I love B Haven. Like the others say -- it spoils you! I was first going to someone that was recommended in Glamour Magazine, and not only were my haircuts mediocre, but the gentleman who cut it called me nonstop to confirm appointments and reschedule mine. Eager for a change and someone who cannot only cut my hair, but is actually personable and normal, I came to B Haven through word of mouth, and Boy! I cannot be happier that I did! There are two main stylists, Heather and Kristin, and they are amazing. They are both so talented, charming, and very personable, not to mention do wonders on your hair!! I've gone to both of them, and usually go to Kristin just out of habit now, and I can't go anywhere else. I now live in LA and refuse to even consider another salon, so I make the 2-hour drive south just to give Kristin a visit. They both do exactly what you want. I am very fussy about my hair and do not like surprises. I ask for 2 inches off or "natural looking" highlights, and I get nothing less (or in this case, nothing more! Thank God.). My one friend who goes there likes very drastic cuts and very exciting highlights/dye-jobs, and she always comes out looking just fantastic (I'd do so with mine if I was more daring). They also do men's cuts and fades as well. Honestly, I cannot recommend this salon enough. It's hidden (doesn't face the main highway) and a small boutique salon, which keeps your hair experience very intimate and personable. Furthermore, they use high-end quality products to-and-through and really take great care of your hair. I LOVE THIS SALON. Sometimes those over-priced and over-advertised salon get lost in the business aspect and end up doing half-assed jobs on your hair. I won't go back. Ever. This place was sick. Really cool. There are two chicks that work there, they're just normal cool girls that know how to do hair, and do it well. It's has a small, intimate like upper-class "boutiquey" feel but personable like a barber shop almost... It's a shame I didn't find these girls sooner. Parking's in a lot right behind coast highway, so you don't have to worry about street parking, and the salon opens up to the lot, not facing the street. I very clearly showed her what I wanted to attempt and got something drastically different. Please know you may not accomplish your desired look here and you will pay a tremendous amount ($400 or more) possibly with a result needing extensive and even more expensive corrective color work. Laura was initially friendly but when I alerted her my hair was not what we discussed, she was very unkind and extremely disrespectful. Please be careful.
