Visited Styles to check out a Quilter amp. What I found was a professional staff that understood both musicians and equipment. After being able to play through the Quilter I came back a few days later to purchase the amp and Greg and Lou were right, I love it. After my experience with Styles I am done with buying and selling music equipment via the internet. They have sold two vintage amps for me without the hassle of shipping and hoping the buyer works out. I recently added another Quilter amp as a backup that Lou and Greg helped me pick out. The manager was really unprofessional , he didn't give me a refund on my strings and was trying to provoke me. A real child if you ask me, he said that I needed to be reasonable, but in actuality, he was the one who needed to be reasonable. Please, the only thing he was sensible enough to do was mooch some money off his customer. Originally he told me he was trying to make a business, but clearly it's already failing considering how he has to mooch off money from his customers as a desperate attempt to pay the bills. Highly recommend that everybody avoids this place, because the manager proves to be unreliable, untrustworthy and UNREASONABLE. I would definitely recommend this shop and will return in the future. I went in last night to replace my boyfriend's guitar that was stolen a few months back and found a beautiful and affordable guitar with Gregg's help. I told Gregg my budget and he showed me the perfect option for my guy's needs. With the advent of Guitar Center and Sam Ash, finding a 'Mom and Pop' style music store is nearly impossible. Sure they don't have as wide a selection compared to the mega music stores, however, most of the selection found is such stores is smoke in mirrors since most of the instruments are similar or the same models with a few differences such as paint color. Styles carries most of the major brands as the larger stores, however, the staff is very helpful and not their to sell you a bridge in San Francisco. I have been directing students there for instruments and sheet music for the last six years and have never had a single complaint from anyone. If anything, I have been thanked. There prices are very competitive and they give you personalized service that you will not get at a Guitar Center where you are more likely than not to get some green kid who hasn't a clue about the merchandise. read more

I went in to solicit some information on an old Silvertone mandolin and inquire about possibly repairing/replacing some tuning gears (I don't know much about mandolins because I don't play 'em). The person I spoke with - I believe it was Lou, Jr. - was extremely helpful. After giving me some options and looking up parts, his recommendation was to leave it in its vintage (stock) condition - and he even referred me to another music store that he felt may serve those needs best. It was very refreshing to talk with a businessman with the integrity to place my best interest over what would have been a decent chunk of change in both parts and repair work. My family has been coming here for years (band for the kids & my guitar hobby), and there's little wonder why we continue returning. You're a class act, Styles Music! DO NOT GET MUSIC LESSONS HERE! SCOTT WILL RIP YOU OFF! Wish I could give Styles 0 stars! I bought my son 6 music lessons for his birthday. His lessons were set up with Scott who changed the time of his lessions 3 different times and also cancelled 2 of his lessons. Scott refused to reschedule the lessons which I paid for in full. He then tried to make me sign an agreement with him stating if lessons were cancelled then we could not make them up or get refunded. Scott's quailty of lessons is also very poor to say the least, and lessons were more of a social gathering than instructional. Additionally Scott loves to group text with all the parents of his student to rearrange his schedule, very inconvenient when at work. I asked him to remove me from the group texting, which of course Scott refused. read more

Looking back at my older review, which was a bit harsh regardless I do recommend that you should check out this establishment. It's pretty much the best music shop around Pomona, Claremont, LaVern and even Montclair compared to other music shops ,such as the Music Boutique, Folk Music store and many crooked Pawn shops, because they carry decent products and the staff is well educated about own gear. They have a Guitar Tech who fixed my previous Guitars PS it's a bit pricey, but worth it. At the end of the day you can't compare them to a Sam Ash or Guitar Center however they do and hold their own against the other competitors. read more

Greg went out of his way for me and even called me to make sure my new amp was meeting my expectations. We need places like this place to take care of us. Great music store with nice family owned atmosphere. You have a nice selection of instruments except drums and most woodwinds but they can order anything. It's really a guitarists shop with walls of nice mid to high end guitars and amps. Great service, return policy is a trap though, no refunds just exchanges so choose carefully. read more

One of the main things I have an issue with this store is they over charge way too much for guitar work. My friend just needed a simple fix on his pick up selector, it was loose but he didn't know how to fix it, and they charged him 65 dollars for a simple tweak on it. Adding on, they tried to sell him a "newer" pick up selector that would work better for 25 dollars. I felt bad for him and wished he had asked me to fix it instead. They scam people and talk them into purchasing their services/products. Don't go to them to get your instruments fixed, look up how to do it yourself, and save your self 85 dollars. read more
