This review has nothing to do with the back office staff, this review is more geared toward the…read morefront office staff handling payment and billing the patient insurance: I think you should be a lot more transparent about what it means to be an out of network provider for Delta insurance. I was charged $285.00 up front for my son's cleaning/check up and you assured my husband over the phone that you guys would bill our insurance and we would get the reimbursement for the cleaning/check up sent directly to our house from Delta. You did in fact do all of this, however, we were only reimbursed $147.00, due to your out of network status with Delta. Cleanings and check ups should be fully covered under my insurance, so paying $138 out of pocket for that is absolutely crazy. For people not familiar with dental prices, a cleaning and check-up at most dental offices for a patient with absolutely NO insurance typically runs $75-$200. Don't be us and learn the hard way, choose an in-network provider! I understand they're not trying to lose all of their clientele due to cutting off all the dental contracts, but I think you need to be more honest with people not familiar with dental billing and let people know much they will be reimbursed back. My husband was under the impression that we would get the full amount back that we paid up front based on your conversation with him. If you truly care about your patients/clientele, I highly suggest you start being more honest about the up front cost and how much will be reimbursed back by the insurance before seeing the patient. We would never have agreed for our son to be seen, if we knew the full details.

This mean you will be charged a lot of just a cleaning and xray. I've been a little disturbed lately they keep pushing Invisalign. So far everyone I know they have asked about Invisalign. These people are all adults and some even geriatric. I go to the dentist for cleanings and fillings. If I'm interested in Invisalign then I'll see an orthodontist. The pushing of Invisalign feels like a money scam. I'm considering looking for a new dentist due to the asking everyone if they want Invisalign and no longer accepting Delta Dental.

I made an appointment and took a day off of work to get my issues taken care of. During my exam the dentist says... Yes I think you may need a root canal. (this I already know and explained to them a week ago on the phone). He then says I will need to refer you out to my root canal specialist. I'm like what? You already know I waited a week and I'm in pain. So they attempt to make an appointment for two days from now. I reply I can't do that, I already took off work to get this done today. So the specialist who is 30 minutes away says ok we can see him. So now I drive to another city to see the specialist only to be told it would cost me $126 just for a consultation... No work on my teeth would be done The work would be scheduled out another week or so because the specialist was going on vacation. Needless to say this type of customer service is unexceptable. I was never told on the phone during the initial call that if in fact I needed a root canal I would get referred out to a specialist. Had I known this I would have made other choices to get my exam. I am beyond frustrated and still in pain with nothing done to fix the issue. I work six days a week in San Francisco ( which is a 2 1/2 hour commute), so my time is valuable. I hope that everyone reads the comment by the dentist in response to my review. There was no confusion on my part. I never named this dentist, I simply said dentist. It happened in his office and there still is no accountability to the breakdown of communication. I simply put that had I known that I would be referred out, I would have checked other avenues. Maybe this is the way care dentistry works but I was never afforded that. It really demonstrates that lack of empathy he has for people. I also agree with him on one thing... I never met him. But I never said I did. It was his office and it was a different dentist. However when someone calls the front desk and describes there symptoms etc. I have had root canals before and told them I think this is what it is. My former dentist did everything in house including the procedure, so that is my experience. It really comes down to just explaining procedurely what to expect if it was a root canal situation. I probably would have came in anyway knowing that because that is the practice of care dentistry. I too feel bad. I feel bad that the dentist takes no accountability for people he employs or things that happen in HIS office. I truly thought I might get some contact where we could have had dialog but instead it's just an example of my experience. I understand he is well established and I hope this was an isolated incident.

Heidi is my older cousin, who had recently began dating Joe and was meeting our entire family all for the first time. I was a very shy kid and did not take to strangers quickly, if at all, but I am told I immediately took to Joe as if I'd known him my entire life and would not get off his lap. You can see how happy I am. I just met him! Over the years his Annual Christmas visits from NC and California, would be met with great anticipation as he would find time (to Heidi's dismay) to take me to the video arcade, batting cages, play nerf football, street hockey, basketball, tennis, wiffleball, baseball etc.

The other dentist did a better job at keeping my child happy and think it was just a sugar bug. This lady has no way with kids, also made me wait an hour tell me she won't help my child. Like what? You didn't even try. so I recommend if you want it to be child friendly she isn't the one to go to. The assistants were great I'd give them a 5. But sadly the dentist herself wasn't any help. And I hate that they change the dentist every time because my children are used to one then change to someone else who won't attend them. A change has to be made I will definitely not be returning. I found someone else who was better and permanent and child friendly.
