We have been to this local park a few times and have always had a great time with our little ones…read more They have a spacious grass area along with two different playgrounds focused on different ages/needs. The smaller playground for toddlers has a climbing structure, seesaw, swings, and some pretend play structures. The older childrens playground has alot for big kids to stay busy and playing: slides, climbing structure, monkey bars, sliding zipline, and swings. They even have a water play area that is active during the warmer months of the year. Their restroom area is clean and the picnic areas around are well kept with adequate waste receptacles. There is plenty of parking around the park as well. Overall, this is a great park to enjoy with your family, especially when the weather is nice and warm!

We came here around 10am on a Saturday and had no trouble parking. There's a map at the entrance, and we decide to start with the Old Stage Road, which is paved. It's almost all uphill for about 3/4 miles, and then the rest is pretty flat with great views. There are lots of different trails to take, and there are markers to keep you on track. We did about a 3-ish mile loop. As we approached a herd of deer, we remained very quiet and kept our distance, and they just continued grazing. There are interpretive signs along the trail, which we used as a scavenger hunt list. I don't think we would have noticed the turkey tail mushrooms if it weren't for the signs. We look forward to returning in Spring to catch even more wildflowers.

There's a parking lot with good amount of spots. I think when I was there about 9am, there was about 3 cars. More people came later when we were leaving. There's a playground that's gated/fenced in so that's good for the families who has little kids. There's a cute little pond with lots of pretty flowers surrounding it. There's also some benches and picnic tables. There are also some grassy areas. We saw lots of cute other cute doggies here. It's a very dog friendly park. Someone didn't pick up their doggie's doo doo. Shame shame shame. Make sure be respectful and pick up after your doggies! We need to keep this beautiful little park clean. This spot will be added to my list of fave places to bring a doggie for a outing! :D

However, I have noticed some safety and maintenance issues lately that hold it back from being a perfect 5-star experience. My main concern is safety regarding motorized vehicles. I frequently see local teens and kids--sometimes even elementary-aged children accompanied by their parents--riding gas-powered mini bikes or loud electric dirt bikes directly on the sports fields and paved walking paths. It is unclear whether there are explicit rules prohibiting these vehicles in the park, but no one is around to monitor the situation, and it honestly feels dangerous for pedestrians, field users, and anyone on the paved paths. Additionally, while the park is well-maintained overall, certain small details need closer attention. Specifically, some of the water fountains are poorly adjusted--either barely trickling or spraying water in every direction. It's a fantastic park overall, but better patrolling, clearer safety regulations, and quicker equipment maintenance are definitely needed to keep everyone safe. 4 out of 5 stars.

My only complaint would be not every dog that goes is friendly. It's kind of one of those things if you know your dog is not friendly then please do not bring them to an "off leash" area. The whole point is to let dogs be dogs and play and have fun, we don't need aggressive dogs with rude owners on the trails. Prepare to hike!

My dog always makes friends here and has a blast running through the water. We tend to do two loops of the off leash area which works out great. You have room for your small and large friends alike, including parents, which makes my achy back and knees so happy. 3. You're well-maintained with plenty of parking, manicured landscaping, and all park equipment in good working condition. 4. You're fully fenced in so I don't need to worry about my child running into traffic or straying too far. 5. You're close to coffee and food shops. 6. You're great for birthday parties, with tons of space and tables! Whether you're a parent of a human child or a dog child, this park is fantastic. Fenced in playground, large open grass area, and plenty of shade. Wonderful little gem that we're lucky to have in the area!

Wear shoes you definitely do not mind being covered in dirt. Maybe a three minute walk. There were people picnicking quietly for an afternoon date on the lawn with a blanket, that's a great idea. There is a large grass area for many families to enjoy together. Seeing it in person was really nice. Brought some teenage girls here who really enjoyed it. We enjoyed taking some pictures together. I definitely see why this area is used as a professional photography spot!! Will I come here again: if in the area and cooler weather absolutely for a gorgeous family style picnic!!

There's not a lot to explore and my visit was made particularly less enjoyable by how crowded it was. There were at least three people doing elaborate professional photo shoots and dozens of what I can only describe as full-on Instagram productions happening around the area. It was noisy and there wasn't much room to move around and it really took away from what I imagine is a normally peaceful experience. I was here on a weekday afternoon as well so I'm not sure when a slower time might be to visit. I feel like I should preface this review with the fact that I stopped here immediately after spending the morning and early afternoon at Filoli, so in comparison it probably isn't helping me have a hugely favorable opinion of my experience here. There are also signs advising that no dogs are allowed, which I think is pretty ridiculous. This is definitely worth a quick stop if you're in the area, especially because parking is free and there's no admission fee. However, unless you are one of the people who are spread out on a blanket or carrying boxes of props for a full-on production, this is definitely not a place that you would spend very much time. For me it was an interesting, very quick, one time stop.
