Studio X in Irvine is a great and friendly studio! Every time I've walked in to check-in for class, the staff has been welcoming and kind, which really makes a difference in your overall experience. If it's your first time doing reformer Pilates or using a reformer machine, I highly recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early so the instructor can walk you through the machine and how everything works. It makes you feel so much more comfortable going into class. I've come here through ClassPass and have had a good experience. The instructors are knowledgeable, and I really appreciate that they ask before class how you're feeling physically and whether you have any injuries or limitations. That level of attentiveness shows they genuinely care about their clients. The studio is located in Sky Park, and I'd suggest getting there a bit early because parking can sometimes get packed. The space itself is very clean, and I love that they provide wipes after your session so you can wipe down your equipment. Overall, a solid studio with friendly instructors and a welcoming environment. read more

I took my first pilates class here through ClassPass after pausing for a year and I'm so glad I decided to take it with Mel! She was so lovely and inviting when I came in, and throughout the workout, I didn't feel left behind at all. She was very encouraging and I was really appreciative that she would come over to correct my form. If you are a beginner, I would recommend to come in 10 minutes early because there is a form you have to sign as well as maybe needing the instructor to walk you through the reformer. The studio was really clean and I appreciate Mel for taking the time to talk to everyone before and after the class! I've been here a couple times and I really like the instructors and the classes. It's a little more intense than I'm used to but I appreciate that the instructors always provide modifications and never push you too hard. The studio itself is a little tucked away in the business park next to the airport but there's plenty of parking and it wasn't challenging to find the entrance. If you're new to Pilates, this would be a great place to start your journey; if you're a pro, it's a great place to grow and challenge yourself. read more

Absolutely LOVEEE this Pilates studio. I can't say enough good things about it. All the instructors are fantastic, and I love the wide variety of classes they offer; my favorites are Power Sculpt, Full Body X Burn, and Ass Class. Their schedule is super flexible, with early morning, afternoon, and evening classes to fit any routine. Make sure to bring grip socks, and there's a convenient water refill station too. Their page says 15 minute grace period, my class reservation was for 8am and I pulled up and walked up to the door at 14 minutes after as the 2 girls were standing at the door blocking it staring at their watch and not responding to me until the time changed to exactly 15 minutes after and said unfortunately the grace period is over. I asked if I could still attend since it's still in the 15 minutes and another girl walked up same time asking the same and they said no, quickly asked our names and shut the door in our faces which is rude and wrong since we were within the grace period and so long so that I even had time to screenshot my location at my car which shows I was stillllll here at 15 minutes after and should've been allowed in. I will not be returning ever and highly recommend others avoid it too! read more

I really enjoyed my first class at Studio X with Sara. I took the A$$ X ABS 45 minute class and it was both challenging and enjoyable. The greeting staff was very kind right away and the location is well-maintained. I did not feel any pressure to commit during my visit which I really appreciate. It makes all the difference in building an opinion and trust. I also love the neon pink lights that outline the studio's mirror walls! So cute. Sara was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. My first pilates experience was here and I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm very thankful towards my instructor, Judy Cantre. I especially enjoyed her ARMS x ABS classes. There were exercise where we moved the bar to the middle of the machine and did pull up like excercies. She is great with newcomers as well. I brought my whole family along, and she was very accommodating to beginners and guided us through everything. Cannot recommend enough. read more

I tried out this studio for three months, after I purchased the three month contract option. This studio sent me a pdf with the class terms & not anywhere on their did it say anything about requiring a 30 day notice to cancel. After having completed my three month contract I did not want to continue. So, I removed my card information from their studio x app. I still got charged on the fourth month even though I removed my card. Of course, I immediately requested a refund which they denied because I didn't give them a 30 day written notice. They never tell you they require this written notice and will just continue to charge your card on file even after being deleted from the app. This was the only thing they mention on their terms. Nothing about a written cancellation policy. "If you wish to cancel your auto pay membership after the 3 month term it must be before the next auto renew date. If the cancellation occurs after the auto renew date the cancellation will not go into effect until the end of the billing cycle." read more

Studio X is my favorite Pilates studio to go to. It's always really clean and the equipment isn't outdated like most places. The instructors are really nice and all of them have asked me and other people in the class how we are feeling on the day of the class and if there's any injuries or restrictions we have. Long story short: Studio X's "Customer Service Squad" is severely lacking in said customer service. When I copied the owner onto an email thread on 10/16/24 "to bring to her attention the multiple delays in response times in the past 14 days since my initial email was sent" and to "please freeze my account for the month of November," I was met with silence. To further solidify my point, my card was charged on 11/1. As of today, 11/4/24, I have not heard back from the owner nor anyone in customer service. Long story long: To clarify, I initially emailed on 10/3, so it was a 13-day ordeal between my first email and last (instead of 14 as quoted in my email above). I heard back on 10/5 and replied the same day. I then followed up 5 DAYS LATER, on 10/10, because I had not yet heard back. I got a response and replied again on 10/10. I waited 6 ADDITIONAL DAYS for the company's next reply. I could not be more clear on what I was asking and, yet, reading comprehension was lacking so we were going in circles. I replied the same day as their last incoming correspondence, on 10/16, which is where this story ends. As mentioned above, my last email was NOT ACKNOWLEDGED and, clearly, my request to have my account frozen for this month was IGNORED. (To be clear: I am not shouting with the caps, but simply highlighting key details to make this review easier to read.) As an aside, I found it strange but noteworthy that their previous communication replies were signed off by an individual but the last email was simply signed "Studio X Customer Service Squad" All in all, I wholeheartedly stand by my conclusion in my email sent to the studio owner and Customer Service Squad on 10/16: "Lastly, it should go without saying that the fact this took two whole weeks to "resolve" is a bit outrageous as far as timeliness in business practices go. I hope, for all clients present and future, the Squad is more responsive and communicates within acceptable timeframes." 11/5/24- response to studio owner's reply Amanda Jane- Thanks for your reply. For reference, the email account I added to the thread on 10/16 was pulled directly from your instagram profile, so hopefully it's more closely monitored so that future communications aren't sitting unanswered. This, however, does not address the fact that my email was also completely overlooked by the Customer Service Squad. I filed a dispute with my financial institution as soon as the unauthorized charge was posted- accompanied by screenshots of email communication clearly stating to freeze my account- so I am confident I would have received the funds back regardless of the refund that was processed. Nonetheless, thank you for doing that within hours of my initial review posting. As for the "multiple concessions" made for me outside of general company policy, I am not sure what you are referring to. I searched through ALL of my previous communications and saw that ONE such concession was offered since I started attending classes in November 2023. The last week of March, I canceled a regularly attended Friday class because I was notified that there would be a sub. I immediately joined the waitlist for another Friday class and, with the studio closed for Easter that Sunday, I asked if my one remaining class for the month could "roll over" to April if I did not get off the waitlist. Monique replied, "This one time, due to the holiday and sub inconvenience, I can extend the class to April 2nd..." Luckily, I got off the waitlist and did NOT need the extension. As far as concessions go, that was it. No other concessions have been made to accommodate me. While I understand that the company is prohibited from discussing memberships of other clients, I simply stated that I had screenshots of emails and records from the financial institution provided by my friend. I, too, would appreciate further dialogue as this incident is not the first time I have waited over a week for an email reply. The ball's in your court! read more

These people deleted my review, but I want all women to know my honest review and opinion as I do not believe this is a good place for women to feel strong and/or empowered. Think of the pinnacle of wealth and aesthetics in Orange County, and the false disguise of it all. Think of the women who live in these places and think of their not so nice attitude towards other women regarding judgment and general unfriendliness: that's what this studio embodies. Very much so giving "we are all in a who's the hottest" competition. In a way that feels very scary, disingenuous, and overall uncomfortable. It doesn't feel like a place for a girls girl. The owner's social media presence is very indicative of this as well. It's a place where instructors and attendees alike exude and energy of condescending judgment disguised with a happy go lucky "get fit be hot" sentiment. I did not like the class, I did not like the pace, I found the energy and attitude of the instructor to be very un-welcoming and inauthentic, and all of these things are not things that should be present in a work out/athletic class setting. I mean seriously? A woman owned business? Marketed and used primarily by and for women? It's just disappointing and doesn't feel like a supportive space for self improvement and physical strength in the slightest. read more
