After dropping off my car at the body shop, one of their team members came to pick me up (wish I had caught his name--he was awesome!) and got me set up quickly at their location. Unfortunately I had to be very picky about my vehicle choice as I use it regularly for work. These guys made the whole car rental process incredibly easy from start to finish, and even gave me a few different options to choose from! Abigail and Mario were also both super helpful, friendly, and professional. They answered all my questions, got everything squared away fast, and made the whole thing completely stress-free. The car was clean, in great shape, and the return process was just as simple. I really appreciated how seamless the whole experience was, during a time that could've been a lot more complicated. We rented a Chrysler Pacifica from the airport- the tire pressure was low and was making abnormal sounds w the wheel. The threads were worn out. We rented it for a week for a Texas road trip- drove it for under a day- and didn't feel confident it would get us there safely. Hence went to this Avis to get car exchanged. When I was later given the rental agreement, I noticed optional insurance coverage had already been added and marked as accepted, with initials requested afterward. When I questioned the charges and stated that I did not want the optional insurance, Salem told me that the insurance "had to be charged because it was the holiday" and implied this was how totals were increased. When I refused to sign for coverage I did not authorize, I was told to "get my stuff and leave." When I attempted to ask additional questions about the charge already placed on my card, he threatened to call the police. At no point should a customer be charged for optional coverage before consent and signatures are provided. I am currently working with the corporate office to address the issue and dispute the unauthorized charge. Salem said he was the manager so i doubt anything will be corrected there I ultimately went to Enterprise instead, where they handled the rental professionally and got me taken care of immediately.

I got to try out their smartcar and Mercedes GLA. I had trouble figuring out how to start the ignition on the smartcar, so I contacted their support line and was able to get help from a customer representative immediately. The daily rental can get a little expensive. The daily rental for the smartcar cost $69. I believe it's advertised as $59 on the Austin car2go site, but that price doesn't include taxes and fees. The daily rental for the GLA came out to $92. It's advertised as $79 on the site. Over all, car2go made my trip to Austin more enjoyable. I was able to drive out of the city to hike and zipline. However, I'm docking a star off because of their lack of transparency about prices.

I swung by after stopping by my collision shop and was greeted by the friendly lady working at the front desk who took all my info, insurance and deposit. And even let me pick a gun standard/midsize vehicle to drive, which ended up being a Tesla! Smart car for dumb people, yes. Lol. Although there was a learning curve and less than 15% left to charge; there were supercharging stations in proximity and we were also able to charge the vehicle at home. It's been a stressful few weeks sorting this out being involved in insurance hell but Hertz helping me not walk in this 100 degree summer and getting me in a vehicle to drive around has been much appreciated! The 2 Clowns running this place are a joke…read more I rented 2 trucks from this location for a 1 day rental. I left in a hurry without looking at the rental receipt on my way to the airport. I figured they would have accurate information logged about the vehicles since I've never had this issue with hertz in the past. when I got back from my trip I was shocked at the additional fees they had charge me. They logged both vehicles as having full tank of gas when they were only 1/4 full. they charged me $98 for not returning a child seat even though I returned it. I was charged $300 more than I should have in fuel and child seat charges I did not accumulate. video and photos of the vehicle I rented show less miles on the odometer than were logged on my rental. trying to get any answer from hertz customer service is a joke. the employees know this and push the work load off on corporate even though it is their screw up. I will NEVER rent from this location and probably Hertz ever again.
