Check-in time is 15 minutes beforehand in order to choose scents and fill out paperwork. We chose the 60 minute Alderbrook Signature Massage for $170 (Sat-Sun pricing): harmonize body and soul with a hot stone massage treatment customized with a choice of scented oil. Designed to release tight muscles and relieve tension. After checking in, we were walked to a changing room where we were provided lush robes and spa shoes. Nudity is optional. During the massage, one is covered the entire time. The masseuse doesn't see ones' nakedness. Being naked removes all obstacles while enjoying the massage treatment. Once changed into spa wear, there is a relaxation room to sit in and read magazines, drink tea etc. until your masseuse calls for you. After being introduced to your masseuse, they will ask you a few questions such as pressure points and heat (stones) to get a better understanding of ones needs and expectations. The rooms are dimly lit and ambient dream music plays at a low volume. Once the massage starts, the talking stops. After the massage is completed, one is encouraged to take a few moments to themselves before exiting the room. Upon exit, one is greeted with a glass of cucumber lemon infused water and ushered back to the relaxation room to enjoy for as long as one likes. Back in the changing room, one can fully shower if desired. All amenities are provided: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, razors, tampons etc. Payment is collected after massage completion where gratuity can be added. I didn't recall the name, but I didn't have time to look it up (my original calendar reminder did show for Ali). The esthetician came in already prepped for and talking about sugaring. I mentioned that I booked for a wax. Didn't appear there was any effort going to be made to wax. She went on to explain why it's better and some of the advantages, but I had already done that research and thus booked wax. At this point I didn't have time to deal with this or reschedule as I had a trip the next day and still a lot to do. Sugar took way longer, cost more, and for me personally was not as pleasant an overall experience from waxing as they have to go over smaller patches. To each his own. The appointment time they set aside here for the one service is 1 hour. This location did not have quite the aesthetic I was hoping for. They are currently doing some construction on the other side so I'm not sure what it was like prior, but not the overall experience I was looking for. I've booked my follow up for Queen Bee in CA since I'll be out there (15-20 min service, cute place, $25 cheaper, and surprisingly pretty painless due to the wax they use). Parking: small spaces available in the garage below the building or street parking nearby.

I had booked 4 services for a girls weekend and then 3 hours before my service (1 of the 4) was cancelled because the staff member called out, which I understand but then they offered me a different service (at full price I might add) which I polietly declined. They did not offer the day spa/pool for free to me so I could at least be with the rest of my party before and after their appointments. Then to top it off I got the reminder text that the people in my party had to check in, but when they got there, their treatments were all cancelled!!! Luckily they were able to get their treatments since no one else walked in or same day scheduled. Loved also hearing that the staff made comments to my party about how lucky they were to get a walk in appointment. What a mess and disappointment after this trip was scheduled months in advance. This was the second year we have planned this trip and I can say for certainty next year I will not be booking here. Beautiful spa, but when people are driving all the way there, and planned their trip around the services this spa offers, they could try to accommodate them a little better if the spa has to cancel an appointment same day.
