Every time I go to studio six I leave feeling sooooo amazing. I see Shawna for her collagen treatment therapy. I've been doing it monthlyish for the past three or four months and I can absolutely see and feel a difference in my skin. Not only does the process feel incredible, she's so gentle and makes me feel so relaxed...massaging not only my face but also my hands and arms but I've seriously had people (many) make comments about how much better my face is looking. And I looked good before!! The treatment makes me look younger, as verified by several people who have known me for years and years. And it's natural, no Botox or fillers to get rid of the wrinkles that start by the time you're a 40 year old woman... Shawna also hooks me up with a great line of skin care goodies to help make it easy to care for my skin at home. It's a team effort! I loved this salon until last week. My hair dresser went to Tacoma and since I don't want to drive to Tacoma, I took her recommendation for another hair dresser and made the appointment. When the day came I went and they were locked up tight and it looked like some of the furniture was gone. I have learned since that they have sold out to Gene Juarez. I have been here for my kids hair cuts, my own hair cuts, and for facial services. Our experience is always a good one! The staff is super friendly, the complimentary coffee while waiting is so delightful, and I have never left feeling anything less than beautiful. Very professional and very clean! I have been using the spa for a long time now with very experienced massage therapist Nicole and has always been very cordial and helpful in deep tissue massage. I have chronic back issues and used chiropractic care in the past but no longer needed. I plan on continuing and enjoy the enviroment and highly recommend it for anyone who is considering it. Scheduling was difficult and that should have been enough to warn me off but I wanted somewhere close by. The job the "stylist"did on my hair was terrible and rushed. She had absolutely no skills. It looked like I did my hair myself and nothing like what I showed her I wanted but I needed to get to the event! Unfortunately I had a very bad experience at this salon. This was my first visit for hair. I had a partial foil, cut and keritan treatment. Unfortunately something went wrong with the foil. I think the stylist left the product on my hair too long and it was over processed. When I got done my hair was bleach blond (which is not what I requested) and my hair felt like straw and it was breaking all over. I was rushed out of the salon because the stylist had another client on my heals. When I got home I started calling the salon saying I think something is wrong. The stylist tried to tell me it was normal. No I don't think so. The next morning I called the manager and explained what was going on. She started by saying that she can get me back in in a 4 weeks. I said absolutely no way so they she squeezed me in that afternoon. When I came in no one could disagree that something went wrong. Even the stylist. The stylist was very nice and professional. She did all sorts of hydrating treatments and washed. It helped but did not solve the problem. I was told that my hair is permanently damaged now and to not wash it more than 2 times a week and be really careful. I was told I have to live with this for months and that nothing can be done for a while because of all the damage. Now I understand that mistakes happen from time to time and as I said before the stylist was very nice and really tried to fix it. She was really nice and professional. But the manager was a complete disaster. She was trying to put this on me. She was rude to me got physically agitated when I asked for a refund. I sent her an email later and said I would go to the owner if she did not refund my money. She called back the next day and said she would refund me my money but that I was not welcome back in the salon. No need to say that as I would have never gone back. But what a way to handle a bad situation. No thanks. I have never been treated like that before. I was very nice and tried to stay professional in a bad situation, the stylist did as well. But the manager was a mess. read more

I have to give this place some praise. I have had nothing but great service there. Everyone is always so kind and accommodating! Roni has been doing my eyelashes for a few months now and is amazing and so nice. I HIGHLY recommend her for eyelashes, waxes and facials. Now, my hair. I am so picky with who I let touch my hair because I have been scarred from past butcher jobs. I went over a year without a cut because I was so nervous to get it done by someone I don't know! With that being said, it happened to me again and I was devastated. I went in and saw Melanie and she was amazing. She listened to me and transformed my nightmare cut into the perfect haircut. I am so beyond thrilled with my hair now thanks to her. She listened to me and what I wanted and did everything she could to fix it. She truly is great at what she does! I'm new to Gig Harbor and this salon was recommended by a close friend. The first stylist that I was scheduled with (7/6 at 1 p.m.) passed me off to another stylist by the name of Mandy because she was cranky, overwhelmed or something. I got zero explanation from her other than she needs me to bring a picture in order to do my hair. I chalked it up to inexperience and maybe a bad day, but now I'm super grateful to her because Mandy was experienced, personable, and less expensive than the first stylist (based on her written quote) who fell apart on me. I was looking for someone with confidence who could resurrect my dated look and Mandy was phenomenal! Melanie was FANTASTIC! I am new to the area and after a terrible experience elsewhere (complete disaster where they fried my hair and did a sloppy cut!!) I came to see her before a big business trip and she fixed me right up! Props to Ms. Gabby I brought my (almost) 8 yr old daughter in for a hair dye and cut. This was a super special day for my daughter, as it was "unicorn" style dreamed of "forever". Melanie helped with hair for my wedding. Her work was fantastic. She was able to create the exact look that I wanted based off of only a few photos. She was very accommodating to small changes that I wanted and extremely polite! She worked with my four bridesmaids and two flower girls to create the exact looks that everyone wanted. Her technical skills are above reproach! Her attitude is absolutely amazing! I cannot praise her enough for being part of the team effort that saved my wedding... the makeup artist that I hired was awful and ended up storming out before doing her job. The worst place ever! Booked an appointment off Groupon. Went in for a Brazilian. Get into room and on table and they come in and say I have to pay an extra 20 dollars because they dont support their Groupon ad. I'm horrified as I'm half naked on a table and pay the extra money. Then I got the worst Brazillian ever. So not only do they not honor their Groupon they did a lousy job. I have asked repeatedly to be taken off their email list. 1 year later still getting emails and now you guys get a well earned 1 star review which is 1 more star than you deserve. read more

She had a complete restyle, cut and color by Coleena (my wife says I have to say it wasnt wasn't just a color but a "balayage" whatever that means!) Can honestly say I love her new hair! Consultation was brilliant. The lovely Coleena who, sensing my wife's slight apprehension and lack of decisiveness talked her through every stage of color and cut and did exactly what she said she would. I made an appointment for a trim and color way back in the middle of the stay at home order, knowing that it would be difficult to get a spot. My stylist, Melanie passed me off to a so called color expert.. Lauri. I had multiple text and phone exchanges with both stylists to confirm my color and I sent pics to show them my waist length hair. (It's so long that it usually takes two back to back appointment spots to get it done) I was booked for an appointment from 9am-2pm. I took the day away from my business and changed my schedule around to accommodate this appointment. I was so excited! Unfortunately, when I arrived Lauri had no idea what I was there for. Looking confused she went off to "get the color ready." I sat there for an hour only to be told she didn't have the color. Here's the kicker.. she offered to dye it a different color instead! Omg, I was shocked. I walked out. I'll go pay hundreds of dollars somewhere else. Beyond disappointing. read more

Terrible experience. Stylist didn't listen. Did a really messy job putting color on and created a huge stain around my face,temples and the back of my neck. When i asked her to stop and protect my skin she just kept going. She scrubbed my hairline with witch hazel and alcohol to remove the color stain. It only partially worked. Will never go back. I went to Studio Six for a wax after buying a groupon. The atmosphere and staff there were very professional, but the wax was terrible. I have had brazilians before and they were nowhere near as painful as this experience. My past experiences with brazilian waxing has been a 15 minute experience that was no doubt painful (you are ripping out all your hair in a sensitive place) but have been quick and after the rip the pain dissipates. My experience at studio six was 45 minutes of horrible pain. The woman doing my wax kept waxing over the same spots and rather than using hard wax down the middle, she used strips the whole time, causing much more pain. When it was all over and done, I had quite a few patches of hair left that she could not get, as well as patches that she just did not wax as well. Overall, I would not go back and would not recommend it to anyone else. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience here! I was on time for my appointment and sat in the waiting area for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my existence. I was told it would be a "few minutes" while she finished with another customer. That turned into 45 minutes. Then she asked me if I had brought any pictures of what I wanted done and seemed surprised that I had not. A professional knows how to choose color based on my existing hair color/highlights and a discussion of what I want. I was unimpressed and now concerned that this person didn't know what they were doing, so I left before things could get any worse.
