the cake they made me 3

Love this bakery so much! Called yesterday morning at 10am to place a last minute cake order. It was ready by 12pm today. Their tres leches tastes so good and my cake is so pretty!! Posting the inspo picture i sent them & what i got. The cake I ordered was bigger than the inspo pic because of how many people it was for :) LOVE IT SO MUCH

Small spot next to a gas station and a liquor store. Su Pan Bakery sells delicious cakes (whole pies and slices), fruit tarts, desserts and other Mexican baked goods. The other half of the store sells tortas, croissants, breakfast burritos and bolillos, carne asada fries and coffee / tea / orange juice. Service is quick and easy. Came in for a fruit tart, paid about 6 dollars. It was delicious and the crust was lined with chocolate. Parking is scarce. About 10 spots in the lot that's shared. Street parking isn't too far or just park quickly at the gas station and walk over. A few tables and chairs and a tv with music videos was playing when I was there. Solid energy for the place.

We ordered by phone ahead of time at 9:16pm to place an order of "1 Torta Milanesa, 2 preparados de Chorizo." We came about 10min earlier and it was not made. Cook was complaining and playing around with the Cashier's Saying kitchen is closed. Definitely one of the worst service I had here. I love supporting local but man, this place unfortunately isn't it . I just received the order at 942pm. Note of advice Talk to your kitchen staff. Also, There were a few people waiting just as long. They did a great job with the cake I ordered for my coworker. The only frustrating thing is that I did order it a week ahead so I could just pick it up before work and it wasn't ready when I got there. Luckily it didn't take too long and they did a beautiful job. My coworker absolutely loved it and I do recommend them but I would just say make sure to leave a time buffer if you need to pick it up in a hurry.

I've looking for an authentic panaderia in the area! It was very clean and welcoming. The staff was polite and provided great customer service. My friend mentioned them offering tortas so I decided to give it a try. The torta was delicious and they forsure do not skimp you! I'd also like to add that their pan is delicious, not stale at all, very soft, sweet and tasty, I'm definitely coming back for more!

    cream cheese danish

So i came here today for the first time and i got the cream cheese danish. it was $3 which i find pretty standard for the price. its basically right next to the burger king in price center too btw. yeah but the place is like a self serve type thing. just get the tongs, pick up the pastry u want, place it in the bag, and then just check out at the front. quick get in and get out before class which i find very convenient. pretty nice ppl working at the front too. but yeah my cream cheese danish was pretty good. not too cheesy, nice n flaky. not too sweet either but just right. pretty fye. if i put that bih in the air fryer it would been even more fire ngl. will def come back fosho

Rosca de Reyes cake with cream cheese.....delicious
    Jennifer V.

This pan Rosca de Reyes is sooooooo delicious. It is moist--not crumbly, great texture, and my goodness the toppings especially the star was the cream cheese filling. I ate this bread three times! I even called back the next day to check their inventory. And to my dismay, they only make it for that celebratory holiday. I have something to look forward to in 2026! In closing, I have been back here several times for their pans and bolillos! Wtf! The bolillos are sooooo delicious and soft. A household favorite!

I love a little coffee shop break when I'm on the road between patients and need a place to chart. Su Pan bakery has quickly become my safe haven for just that. Their baked goods are made fresh. So far I've tried their blueberry muffin - incredible, and they're mini flan - otherworldly. The shortbread that sits under the flan was perfectly light and the flan wasn't too sweet but had good body to it. Service is always great. Everyone is always patient with me when I'm taking 20 business minutes to decide what I want. And I love that the atmosphere is generally calm even when it's busy.

Mocha tres leches cake (candle not included)
    Pauline S.

I was researching the best place to order a Tres Leches cake in San Diego and this bakery kept popping up. I ordered a round Mocha Tres Leches cake for my husband's birthday a week in advance and it looked and tasted delicious! Perfect amount of moist and lots of fruit on top. The place had many 2-4 person tables available and it was pretty busy on a Thursday morning, which is how you know this place is good! The place was clean and light. I was in a bit of a rush to pick up the cake, so unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try their other pastries. Highly recommend Su Pan for their Tres Leches cake!!

We walked into a modern space with a clean, inviting layout that makes it easy to stop by for a quick pastry or pick up a few things to share. The selection is one of the biggest draws, with everything from classic Japanese breads to savory items that make it feel like more than just a dessert stop. The display cases are well organized, and the visual appeal of the baked goods adds to the experience before you even order. The pastries are where ASA Bakery really stands out. The curry pan is one of the highlights, with a crisp exterior and a savory filling that makes it a satisfying snack rather than just a bakery item. The croissants are also worth trying, especially the matcha croissant, which has a buttery flaky texture with a matcha filling that adds a slightly earthy flavor without becoming overly sweet. The matcha comes through clearly, and the croissant itself is well laminated, with the right amount of crispness on the outside and a soft, airy interior. The melon pan is another classic option that delivers the soft bread interior and lightly sweet cookie-like topping that makes it a staple in Japanese bakeries, staying true to the traditional version while feeling freshly made. The savory menu adds another reason to visit, especially the katsu sandos. The cutlet sandwiches have a nice balance between the crispy fried filling and the soft bread, making them one of the more memorable items on the menu. The bread stays soft and pillowy, and the cutlet holds its crunch even against the sauce, which is a detail that often gets overlooked. Items like the hojicha latte and other drinks pair naturally with the pastries, making ASA Bakery feel like a place where you can sit down and enjoy a full café break rather than just grab something quickly. The drink menu is thoughtfully curated and complements the baked goods without competing for attention. Service is friendly and the bakery has a welcoming atmosphere, although popular items can sell out depending on when you visit. The staff are knowledgeable about the offerings and happy to guide you through the selection, which is helpful given the range of choices. The shop gets busy, especially during peak hours, so going earlier gives you the best chance to see the full selection. The pace of the visit stays comfortable even when the line forms, and the team handles the flow efficiently. ASA Bakery is a great spot for anyone looking for Japanese-style baked goods with a mix of sweet and savory options. The combination of quality pastries, unique flavors, and a comfortable café setting makes it a place worth returning to, whether you are picking up a quick snack or settling in for a longer break. It delivers on both the familiar classics and the more creative offerings, leaving you with the sense that you have found a bakery that takes its craft seriously.

Many reviews have noted this, and I would have to agree, especially for the size (crepe cake slices) and/or simple design (two layer naked cakes). We ended up trying a slice of their taro crepe cake. It was tasty - light, smooth, and included real taro - and had alternating layers of cream and taro; however, we were surprised with how small it was in person (vs photos) for $12.50 before tax. This is just below the price for an Extraordinary Desserts cake slice, which is not only bigger and more complex, but also made fresh. We noticed the crepe cake slice we got had that dusting of ice sparkles, indicating it was frozen and defrosting, and additionally, as it defrosted, the more it started leaning. If you haven't tried Yiko Yiko, it's worth still checking out. That said, I think you'll be satisifed after one or two visits.

Lots of chocolate and I think they added toffee in it too. The middle section had pistachio frangipane (or it looked like it) with coarsely chopped pistachios that brought another layer of crunch! Then to top it all off, it had pistachio cream on top of the cookie! I only wish I got another one. CAPPUCCINO It was okay. But love the foam! It was frothy and foamy! PAVLOVA The meringue was a bit too hard and too sweet and the pastry cream was overwhipped. Loved the fresh fig and blueberries though. I was looking forward to eating pavlova and this was very disappointing! KOUIGN AMANN Very buttery and sticky! Crispy on the outside. Every bite was not dry, but chewy. There was this sticky and chewy texture that wasn't unpleasant, yet it wasn't fully flaky like a croissant. But glad it was not dry! The kouign amann was not as tall like others I've tried, but I preferred it this way because it was not dry. The last kouign amann I had from Bread Lounge was dryyyy. But bought mine at a coffee shop too. PAIN AU CHOCOLAT Crispy on the outside, but I must have toasted a bit more, so the outside was a bit more toasted than desired. Inside was good. Good dark chocolate. BUTTER CROISSANT Really buttery, flaky, crispy! Ate it next day, so reheated it in the toaster oven to bring a more crispness all around. Really enjoyed this! Adding butter and jam is so good! LEMON MERINGUE Meringue had a strong eggy smell and flavor, the lemon was tangy, but not enough to rid of the eggy smell and flavor. The tart was hard and almost stale. I took a few bites and threw the rest out. PAIN SUISSE Chocolate flavor. Crispy on the outside, fluffy like a light spongy cake inside. Enjoyed this! CUSTOMER SERVICE Got there early afternoon. There was only one person in front of me. Good service overall. Quick service. Hits and misses of the various pastries I've tried. It will not deter me from trying their pastries though, as the really good ones were really good! Would love to return! Especially for that Choco Chip Pistachio Cookie!
