going to her for years, and she has masterfully turned me from brunette to blonde to auburn to blonde again to brunette again...what can't she do! The salon is clean, has a nice relaxing vibe, and I genuinely enjoy spending time in the chair hanging out with Sarah and the staff. Scott is amazing. I am generally meh on my haircuts... I have very long hair and it's pretty easy to just trim it. I've gone to Scott twice now for pretty significant style changes. He crushed it both times. Gave me the wash and go style I never thought I could have with my hair thickness and texture. He is really talented. I had a really wonderful experience with Scott. He did such a good job with my extensions. Not only did he place them really well, but I am almost 6 weeks in and they still feel secure in my head.
