Have been a patient for many years and not once in all this time (20 years) have I been seen at my…read morescheduled time. Always a wait of minimum 45 minutes-hour. On one occasion this year I sat in the office waiting to be seen and was actually having a heart attack. The nurse (also happens to be the receptionist and doctor's wife) did not notice my obvious symptoms until she hooked me up to the EKG monitor. She was so busy answering phones, making faxes, waiting on other patients, etc that she didn't notice I was in distress and I could have coded as a result. They seriously need help at this office, at least someone to answer the phones. When I mentioned this the nurse tried to blame me, redirect me, etc and would not take responsibility for her inactions. She has an annoying habit of making sarcastic comments and literally blaming the patient for her shortcomings and sub standard medical care. On certain occasions I have been misdiagnosed and not prescribed appropriate medication. Getting refills or any type of referral is very difficult due to the nurse being too busy. Recently needed VNA services and they simply ignored my request. I had a broken leg and couldn't walk and needed transportation to Boston, Tufts Medical Center. The nurse was angry at my persistent request for PT-1 transportation and blamed me for a death in the doctor's family and she told me I was angry and not very forgiving. Bottom line is she never followed through with the form and she tried to tell me I didn't have a broken leg. I told her to look at the x-rays and not to personally attack or blame me because she couldn't do her job. Her response was to insult me by stating that I didn't trust them because I asked for a second opinion when I had the heart attack and they were dropping me as a patient in 30 days. DO NOT go there if you want on time scheduling or adequate medical care. I have had to settle for sub standard care and insults for far too long. I have accessed another PCP and DO NOT recommend this medical provider. They are too cheap to hire any help and run their office like it's an empire. Dr. Randal Kaufman Gail Kaufman

Tickers and shocks…read more Dr Chu is a cardiologist or more specifically a cardiac electrophysiologist. That's basically a cardiologist that specializes in electrical rhythms and activities in the heart. There's a whole lot of complicated things going on in the ol' ticker to keep it going and this a a guy that figures it all out. Dr Chu deals with a whole heap of different cardiac problems including atrial fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, hypo and hypertension, aneurysm, heart failure, valve disease and lots of other things with very long and difficult names. He does various procedures like electrical cardioversion, ablation, angioplasty and bunch of other heart related problems. He of course collaborates with other cardiologists and physicians so a patient gets the best possible care for their particular condition. Dr Chu is obviously very competent and experienced at what he does but he also is a very pleasant individual that will take the time to explain exactly what needs to be done, why it has to be done and how he is going to do it. Having someone messing around with your heart can be a rather stressful situation for any patient. But Dr Chu will not only do an excellent job of keeping your ticker doing what it's suppose to do but also keeps you informed and relaxed as possible while doing it.

I needed a knee replacement and decided to have Dr. Porter as a surgeon. He was amazing! He takes…read morethe time to answer questions and the care and surgery was above and beyond my expectations. Jess was there to answer any and all questions when I called. She too was on her game getting back with any concerns. The stay at Sturdy was longer than expected due to blood pressure but the nurses were so caring. They responded so quickly to the call button and were helpful. I was blessed to have Jakki, Marie, Richard, Liz and also Ashley. They are an outstanding group of nurses, CNA's and phlebotomist. I had a friend visit who is a RN and she commented on how well the floor seemed to work together and everyone was smiling. Impressive! Last but not least, the PT department shines. Will is such a warm, encouraging attribute to Sturdy. He was patient and truly cared about me while I was in his care. Thank you Will. His helper Tye was also very sweet. Overall I could not ask for a better team of caring professionals and would recommend Sturdy to anyone needing medical care.

I will avoid the ER from now on - 1st the parking is horrible and 2nd the excessively long wait…read moretimes and a back and forth to the dirty waiting room is such an outdated way to operate. You check in they send you to waiting room, then you see triage back to waiting room, then they officially check you in and take insurance info then back to waiting area, then X-ray, back to waiting area, then bloodwork, back to waiting area (you can see your test results on the portal) but after waiting 4 + hours you still haven't seen a doctor. I think sturdy has a major staffing issue & doctors and NP don't seem to want to work there.

My doctor was very thorough and patient with all the information she gave me, allowing for plenty of time for questions. The parking situation is ample and easy, the lobby is also very big and clean. I really enjoy the setup and the service here.
