Rosca de reyes

Rosca de Reyes was a major disappointment. First off it was very expensive. $35 for an 8 in round..measuring from the outsides We got the filled one and found that it was not all the way filled...lots of gaps with no filling. To top things off..we pre ordered and were given the rosca in a plastic bag...not a box. Bread was super dry and crumbly all the way through. Do not recommend

I stopped in to pick up a few pieces of pan dulce that I like. Specifically, I came in to try the Elotes and cuernitos. They had both, so I picked one of each to eat later at home. Both were okay. They tasted pretty good, but they were a little on the dry side, especially the inside ingredients. I was hoping for a moist center from both, but it was not to be.They both had a crusty sugar crust that tasted good, but I can't help feel I got the end of the day batch. They were certainly better for dipping in coffee or milk with their harder and drier centers. The bakery is very simple and direct or not much to look at, but they do carry a variety of pan dulce, croissants, and bolillo rolls. The girls who helped me at the counter was quite nice, and busily working in the back.

I had plans to stop at neighboring restaurant for a snack in this strip mall across from the trolley station, but it was early and they weren't open yet, so I checked out Sammy's panaderia. I'm glad I did. Not too soon, since I just missed some SDPD action half a block away. Apparently a couple of patrol cars had detained someone along this lovely section of Imperial Avenue. Code 4. Suspect in custody. Move along. Racks of freshly made cookies, cakes, and pastries were on display. After surveying the goods, I grabbed a sheet pan and a pair of tongs to make some picks. I could've yelped for suggestions, but was in a rush for snap decisions. I picked up some cookies, a couple of fruit empanadas, and a cheese danish. I nibbled a bite here and there. This is my creative license, so that I don't sound like I inhaled everything by myself. The cookie I bit into was more on the crunchy side and less soft and chewy, but the sweetness is there without being over sugary. Same for the cream cheese danish. Fresh, light pastry and good amount of dreamy, cream cheesy filling. Sammy's fruit empanadas are awesome. I got apple and lemon, and at 80¢ each, I coulda got more flavors, like guava, cream cheese, cherry, or blueberry and not break the budget. Variety on the cheap is good! The fresher picks get scooped up by the early birds, but the bakers are constantly working in the kitchen next door to fill custom cake orders and replenish inventory. Cards also accepted. Another plus. Enjoy.

Great pastries at a great price. Definitely authentic, and has fruit empanadas. Staff was friendly too!

(This review is solely based on the Donuts) Donas! Well at least thats what it said as the label for the donuts. LOL. I wanted to try out a Panderia for once so I found Sammy's Mexican Bakery Maple Donut Sugar Donut Soft dough. Good flavor. I didn't try the other baked goods but they smelled and looked fresh.

Fresh donuts. If you have never been to a panderia then you really need to come here. They are fresh first thing in the morning time!

Wide selection of different Mexican breads! Made fresh daily

The best, most authentic bread in San Diego... Maybe even better than Tijuana. The bread is always fresh and at a reasonable price

What a cute boba spot. So happy they finally have one in San Diego and so close to my house…read more I love the ambiance of the place. It's super cute, pink and clean. There is no customer service as everything you order is through the kiosk, which is fine. The drinks come out quick which is a plus. I did pay extra for the cute surprise toy. I can't wait to come back and try other drinks and their mochi dough. Thanks Mochi Dough for a fun first time.

FOR THE WIN!!! (4.75 stars)…read more I love donuts. And I tend to stick to basic classical donuts. And therefore I am late to the trend with the mochi donuts! This location is inside Bober Tea and Coffee. There is a glass casing with several flavors to choose from and they sell at $3 a piece. The one that stood out to me was the chocolate with sprinkles. Upon receiving it in a paper pocket bag, the icing was rubbing off on the bag. That immediately told me this is super fresh! I could already feel the softness of the donut. The little sectioned off ball looking segments of the donut are also a game changer when it comes to eating - easier to eat without making a mess! The texture was bouncy, soft, lightly chewy and a little stretchy... the texture was fun and I found myself wanting another afterwards. I do wish they had offer other flavors that don't sounds too sweet because the other flavors didn't really catch me. Until the next review...

The coconut cream pie stuffed doughnut. Enough said. I tried this place for the first time after…read moreeyeing it for a while, I got the coconut cream pie, the strawberry shortcake for my husband, the bacon and maple, and then I got a raspberry jelly mini, cinnamon sugar mini and coconut cream pie mini. Our favorites we'd recommend is the coconut cream pie and the strawberry shortcake. The bacon maple still had an amazing texture and we loved how fluffy and satisfying the dough is made but I wasn't a fan of the bacon fat taste with the maple even though I usually like a sweet+savory combo. Over all we're gonna buy again on Mother's Day morning!

She was helping someone else but quickly wrapped up to take my order. The space was clean with plenty of seating. It was so hard to decide so I grabbed a few to share: Maple Bacon, Coconut Cream, Lemon and Horchata. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and appreciated that they were not overly nor greasy. The fluffiness reminded me more of a beignet and brioche. Will be back to try more flavors! 5/13- We returned for more. These were made to order and topping to dough ratio was too much. Maybe they were being generous, but they were overly sweet today. Bourbon Caramel, Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon, Blueberry Hill, Mango Margarita and Turtle Cheesecake. All great flavors, just too much of it.
