Our group stayed here and the host attempted to charge us for damage we did not do. Luckily, our…read morecredit card company recognized suspicious activity with the incident as well (considering we have never needed to dispute a charge of this nature) and refused to reimburse Airbnb for the charge. We are still upset with how she handled the situation and requested that Airbnb ask her to file a police report to report a break-in that must have occurred after our check out (considering the cleaners don't appear to have arrived for several days after checkout - anything could have happened during that time). We considered filing the police report ourselves, but trusted that Airbnb/the host would handle it due to the severity of the alleged damage and her accusations. Needless to say, we would not have requested that a police report be filed (nor offered a sworn affidavit denying responsibility for the damage to Airbnb) if we were in fact responsible. It was not right for her to push the damage onto us instead of taking safety precautions for future guests in the event a break-in occurred. If nothing else, the property (which can be accessed by any Airbnb guest through a door code) would benefit greatly from a security system with cameras. The other alternative would be that she may have submitted photos to Airbnb that were taken prior to our visit there. Regardless, we were not responsible and will unfortunately never stay with this host, or Airbnb ever again. We left the place in the same condition we arrived to (clean) and our memory of it has been absolutely ruined due to this incident.

This property is a perfect Studio setup on Lake Buchanan! If you're into the outdoors/nature and lake scene but also enjoy everything you need right at your fingertips this is the place for you! It's clean, it's more spacious than the photos give it credit for, it's affordable, and most of all, it's peaceful! Here are some of the awesome things you'll find at Ralph's Lake Cottage: King size bed, trundle bed with pull out, chaise lounge, decks and patio furniture, full size fridge and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, full set of kitchenware and cooking supplies. Coffee, tea, zip locks, paper towels, toilet paper, pillows, blankets, extra sheets, bath towels, beach towels, flashlights, musical instruments, DVDs, puzzles, games, cards, fans, kayaks, bikes, swings, firepit, BBQ pit, and more! Seriously, the owners thought of everything! All I brought with me was some wine, snacks, comfy clothes, and my sewing supplies. I had my own personal Sewing Retreat for the weekend and it was fantastic! =) As far as nearby attractions, I only ventured out once when I took the 25 minute drive to Llano, Texas. It was a super cute town with several boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, and 2 quilt stores (which were my main motivator for leaving the cottage). There's also a Family Dollar. There are also nearby wineries and a Country Store with plenty of basics plus made to order pizza, salads, and sandwiches. I personally recommend bringing some food, some wine and comfy clothes and just hanging out to enjoy the scenery. Be sure to do some star gazing at night and get up for the sunrise - it's AMAZING!

This was a fantastic…read morealternative to staying at a hotel, as you have a full kitchen, laundry, private outdoor seating, free Wifi, and conveniences like an iPod dock, platform bed, and overhead rain shower. The washer/dryer and laundry room was totally worth it, as I was able to catch up on laundry before the next leg of my trip. The Nest looks exactly like it does on the website, and the location is great as well. It is literally adjacent to a shopping center (the back parking lot of Sears is like 20 feet away) but surprisingly this isn't a negative because it's still very quiet. Convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, and a golf course where you can go for a run around the perimeter. Highly recommended. When I visit Austin again, I'll be back!

He called us the other day and said that somehow a wedding booked through VRBO had been automatically canceled and was booked for the same day. Next, he told us that we could make whatever decision we wanted because it was our booking confirmed through Airbnb. He also offered to get us somewhere similar at half the price but sent two Airbnbs that we didn't like and called it a day. Later that evening he said he was going to cancel our booking because the wedding already had "several VRBOs booked nearby, 12 caterers and 60 guests with a good chunk coming internationally."

We had a very bad experience with Lucas the owner. We had an engagement party booked at one of his…read moreproperties. He called and told us that someone else had booked the same place for the same weekend on vrbo for their wedding, but it had somehow been cancelled on them and they had just found out. He asked us if we would move our party to a new location if he found us another place. But, he said it was totally up to us because we were the ones with the booking. Later in the day, we told him that we just wanted to keep our booking with him. He messaged my fiancé that he totally understood. That evening, he messaged again saying that he felt that he needed to just cancel our booking completely and let the other people have the venue because "they're having a wedding and yours is just an engagement party." My fiancé messaged him back that if he was going to cancel it then just to cancel it so we can get our refund and try to find another location ourselves. The next day, Lucas contacted us again and completely switched up and tried to make it seem like the reason he was canceling our booking was because of the number of people we were planning to be hosting. Meanwhile he had already told us that the wedding that he is allowing to have the place is going to be having more people than what ours was supposed to have. He has also been giving us trouble by messaging and trying to call my fiancé to manipulate us into being the ones to cancel the booking now so he doesn't get the penalties. Luckily, we contacted airbnb support who helped us get it cancelled on his end. I would not recommend booking anything with him. He is very dishonest and untrustworthy. We also didn't appreciate the way he was making it seem like it was our fault for not wanting to move our party. He was guilt tripping my fiancé over the phone. This situation showed that he does not know how to make business decisions based on what is booked and on record.

Keeping good tenants happy while still looking out for the property is a hard balance, and she strikes it well. Maintenance has been the same. When things have come up, she's coordinated the work, sent estimates up front, and kept me in the loop from start to finish. She treats the relationship like a partnership, which is rare. If you want someone who stays on top of things, I'd recommend Keyrenter, and Robyn in particular.
