What a gem of a find in these suburbs of San Carlos. Spectacular park, playground, hike, walk, picnic, toilets, views, shade and off-leash dog walk. The dirt walk/hike kicked my butt! Steep grades going up and down. There are also side trails that smart hikers used walking sticks. Most of it is shaded making it a comfortable Trek. Street parking.

Checking out this new trail hee.

This was our first time visiting the trail and it was pretty easy loop around. So we decided to walk farther and do a whole figure 8 upper 260 foot hillside. Then we did 1.6 miles with our a Air old huskies. The trail was shaded for the majority of the hike, and it was around 1:30 PM when we started. One of the lower trails was washed out, probably by the crazy storms in January, but once we walked up the hill, there was a little another trail. I use the app Strava to find where all the trails are at. some people did not have their dogs on leashes, but since we have curious huskies, that would run away from us, our dogs are always on leash. I really liked the trail and it's simplicity as well as the shade! We will be back again!!

We came here for a birthday party. Did not get a chance to check out the trail, but the small water park and the play structures are pretty cool for the children. The slides are long and well-maintained. You can make reservations for the picnic tables for birthdays and other events. There is a laundry-list of rules to follow, such as needing to rip off the tape after the event is over. I don't know why but someone manually broken up holes into each trash can, so you can dispose trash without touching the trash can itself. There was also some broken beer glass in the barkdust near the climbing platform. For children, I would have parents be wary of bees and ants. Definitely some room for improved child safety, as well as maintenance.

Stulsaft is a great place to bring your dog! There is multiple trails and poop bag/waste stations throughout the park. The entrance from Farm Hill Blvd (next to Stulsaft playground) and Silver Hill Rd are open 24/7. The lower entrance at Recreational Way and Goodwin Ave is gated and has seasonal hours. Usually you can wait for someone leaving the park to enter if you come after hours since the gate is locked. There is plenty of parallel street parking available. There are two restrooms located in the park. One is by the playground and the other is on the off-leash trail. All the walking trails meet back with one another. We love taking a different path each time. You'll see goats from a neighboring farm and beautiful view of Redwood City from the upper trails. There will be signs showing on leash and off leash areas. The park is fairly clean. Most people pick up after their dogs. It's also great for families with the playground and grass athletic field. Usually it's busier in the afternoon or on a nice sunny day. Bring good walking shoes. There is a good amount of loose gravel.

We love this park. Beautiful nature preserves, well-maintained trails, gorgeous views. We keep our dog on leash in the leash areas but let him go off-leash where permitted and he always has the best time. There are great finds for the eagle eyed (the Christmas tree, the carved benches, the sign that mistakenly has lynches instead of lichens) I admit I'm surprised by concerns about dogs - we didn't find any stray piles of poo, didn't have any dogs approach us or our pup without permission and although we say some dogs off-leash where they shouldn't be but we saw way more people flaunting the mask requirements

Smackdab in the middle of a residential neighborhood is Stulsaft Park. I've driven Farmhill road a lot and lived in Redwood City but never realized this park was here! Scenic views of of The Valley on sunny days, shady tree-lined nature trails that follow a babbling creek, switchback trails up the elevation, picnic tables, dog friendly off leash area and even a creek swing (!) are just some of the features of this hidden gem. Just remember to bring a towel for muddy paws by the creek. Also note that pups need to stay on leash on the trail from the Farmhill Road side (past the trail which butts up to the houses). Pups can go off leash by the creek and the trail beyond that. There is also a small cultivation patch where locals are growing indigenous plants (oak trees, local mint variety, posies, etc.). If the community farmers are there, strike up a conversation with them and find out the latest on what's being grown!

This is a very nice "park" I would not call it a "dog park" though because it has more than that. When you first get there (where directions take you) you pull up to a kids play area with some extra benches (I think they probably rent out for parties) you walk along a pretty steep downhill path, nice nature walk and you will come to a path that splits up to an open field. They have signs posted this is NOT for dogs to run around just an open field for people. You counting down kinda to the left and you will keep going downhill and go over a small stream bridge. From there you will be able to allow your dogs "off leash" to run around. This IS NOT a fenced in area, just a place they allow dogs to be off leash. We went off to the left past the public bathrooms and you come to a picnic area (another place to rent out and they have outdoor BBQs) you can choose to cross the steam (we didn't it was very muddy and I was not wearing proper shoes.) we continued the walk uphill over a Bridge like structure and a little ways down. Overall it is a pretty walk and area to spend time in nature just not what I would consider a "dog park."

shorter, but steeper hike down to the small creek below...entering through the temporarily closed playground area...appears like children's summer play camps occurs here...passing a electric fence with sheep behind...seen goats used to clear land, but sheep?...guess both are used in the area to clear land to prevent fires...down the wide trails...wide enough for trucks...across a wide concrete bridge and down to the trickling creek...shady from the many trees...couple loops all coming across to the center creek below...

Off leash!!! These rude dog-less people told me to put my dog on a leash!!! Get out of here!!!

These a-holes just told me to put my dog on the leash and that it's the rules. Apparently their, old tired eyes don't know how to read anymore. They didn't even have dogs. It's always the ones who don't have dogs here that have the most to say. My dog didn't get on well with ONE particular dog and based on that less than one minute interaction they assumed my dog is aggressive and needs to be tied up. My dog has good voice command and we left the area with no problem. As we were leaving he had the nerve to tell me what I said above. We come here often and my dog doesn't have issues getting along with other dogs. Stay in your lane, Karen's and Kens, especially if YOU are in a leash free dog area with NO DOG. Some people need muzzles more than a dog. Go trip on some rocks!

Great playground with water play turned on during the afternoons in the summer. There's also trails for exploring with some providing shade. Bonus to see lots of dogs running around off leash.

    Great city dog park

Nice wooded area where dogs can be off leash. Unfortunately the loop is very short. It's really shaded, nice nature vibes.

Absolutely love this off leash park for letting the pups run free. Even on a weekend, it's not too busy.

Poorly maintained treacherous trails. Place is mostly ignored by the city. Doesn't feel safe.

The entire park is fenced and includes a big grassy field, lots of picnic tables (you can reserve them for fun birthday parties!), a clean-ish bathroom, and lots of playground spaces. There's also a small water play area in the middle with cute frog statues that spit out water during the hotter parts of the year.
