I tried this place through Uber Eats... and I just can't even compliment this place enough! They have THE BEST FOOD. (Notice I put effort into putting in caps, I'm not messing around) My mind is blown by how tasty EVERYTHING was. As others have mentioned, the mapping on Yelp is off by quite a ways but the address is correct. The food here is authentic and pretty good. The service, venue and value however are lacking. I had the 2 taco combo plate (#20) for $8.99 with chicken tacos and it was good tasting but there just wasn't much there for $9. The service wasn't great and they didn't even give me a fork for my take out order. I wanted menudo but they were out of take out containers for soup. They have a limited selection of meats and no carnitas? They are closed randomly and post the dates on the inside. If I'm in the area I'll try the pupusa. read more

This is a really good place to get some good food. Their carne asada plate never disappoints. They're chicken quesadillas are great. Their pupusas are awesome. Overall just great Mexican food and I haven't found another place nearby with as good flavor as Su Casa Marquez. You can tell it's family owned when you go inside and they treat you like family. The address on Yelp is correcr, however when you click for directions it send you to an incorrect location. So map it yourself using the yelp address. It's on Stapleton and E 4TH. Small little restaurant but still enough room to seat about 30 I'd say. GREAT salsa bar with variety of salsas, fresh limes, pickled carrots and radishes amount some other little spicy otems. Service - 5/5. Was professional and quick. Nothing stellar, but they do their jobs and they do it well. Cleanliness - 5/5. No complaints here. Salsa bar was well kept, tables were all cleaned, even the girl behind the counter made sure to continously check floors and eating areas for Cleanliness and to restock. Food- 4/5. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is Bcuz I'm one damn picky mexican food critic. There was NOTHING wrong with the food, I just wouldn't put it on my top "5 star" mexican food joints I'd drive 45mins to go eat. Food came out properly made, HOT HOT HOT, and a generous portion for the price. Beans that we had as a side of our burrito plate were a bit cold and chips were chewy but burrito and all the fillings were PIPING hot and everything tasted very fresh. Handmade tortillas for tacos were delish!!!! Burritos are GIGANTIC. One down side is they don't have found tain soda, just bottled and canned soda. Price- 3/5. We managed to spend $31 on our order which is INSANE. One burrito combo, one burrito al a Carte, a side of fries and a Mexican coke. I almost coughed up a lung when she told me the total. BREAKING NEWS! The search has ended! Our quest for a good Mexican restaurant with authentic rather than Americanized food stopped right here. I loved the birria and I am not a huge meat eater. So flavorful and a homemade tortilla. Hubby had a combination plate playing it safe with enchiladas. He was very happy and very full. We will be back to savor some of the other items on the menu. Fast Casual type restaurant Su Casa Marquez is a quaint little restaurant serving up fresh and delicious Mexican Cuisine with warmth and pride. I grew up in a Mexican Household with a relative from Mexico so I tend to go into these type of places with a little more of a discriminate palate than usual. Well I can tell you that if you come here then you will be very happy. This place does an awesome job with the ingredients it procures. I tried a couple of items. Service by the guy working was really nice, but he was much more social to the regulars and those of the same descent as him. I totally look Caucasian thanks to my father I guess. I don't look Hispanic at all and I'd say it's probably hindered things many times. I sat for quite some time in their Dining Room wishing that he'd come back out to talk some more, but alas he spent the majority of time in the kitchen. Driving along Fourth Plain Rd I am always intrigued by the numerous Mexican joints, most of them look like small family owned businesses where Mexicans are the customers, and that my yelpers is how you know you are getting some authentic tacos. So where do the cooks from Muchas Gracias go for lunch? You guessed it: Su Casa Marquez. It's a small place, its not fast, its casual and its authentic, well except for the hamburgesas and hot dogs (who gets this?). Must try the tacos, gorditas, lengua and lengua en salsa roja, the peanut salsa (spicy), and please do have a jarrito with your meal. This was such a great experience! 30 minutes ago, my girlfriend and I didn't know where to go for dinner, so I looked up places on Yelp and this place came up. Went there, and the place looks poor on the outside, but everything else is amazing! Food is well priced for what you get, great big portions and the man who was helping me was so kind, smiling (which is so important in customer service) and brought us waters out of nowhere without even asking! Don't let the interior detour you (I let this happen the first time I walked through the door). The food is delicious. It is the real deal. Yes, there are rice and beans but there are also things you don't find in every other funky little Mexican joint. Things called pupusas and they have sopas and other things I've never heard of. And their salsa bar is amazing. Such variety along with carrots, cabbage slaw stuff, cactus salsa. Mmmmm. So, this being my first visit, the owner guy talked me into a pupusas . I went with bean and cheese. The best way I can describe it is like a stuffed flour torilla. He assured me it would be delicious and oh yes, it was. The man recommended that I put the cabbage slaw on top with a specific salsa (I think it was mild)... I did his recommended plus a spicier one. For a gringa, I can handle some heat. So, yum, yum and yum. I will definitely be going back. This is close(ish) to work and might be my new favorite lunch spot. As a matter of fact, I just logged into Yelp to find a place to get food for lunch and I had a reminder pop up to finish this review from last week... thanks to that reminder, now I know I'll be going here for lunch today. I have only eaten at a handful of places in Vancouver and every time, I have been mostly disappointed. I have basically given up and become resigned to the fact that Portland is the best place to have a great meal. So I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to give this place a shot. Blink and you might miss it when you're driving by. I actually did. Doesn't look like much from the outside, or the inside either really. But the food...wow. I had the king burrito, one friend had a spicy shrimp dish (do not remember what it was called), and the other friend had a plateful of tacos, I think with different meat in each one. I can't say anything about the others' meals...usually we offer each other a bite but no one seemed to want to do that here. Everything was delicious and we all just wanted our own food to ourselves. I did let one of the guys finish off my burrito because it was so gigantic, I could only eat half. I wasn't happy about that since I wanted to take the rest home and eat it later when I got hungry again :( What Su Casa Marquez lacks in aesthetics, it absolutely makes up for in tastiness, generously-sized plates and super-friendly service. Awesome authentic Mexican Food. I grew up an hour away from the Mexican/American border and this is about as close to enjoying that experience since being in the Pacific Northwest. The food is wonderful, quickly prepared and filling. Though there are definitely some Americanized versions of classic dishes here, this out of the way establishment is a great place to go for your lunch or breakfast needs. My only real complaint is the dark and cramped environment here. This place is very small and could hold at most 20 people, and you feel it when it is full.
